Everything you just said only proves that he IS Superman. If he didn't learn jack from what had happened he would've gave in to Chloe. Doing what he did proved he learned from his father's death. Had he gave into Chloe, someone else would've died in her place.

Chloe has every right to grieve, but she has to look at it from his point of view. Everyone looks at him to be some sort of God. She shouldn't have put that pressure on him.

Clark is NOT an ass. He is doing what is right.

@NamanIV Clark altered time in season 8 yet again. He STUPIDLY told his secret but changed time since it messed up his personal life. Yet Oliver handles the same situation with little problems in season 10. Also, Clark did NOT lose his father due to altering time. That writing plothole always bothered me since Clark lost Jonathan through natural means. Jonathan had a history of temper issues and already had a heart that was giving out because he got Kryptonian powers in season 3. Clark IS an ass

@NamanIV In fact, that entire Jor-El going to take the life of someone close to Clark was NEVER sensibly handled since. Jor-El DIDN'T take the life of anyone (yet the show acts like he did which is ANNOYING). Lana died by not paying attention to the road while speeding and hit a bus (that ironically was from them school she graduated from). I already went over Jonathan. Clark's a hypocritic moron asshole in this show because the writers failed at making proper sense. Just terrible logic there.

@xOmniCloudx Uh, Clark lost his dad because someone had to die that day, not because he went back in time. Taking the life force of someone he loved doomed them to die at some point in the future. Don't ask me how Jor-El did it, he has magical kryptonian technology. Clark realized this AFTER he had already altered time, hence dead Johnathan. I see no failure in writing, only your individual failure to understand.

The events do NOT match up with what was said AT ALL no matter how much the show wants to lie to itself and the audience. I'm sorry you don't understand basic logic but that's the truth. Smallville has had VARIOUS plotholes, inconsistencies and logic that made no sense over the years so I'm not surprised that they failed as hard as they did to matching up proper events with previous statements.

@xOmniCloudx Revealing his secret identity in season 8 was, at the time, the only thing Clark could do that didn't violate his no-killing policy. Clark only had ammo against Water-lady-whateverthefuckhern­ameis because he had KNOWLEDGE OF THE FUCKING FUTURE and how the woman was going to act. Therefore he had time to prepare. He had to go back in time or risk the people he loved getting hurt to get to him.

@xOmniCloudx And another thing. This 'one thing' is BRINGING SOMEONE BACK FROM THE FUCKING DEAD. I've already discussed this, but that kind of thing tends to end pretty badly. The circumstances in Reckoning for instance, were engineered by Jor-El. He used the life energy of someone Clark loved to bring him back from the dead, and his attempt to save them just meant someone else was going to die instead. If you can't get over the fact that it was Final Destination-esque, then that's your problem.

clark is selfish!... he knows the consequences about going back in time when he tried to save lana's life. he knows a lot yet he ignore it because she is the love of his life. then, when chloe [his SUPER BEST FRIEND ] ask him for help to save jimmy's life.... he just simply ignored... i dont think clark is a good friend to chloe as much as chloe to him...

This was so sad. But I'm glad Jimmy didn't come back, Chloe and Oliver were meant for eachother. Chloe was expecting Clark to be her hero but he wasn't. It was Oliver Queen.

I truly love this scene. Both of them weren't wrong in what they said: Chloe had been more or less abandoned for three weeks, immediately after her husband died. Of course she's going to try to get him back; she loved him, and just wants everything to go back to normal.

And the fact that Clark's realized that he has no right to decide who lives and who dies is a great thing: it's a lesson he should have learned a long time ago.

ohh let's not forget..half way through Season 9 she ends up with Oliver...jimmy was only gone for what 4-5 months..and she's already over him. Now I understand there's a grieving period..Oliver was also getting over Lois as well...I just find it so weird that the whole Chloe/Oliver relationship came about...BLAH. whatever...At least Lois and Clark is on the right path..now I just want Clark to finally become the HERO he's supposed to be.

Chloe has been shady for the past several years, but it wasn't until Season 8 when I really didn't like what she was doing. She lied to both Jimmy (who is her husband) and to her best friend aka Clark. She ran off with Doomsday and didn't even try to explain..she even had some what feelings for Davis too. She was seriously screwed up in Season 8. Even if she was "trying to protect her loved ones" She should take more blame into his death than Clark.

She had sacrificed so much, and the things she went through by his friend, to tell you the truth, I'm kind of surprised that she hung around as long as she had. Now, she needed him, just as she needed him then but again, he turned his back on her. I guess, Chloe just couldn't take it anymore.

After watching the first half of Season 9, I'm wondering if it was Clark thinking Lois was dead for him giving up his human side, b/c at first you assume it is Jimmy being killed, but after Clark sees Lois is still alive in "Savior", he begins to reconnect with his friends.

one of the most emotional ones in this season premiere. although it's totally unfair of Chloe to ask, it was still heartbreaking. and when Tom said "I'm not God" - one of the best lines of the episode. it's also nice to see that Clark's finally begun to find his own way, and be more confident in his decisions.
