  • i really want to spear fish, but wouldn't sharks come because the blood in the water would attract them? sound kinda dangerous to me. and holy crao you can hold your breath for a long time. what do you think of pneumatic spear guns?

  • jdskinner is spearfishing fun and wouldnt sharks come from the blood of the fish

  • Nice video. Water looks murky. YouTube....oahusquid.....check out the HUGE tiger shark my son and I ran into while spearfishing in Hawaii.

  • wow awesome video

  • 4:15 SUCKER!

  • Two things, first, if I was spearfishing with you shot in my direction I would probably beat the living shit out of you. You need to learn some safety! Second where is this in Oki? Is that a bridge in the begining?

  • Isn't it illegal to use spearguns in Japan? I thought you are only allowed to use pole spears. But cool video!

  • @dekachin007 - only if the underwater police catch you.....lol, j/k You will hear many mixed answers to that question, most say it's illegal to use a speargun...but it's ok to have with you to defend your self. stores that sell guns say it's ok to use as long as you don't sell the fish you catch. Better to ask forgiveness then permission, as long you you don't spear in populated areas like sunabe, zampa, maeda, any beach....ect. you are fine. Never seen a cop at my dive spots in over 5 years.

  • I had a Rob Allen 130 cm tuna railgun and Im only 5'4" and I can handle the power. Its not joke speargun and its a amazing on accuracy most of my catch was a stone kill, I only got it from someone traded my Beuchat Marlin 110cm and now I traded that Rob Allen to a Riffe standard #4 61" and its a little bit easier to load. I gues i got a good deal on this its a $700 speargun nice!!

  • 0:10 ma a quanto scendi? O_o

4:14 hai sparato e dietro stava il tuo amico!? pazzo!

  • Damn you almost killed your partner "2X" thats some crazy shit !! you get to excited and didnt think about safety first, you almost got a double catch hahahaa!!! thats some noob stuff man, you suppose to spear side by side on the blue , but his in the firing area instead, you need to learn about safety on spearfishing!!

  • @jdskinner Nice video and great shooting as well, very impressed with your breath hold. The first part of the video where it looks like you dove 75 feet or more, where on Okinawa was this. Just wondering because the water is so deep and yet there are pylons going down quite a bit, is this off of Ikei by the oil platforms? Great video!!!!

  • You really put it to the mahi mahi! Thats a nice speckled emporer too! Whats that that second fish after the squid? The very first part are you under tengan?

  • chevelle!!!

  • You could've shot that other guy at 4:20!

  • 4:40 look in the top right corner

  • where at in okinawa was this?

  • hey was that a redgill emperor?

  • 4:13 are u stupid as hell?

  • where in okinawa is this?

  • i live in okinawa and want to go spearfishing soo bad, but it seems like i will spend a small fortune on all the gear! and do you have to have someone with you ? its probably the safest huh

  • Nice fishing great video

  • Yep. I could only imagine what kind of fight could be put on by a good sized GT on hook and line. I've seen some of these fish have a big fight with a spear in them. Pretty entertaining.

  • @jdskinner hi can i paint my riffe like that... or its going to ruin my wood

  • No point in shooting the GT.

Poor eating qualities and should be left for the fishing rod.

  • @ParallelSolutions We cooked it up on the grill and it was very good tasting. Damn near any fish, if cooked right, can be good. Also, you fish with a rod for the fight of a good fish, we spear big fish also for the fun of the fight. It's just a different method.

  • @jdskinner Okay well if that's your opinion then so be it. I am a keen spearfishermen just as I am a keen fishermen. By the looks of it you have some better reef species for a feed. Chuck a popper out for the GT's I'm sure you will get a bigger thrill.

    Happy spearing.

  • where is okinawa?

  • japan

    remember karate kid

    byes

  • amazing video very good fishing

  • What is better than Chevelle for this vid??? AWESOME!

  • 4:14 - muzzle control much? yikes.... other then that, great vid

  • Too true!!!! So close to his buddy!!!!

  • LOL! Agreed.

  • is that abe with the GT?

  • stoned that last dolphin, the rig dive looked deep

  • that gun is awesome for a single band

  • why doesn't anybody shoot reef sharks? I've tried to chase them down at Torii but can't catch them.

  • whats the point of that? your u going to eat it?

    shoot a shark......

  • the point of spearfishing is to go after fish for your table. you SHOULD only shoot fish you intend to eat. even trophy size like that giant trevally in this vid. and shooting sharks is a BAD idea. think about it, you definitely arent going to kill a shark with one spear, then youre connected to that shark while he pissed cuz some jackass shot him with a little piece of metal.

  • orspearo666, i hope u dont think i would shoot a shark, when i said "shoot a shark...." i ment it like why would u unless ur going to eat it

that comment was to devonblaine about shootn sharks

  • well... you never know. people have asked me crazier things than "have you shot a shark" when they find out i spear.

  • Of course he's going to eat it... Cuttlefish is one of the BEST reef fish that Okinawa has to offer, In my opinion.

  • haha on that gt he bent his shaft like all fuck

  • whats the first song??

  • dam he darts down to the bottom

  • What kind of gun is that? how long?

  • Very good shots!!!!!!!!!!

  • man if i was his friend i would be like holy shit im his next target ahhhhhh!!!!

  • where in okinawa do you spearfish? and are triggered spears allowed in okinawa?

  • This looks so awsome ;)

Almost like a firstplayer shooter ;)

  • WTF, at 4:15 you almost shot your friend! I'd never go diving with that motherfucker!

  • He was out of my range. If you don't think I know what my range is, you probably don't know the first thing about spearfishing.

  • jdskinner.....You're right, I don't know anything about spearfishing, but I do know about safety. If I'm shooting a gun and someone was in the line of fire even if out of range you shouldn't take the shot. It's not worth killing your friend over a fish even if he's out of range. That's how stupid avoidable accidents happen, but you know what your doing and I don't. Nice video other than my comment.

  • Well said 1CME90 unlike those who cuss and swear when they see something like that.

  • Good Point, you could have told me earlier though i may have to go over my safety rules, I am 13

  • Good Point, you could have told me earlier though i may have to go over my safety rules, I am 13

  • @jdskinner what is the first thing about spearfishing ? and what about the shooting line break ?? is the first thing of spearfishing work then??

  • it looks like a spearfishing fps video game.

it would be a good video game.

  • What's the first song?

  • what gun

  • its a rob allen carbon fiber , its a very good gun, the only thing crapy about it is the safety it tends to get stuck.. mako spearguns make a very similar gun for a lower price... check them out!!!

  • I used a Rob Allen 120cm custom camo carbon railgun in this video.

  • 1:23 the squid turned dark and sprayed ink befor u shot him .......that awkward never happned to me befor they always are unaware and remain still ....even if they notice me the wouldnt change colour and spray ink befor i shoot

  • holy cr@P!! you almost had to brain and string up ur friend!!!

  • Sick

  • your lucky you didnt plug your friend at 4:17

  • whats the songs name

  • This is bad ass...where was this?

  • Okinawa Japan......

  • where did u get those sick wet suits

  • whats the name of this song?

  • Great vid, bro! I just picked up a hawaiian sling today and I'd like to get out soon to have a go at some of these fish. I still need to pick up some tips, did you get your rig at Tsunami Gear, off base, or order it?

Where would be a good part of the island to get started?

    Thanks.

  • dude did u shoot a octopus or a squid or sumtin that ink'd? and y u shoot so close to ur bud!!!!!!

  • cuttlefish

  • Hey great vid man :D

BTW does anyone know the name of the songs?

  • nice mahi mahi at the end

  • thats hectic!!!

  • some dude just recently shot the malabar grouper world record in okinawa with a rob allen carbon like the one youre using.

  • That's cool.

  • Yeah, if you're talking about the WR in the latest HSD, That's my buddy Abe. I took those pictures coincidentally.

  • dude awesome vid good work ay

  • dude wtf at 4:14.. why would you shoot that close to your friend.. you could have shot him

  • lol. holy shit.

  • let me ask you a question im new at spearfishing, and i was wondering if its ok to dive back to back or should i wait about 1-2minutes before ever dive.

  • Good rule is to allow 3 times the amount of time on the surface as the time you dove. So a 1 minute dive would be 3 on the surface to get your heart rate down and get the O2 up. Dive safe, my friend :)

  • what to you mean back to back ?

  • sweet fishing but i do agree with the guys saying you shot too close to your buddy.Oh and nice bent shaft on the GT how much did it weigh? I have a rabitech and the only time I bent a shaft was pulling back on a 200lb fish.

  • holy shit man, haha. got any photos?!

  • Taken from previous post:

"It took me a minute to realize what you were saying about the 4:14. Dude he was way out of my way by the time I shot. Think about the angle of the camera compared to the angle of the gun. They point at opposite angles. Plus he was out of my range."

  • I was wondering if Okinawa, Japan had spearfishing which is kinda obvious. Crystal clear waters and an abundance of life down there. Thanx for uploading this.

  • Nice gun mate, i have the exact same in the 1100. Do you use two 20mm rubbers or two 16mm bands?

  • You shoot too near from your friend,in my opinion.

    Your skills are extraordinary,undoubtablely.

  • Great footage, and excellent choice in music

  • nice vid man. What kind of gun is that you using?

  • WTF!!!

How do dive down that far?Do you wear em special ear-plugs?

  • Nothing special about it. just a deep breath and some relaxation.

  • Are you sure...coz i know the pressure your ears go through because of the lack of "oxygen"??

Definitly from experience i couldnt stay down in 3m deep water for long coz of the pressure..

  • But it's probably just me...

I'd love to go spear fishing one day soon but with all the shark attacks i think i'll stick to the rod..lol.

By the way have you tried spearfishing at nigh?

  • too dangerous at night. Normal fishing is cool, but gidging to so fun, u gotta try it sometime

  • Whats gidging??

I use to go spear fishing at night with my dad.1 spear (old school with the rubber sling), a bag and under-water torch.

Scary as hell but it was easy because some fish sleep and they just ly there still as a rock...easy target.

  • its a metal rod with 4 sharp barbs at the end and at the other get its got a rubber band

  • hi drshakalu619

  • night diving is cheating..you can blind them with light and they don't move..more attacks by sharks at night aswell...

  • Haha......true but a man's gotta eat!

  • wats the songs?

  • It's Chevelle. Can't remember the name. It's on their latest CD though. It's worth checkin out.

  • cool

  • Awesome footage man, the camera angle is sweet. Would love to see how you mounted it and what you were using. Loved the video, Thanks for sharing!

  • Ojyouzu desu ne. Try to shoot at a merlin next time. Fairer fight, more adrenalin :D

  • wow great free dive and shots.

  • im gonna get into spear fishing

should i always use a float even if im spearfishing off little reefs that are like 6 meters deep ???

  • no way mate unless your speering fish 7kg +

  • Damn! you friend always in your way, you almost speared the other diver at 4:19

  • oi man your my friggen hero, man this i a great video good work

what type of camera mount are u using

oi man im craving a spear like crazy, but i broke my foot

    ahah

    keep it up mate

    god bless

  • Skin-dog, thats some nice video work!! I love it, the part I like the best is when you shoot that nice taman. sick!!! please tell me how you mount your camera on your gun? or whatever you use. the rigs looks nice, wish I could have filmed the monster GTs I shot there, biggest one to date is 92lbs. aloha, Reyton

  • looks like doom

  • do you have any problems with recoil with the two rubbers and the RA carbon , im assuming thats what type of gun it is because of the cammo.

it took me some getting used to but know i just use my rabitech apex carbon its soo much nicer

and doesnt have as much recoil

    cheers

by the way nice spearin over there love to go over and have a look

  • Actually, that was the one time I over powered my gun. It was way too much with what I had which was a 20mm rubber and a short 16mm band. It was stupid of me to do that, but I packed a punch. Mahi come up so close you don't need all that power. I was thinking about Wahoo (which we didn't see any of) when I put that rig on. And yes it was a problem with recoil, accuracy, and loading it was a pain in the ass! Dual 16's is fine and I like a single 20 the best. My RA is spot on.

  • top footage what are the camera setups that use use worth in aussie dollars

  • nice video.

the cuttlefish u shot has alot of ink.

    kudos

  • sic vid wats the song

  • really nice vid good jack

  • It took me a minute to realize what you were saying about the 4:14. Dude he was way out of my way by the time I shot. Think about the angle of the camera compared to the angle of the gun. They point at opposite angles. Plus he was out of my range.

  • word! cheked it again. he's out of range. but still looks crazy :) ...thinking of line breaks too, even that almost never happens if you keep check the gun before fishing. and hell yeah I agree cuttlefish tastes bloody good!!

  • I luv cuttlefish! Tastes beautiful i say... Keep it up jdskinner good camera work!

  • Nice shots!

  • dude, i cant watch it. friggin flash player wont work.

  • by the way.. where in okinawa is this and how deep?

  • The first dive was to 91 feet. The rest varies between 30 and 60.

  • Dude, Cuttlefish is actually really good eating. Ummm, I can shoot and video shooting whatever I want. Don't like it? Don't watch. On another note. The guy I went out with owns a restaurant, and loves for us to shoot just about anything so that he can serve it to his customers.
