  • i love youuu

  • I have both VGA and HDMI. I am curious, can the VGA cable give you 1080p or do they only give you 1080i? And, IF VGA only gives you 1080i, do you think I should just stick with the HDMI cable which does give you 1080p?

  • @Moonbase0ne buy the hdmi cable it gives you true 1080p once you get the hdmi you won't want to go back to any another cable trust me.

  • btw ... how much is that HDMI cabel .. ? (:

  • @bitk0c could proably get one for about 2 dollars on amazon

  • I've always have been using HDMI with 1024 x 746 on Normal (or something like that) and i've noticed that its kinda too big and now i have started using 1080p on Widescreen but it feels that all the text and guns (for example CoD) are really really small is it just me or is something wrong with my tv?

  • @tMPopcorn Not all TVs seem to be 100% compatible with different Xbox 360 screen resolutions. Try to adjust the size of the "screen" in Call of Duty's settings, if you haven't already.

  • Which is better 1080p or 1080pi it something like that

  • @mosaab5597 1080p is better

  • I have an 50" flat screen tv, and I've tried to connect my xbox 360 to the tv through an HDMI cable, but I don1t get any sound? What's the problem?

  • @callyourdiaryasap check your cable isnt a one way cable, check each end see if one says source and the other might say display

  • I love how 720p looks SO much better than 1080p on my TV. Both VGA and HDMI. lol

  • For some reason the text is a bit blurry for me, even set on 720p or 1080i (my TV does not support 1080p), but on the PS3 and my DVR box, it is crystal clear. What is the issue?

  • Plz help me for me it dosent show hdmi color space

  • I need some help. I'm using a HD composite cable. The type with the 5 colors. However I have a Gateway LCD HD Display monitor and It can go up to 1920 x 1200 and that is better than 1080p. But my Xbox sees it as a TV. What do I do?

  • guys please help me, my tv is a full HD LCD tv and it can support 1080p. i recently bought a HDMI cable capable of supporting 1080p and plugged it into my xbox 360. the picture on the dashboard was crystal clear and so was the writing and pics, however when i hit the guide button the writing and acheivment pics were not as clear and fuzzy looking. idk wat is wrong and help would be appreciated. thanks in advance

  • Hey ive been using HDMI till now until my xbox got replaced by MS. Now they gave me an xbox without a freakin HMDI input!!! I tried using the VGA cable that i had on my monitor (full hd, supports 1920 x 1080 res) but the max resolution it shows is only 1280 x 1024!!! WHY??!?

  • nothing can beat dvi and hdmi, but dvi is capable of resolution higher than hdmi.

  • i have just listened about that cables... i have xbox 360 ... i bought gta IV... and it has bad graphics... if i buy that HDMI or VGA cables... will gta IV have good graphics? my tv is HD Ready... please answer i really want help

  • @MrNikusha999 'HD Ready' means its not Full 1080p HD. Thus you have crappy graphics.

  • @slaughtered777 is it 720P? if i buy HDMI cable... will my xbox games have good graphics???

  • @MrNikusha999 No, your TV doesn't support full 1080p HD if its HD 'ready'. Maybe 480p, 540p, 720p. Check your console settings. The max one there is the one its supports.

  • thanks mate for the help :)

  • Thanks man this helped me alot.

  • Can you use a normal hdmi to vga cable or do you have to use a microsoft one?

  • are there any settings that help with lag input

  • hdmi or dvi are the best since it's a digital signal... vga, av & component are analogue signals which have blur & washed colors, it is noticeable to most people unless your a four eyed idiot.

computers are digital, analogue signals are converted to digital. when you have a digital signal there is no need to convert so quality is cleaner.

  • DVI for video is the best

  • @Mapavia89 how is it? they are the same in picture quality but overall hdmi is better because unlike dvi it can carry digital audio signals too. not to mention the greater bandwidth allowing 3d signals on hdmi 1.4

  • Of cuz Hdmi is better.

  • So what's better? VGA or HDMI? Reply please.

  • @xelnagav280 hdmi is better, read my other comments for info.

  • Pal 50 or pal 60

  • I change my settings to expanded and RGB or the two setting just to see what it happends and everything goes darker than usual, I tried to use my default settings agains with no result its still more darker than usual. Im using and HDM cable =(

  • how come on my xbox with the hdmi cable put in it dosent say 1080p it says 1360x768

  • i used the Microsoft VGA cable on my 19" lg LCD but im not getting any sound and the picture looks really blurry no matter what the resolution.

  • @Rossco602 You need a different cable for sound, because VGA doesn't transfer sound. I'm sorry to hear the picture quality doesn't work for your TV.

  • @maxlimitzz I found out the problem I'm having is called ghosting and I'm not sure if the cables i own are Microsoft's own brand.

  • @Rossco602 mine doesn't even work and its bran new

  • every time i plug in my hdmi my regular screen goes black but i can still hear sound. and when i go to my hdmi its blank....please help me

  • i wanna buy a hd ready is that good

  • thank you

  • @stonedtodamax69 1080p is better than 1080i in terms of quality. No, it doesn't screw anything up but it gives you the highest possible image quality.

  • is that a xbox elite ?

  • so if i buy the HDMI

i will no longer need the AV cables that came with the xbox s

    Right?

  • can you connect a hdmi to the back of your xbox and the hdmi goes to a vga which goes to a laptop or TV. Will it work?

  • Comment removed

  • can some one please answer my tv says full HD compatibility 1080i if i put my hdmi settings on 1080p does that screw stuff up

  • @QueeeehHD do you have the box with the switch on it? that let's you switch between HD and SD? try switching it to High Def, or Standard and see if it works then.

  • where did you buy the vga cable for your xbox?

  • I have a problem with my Picture quality, i got my Xbox 360 Elite, connected to my 22" Samsung T220, through VGA. No matter which resolution i pick, i get some ghosting.

For example if i see Display, it will show Displayyyy.

I've tried connecting 3 other Monitors to my Xbox through VGA, and its all the same, shows ghosting on all of them.

Now my question is, is it because VGA sux, or is it because i've bought a unorinigal cable ? Will a original Microsoft cable make it any better ?

  • @N00bZsT4R Buy the original i had the same problem and with the microsoft version there was no ghosting.

  • @N00bZsT4R I have the same problem with a Acer 24" monitor. I found out it's called reverse ghosting but i was pretty sure it's a screen issue and not a cable problem. Did you find anything to resolve this since you posted this comment?

  • Do you have sound when you connect the VGA CAble ?

  • @baha2303 it looks alot sharper with the vga cable,i have a 42in plasma 1080p hdtv and i have taken my xbox in the office and put it through my 32in hd tv which supports 720p and using the vga i can only put res up to 1300x768 but it looks loads shaper then on the 1080tv shame it dont support the res upto 1900 it looks amazing, yes u get sound

  • @TerryMMA85 Thanks << But It seems that i have a problem to get this cable because it's rear in israel :P

  • @baha2303 do you have ebay

  • @TerryMMA85 No !! And me parents doesn't believe in buying from amazon and Ebay and these sites :S

So i will search in israel for it

  • @baha2303 well they should,i felt the same at one point but it sure is the best place to buy stuff,

  • @TerryMMA85 But in Israel i live in a village not in a a great town like you :P so i must pay 20 $ for shipments and ......... and sometimes the fu*king post office don't give us the shipments !! It happened with my cousin he purchased a book and the post-office didn't delver it

And the big problem we don't have addresses yet in our village :S so it's impossible to buy a stuff from amazon

  • @baha2303 i live in a village probably a little different to yours by the sound of it,real shame for you

  • @TerryMMA85 :S

  • i really did not understand what u did what cable did u use to make the hdmi and the tripe red yellow and white cables did u keep them or u unpluged them ,and where do i get that cable

  • i have a full HD monitor that i use for my xbox but it doesnt have any HDMI input...

  • Ahh, I just finally figured it out. It was the stupid display discovery feature screwing with it. I turned it off, and my normal options came back. Sorry for the wasted post, but I'm glad I figured it out finally.

  • By the way, I am connected with HDMI for video.

  • what's the deal with the new resolution settings? i have a 1080i/720p tv. and the only setting i can get to work is 1280x720, and it doesn't look right. this only happened when they started using actual resolution numbers instead of picking 480i/p, 720p or 1080i/p. it's pissing me off... :/

  • How do i do this if i record with a HD PVR

  • Just bought the Xbox 360 slim 250g, two days ago but am having some problems with games that requires me to switch the pal setting to 60, and when i get blurry and double picture kind of thing, am wondering if i had the hdmi cable would it still require me to switch the pal setting or no, btw the games run quite nicely while am setting it to pal 50..

  • why the fuck i dont have sound ???? ;ooo

  • Is vga picture clean near as hdmi ?

  • Hey , why do i get higher than 1080p ? can anyone answer me ? should i choose 1080p or the higher one ,

  • so is this video saying that VGA has the best performance out of all of these cables? being that it has the highest resolution... sorry im a noob at this stuff lol

  • So you HDMI is the best of all right??? it is better than VGA HD and composite???

  • @bikhung143 HDMI is the best for my television, but your mileage may vary for example if you have a cheap TV that is incapable of showing 1080p (full HD TV), but on the other hand 720p (not full HD TV) looks pretty much the same with my setup.

  • @maxlimitzz it wouldn't matter what your tv can do since Xbox doesn't do 1080P. And most games are actually rated a little less than 720P.

  • @bikhung143 the component cabbles has 6 ends. 3 of them is for the picture and sound if you dont have a hd tv. if you have a hd tv then you will need to stick 5 ends of the component tabble into the back/side of your tv.

  • @bikhung143 technically yes but HDMI and DVI have the exact same quality.

  • Can someone please help? I want to switch from HDMI to Component, but when I switch to component and change Inputs to Component, nothing shows up until I switch it with the HDMI again. Any help?

  • i had no problem getting my xbox slim with my hd tv

  • Is this an HD Monitor because I don't think mine is and I want to get the cable :P

  • @MrValalupe Thanks man. I got a VGA AV HD cable in the end. I'm really pleased with the resolution on my E196FP monitor which I think is older than yours. I have a 42" LG LCD TV as well but I can't see a massive difference between the two.

  • hey bud , i need some urgent help . i got an lcd tv , hd ready . when i connect my xbox 360 to my lcd tv the resolution looks crappy . i mean the game looks alright but the text and everything is too small . i have to strain my eyes like crazy . anything im doing wrong ? . can i use my hd vga cable to connect my 360 to lcd tv ?

  • @coolkenny13 Put your format on normal not widescreen

  • 1080i is better than 1080p. I have been able to considerably tell the difference in playing Crysis 2

  • @maxlimitzz in your opinion what cable produces the best image quality?

  • Where did you buy the vga cable?

  • Hey i have the new xbox 360 with kinect i hooked it up too my mitsibishi projector it doesnt have hdmi soo i bought the hdmi too vga adaptor cable it has the vga port and the yellow white and red end on it and the hdmi on the other one my problem is when i plug it into the vga or rca jacks nothing happens like its not getting a signal or something, thanks any help will be appricated

  • Bit odd how t he VGA offered screen resolutuons and the HDMI did not

  • I need a component cable to set up an HD PVR? Is this cable within the Packet when you order a XBOX? Or do i need to buy it later?

  • When I switch to hd on my av cables my tv turns black. Any help?

  • hey man i have a sony bravia 32 inch 720p tv and i am having some hdtv lag while i play my xbox 360.... will HDMI cables help me get rid of the lag or what do u suggest...i am currently using component wires, please reply.

  • Is VGA better quality then RGB? :)

  • 2 questions

    1) if u have a hdmi cable then u dont nteed any hd cables right?

    2) will i have sound with the hdmi?

  • @iSilverSingH 1) If you have a HDMI cable you don't need the official Xbox 360 VGA HD AV cable (unless you have one of the very first Xbox 360 models which have no HDMI output). 2) You will have sound with HDMI, because HDMI transfers audio and video (I personally use optical sound cable to my home theatre system instead of my HDTV).

  • @maxlimitzz thx man

  • @maxlimitzz really? it Transfers both?

  • how does the vga resolution compare to hdmi?

  • @74dorset VGA allows you more resolutions to choose from. The main differences are that VGA does not carry an audio signal, and is not digital.

  • @ksidornseif thanks man.

  • @74dorset

i personally think the vga is better. i play at 1280 X 1024 resolution. i have tried the hdmi and av as well. HDMI didnt look as good to me as the vga cable did.

  • i bet its very boring around his house

  • Yeah it looks hot but when you click a button your player does it like 1/2 seconds later

  • Can you connect to a hdtv with the VGA HD AV cable?if so where in the hell do you plug the audio.

  • @TGSHokuto If you are using the VGA HD AV cable, you can use the red and white RCA cables in the VGA HD AV cable. Or you can use the optical output, which is the black thing (on the VGA HD AV cable or on your Xbox 360 if it's new enough) where you can see red light coming out if you carefully press the small protective lid with a pen or something similar.

  • @maxlimitzz Thanks a million dude.

  • Okay i have a hdtv and I want the best quality on my tv to play my 360 in i have a elite it came with the HDMI cable and i was wanting to know wats better the hdtv component or HDMI?

  • when u see the system settings for the Xbox 360 and it shows you reference levels: Standard, Intermediate, Expanded. This option affects games and movies. Now my TV is a 1080p HDTV. What option should i take?

  • okay i need help. like in halo my games are like 1 second late. does anyone know how to fix this/?

  • @Spydaman90210 Try decreasing your resolution and if that doesn't help, maybe the problem is with your TV.

  • @Spydaman90210 Try enabling "gaming mode" on your HDTV, if it has that feature.

  • so whats better, HDMI, or VGA?

  • @MrSmoryboy

VGA have better resolution, HDMI have better colors

  • quick answer plz does a ps3 hdmi cable work for 360 they look same i have both but im too lazy to try so plz quick re.

  • wow u just made me go to gamestop buy hdmi and get cod 4 and just sit there...AND HAVE FUUUN :D .

  • i just bought a brand new xbox 360 slim, on my old one i used a VGA cable because the xbox didnt have a hdmi port, i was expecting the picture to be crisp and clean, the dashboard and in game looks WORSE hdmi than VGA! absolutely gutted!

  • guys get monster hd usb cable its the best

  • i have a westinghouse 32 inch led tv. it is not hd but it is 1360x768. which cables would be best for this tv? it has hdmi plugs and vga. right now i use component and it will only let me go to 480p because it doesnt have the plugs for the hdtv component.

  • respond !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!please i have a HDMI with the same entrance head, can i use this instead of the standard cable

  • @luisgonzalez131 yes if you have a hd tv obviously you can but if not theres no point

  • thaaannksss man it worked 10/10 thanks!!!!!1

  • I connected my xbox with hd composite cables. put 1080p and when i play a game like nba 2k11 or COD: Black Ops it's a little slow to move. is it because of the screen size because mine is 46 inches

  • I need your help... So i used to run my xbox on a 37" flatscreen TV, now i have moved it to where my computer is, running a 22" flatscreen TV before i moved it, the xbox worked fine on a HDMI cable, as soon as i plug it in to this 22"tv and turn the xbox on nothing loads on screen although the xbox boots up, on screen it says, 'Adjust computer screen resolution to 'blahhh' at 60GHZ', there isnt an option, what should i do? i hate playing in the crappy standard 3 colour cables quality...

  • @amoza17 yes

  • Some Tvs cannot automatically match resolution with the 360 so therefor quality can be sometimes better with VGA

  • Ok so i did the HDMI setup, but now i can only hear speaking from my headset.. what should i do?

  • @imjuke Check your voice settings in Halo. See also Dashboard: My Xbox: System Settings: Console Settings: Audio. And Xbox Guide: Settings: Preferences: Voice.

  • Hey guys do you have to have audio cables to get audio with hdmi ?????

  • Its a way better on HDMI.Sharper graphic and better.

  • wiv the hdmi cable, will all the game be in 1080 ias well? thanks!

  • Which do you think looks better, VGA or HDMI?

  • @prestono99 VGA and HDMI look pretty much the same to me, but HDMI is newer than VGA, so I would buy HDMI if I have the newer Xbox 360 with the HDMI output.

  • @prestono99 Vga looks better but hdmi sounds better

  • @prestono99 depends on the tv

  • @amoza17 VGA is better than composite, so you should see an improvement.

  • @maxlimitzz Is VGA better then HDAV(HD composite)? As my TV is somewhat old and does not have an HDMI port, only VGA and AV(HD). Also, is there a big difference between HDAV with 480p and 720p? Thanks!

  • How mutch you pay for this cable? This is M$ or bigben, or some noname?

  • there must be better with HDMI, ok i must spend little money on HDmi cable and maybe some 2 dollar adapter BUT its worth it

  • Have you tried to connect PC with TV using VGA to HDMI cable ? My TV has a HDMI input and PC VGA output. One is digi and other one is analog.

  • what do you have reference levels on ? do you ffind difference between any ? i cant :O

  • Hello can anyone tell me how to get for xbx in system display 60 HZ my tv supports that but xbox just takes 50 HZ.I am using HDMI cable 1080p and toshiba Tv anyone knows this solution thx

  • i have an HD tv and i have a HDMI i tried the HD tv standerd with the 360 then with the HDMI

... i see no diffrence. is something sopposed to look better?

  • @lilHippo i dont think so but the mlg tournaments use vga. i think it makes it lag less

  • @lilHippo the hdmi and the 360 cable is the same thing, neither will look better or worse

  • anyone i need help with my xbox 360 composite cables

    /watch?v=Mvd5FBchRNU

  • RGB should be used for gaming the YCBcr709 is more for DVD's...

If you set auto or sauce I believe it switches to RGB for games anway.

Ycbcr709 doesn't work with reference levels only RGB. Many videos I've seen comparing 360 to ps3 has had the 360 too bright with flushed out colors and its all because people pick ycbrcr709 because it says high definition lol It also says its used for high definition movies.

  • Can you use all the ends at onece? Like for example you use the red, yellow, and red for your recording device then use the hdmi end for your xbox then use the VGA end for your HDTV?

  • r u in europe? because ur using pal format

  • @marlo1204 Yep, I'm in Europe.

  • @maxlimitzz cool!

  • ur thumb bends alot lol

  • Ok, I have a hdmi to dvi adapter, and the av cable plugged into my xbox 360, the image works from the hdmi, and the sound works from the av cable, but in case you were wondering, most DVDs won't work like this, only games work :)

  • hey dont plug the av and the hdmi while the xbox turned on because it will cause the red ring of death

  • @bo7mod2009 yes ur right it does

  • i dont get it..i just brought a new tv and its on 1080p but does hdmi cable make it more hd or no?

  • Bro, thank you so much for this video. I had to hook my xbox up blind, and this definitely helped me out. thank you so much

  • i connected my xbox into my computer monitor using a HDMI to DVI adapter. it didn´t work. but then, when i put it back in my tv (sony bravia 32') it doesnt display. the console works perfectly, i can open and close the tray, turn on and off from the controller, etc. i've tried to change the hdmi settings blindly, as it may be a solution. but it didn't work either

how can you think i can solve this? thank you very much in advance, im desperate.

--can connecting it to a 180p.tv be the solution?

  • @dann12o switch off the system without a game in the drive, then switch it back on again using the controller, hold down both the right trigger and the Y button, this should reset your screen setting back to normal.

  • I have used a HDMI to DVI converter.. and still the image on my monitor is fairly pixelated.. is there a way to solve this.. eg is vga better than dvi??

  • @morganraynerphil the xbox cant exept the dvi only vga av components and hdmi

  • when i put my hdmi cable's in iets say out of range i tryd every thing can some one help?

  • about capturing when you put it in HDMI well get good quality or it dose not matter if it in HD or VGA

  • can u record a dazzle with those cords? Like use the av cables to the dazzle, VGA cable to the tv, then the HDMI to the xbox?

  • @OnEsHoTx02 Hey there i dont understand your question to much...you cant have all these 3 cables pluged at the same time!

  • should i get vga or hdmi for my xbox 360?

  • @joshuadelapenha they are the same vga will cost u loess

  • lol my xbox 360 slim was sooooooo annoying to setup to hd. i had a logitech hdmi cable for my ps3, and i decided to use that for my 360. i plugged it in, and it said unsupported media output or something. but i could still hear sound. so i used the pictures from this video to navigate blindly though the menu and select my settings.

And it finally worked. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO

    xD

  • @SpartanDara117 lol awseome nice

  • @MrFunk911 ya it was pretty wild

  • Do you find a difference between HDMI and VGA?

  • @huzaifah123 Not really. HDMI and VGA are both good.
