Man cant u drive str8 r have u been drinkin alcohol ...the boy say no officer i dnt think so ...young man say i can deal ..... staggerin he say ill check yall lata....u better stop his ass b4 he gets behind the wheel!!!!!!!
I remember this commercial when it first came out. I was about 7 years old at the time. It taught me well. When I drive, the most I'll drink is one glass of beer. Besides, I already have one friend in the grave.
I feel you. The first time I heard a message like this in my life, I already know the dangers of it. And that's why I'm a NON-ALCOHOLIC til the day I die. I Love Driving and I Don't Want Anything..or Do Anything that will take away my driving priveleges, not even for a day. It ain't worth it.
Wow. :) This is really awesome! :) I myself am against drinking and driving.
"Give me the keys." That is exactly what I would say to a friend of mine if the friend was drunk and wanted to drive, and then grab his (or her) wrist and try to pull the keys away. I agree -- friends don't let friends drive drunk! :)
Man, I haven't seen this commercial in YEARS! Since about '85, actually. I always thought it was Stevie himself saying "look, give me the keys". Heh, anyway, thanks for posting it.
Hmm...for some reason I remember seeing a print ad that quoted Stevie Wonder as saying "Before I ride with somebody who's drunk, I'll drive myself." I thought it was funny, and made a good point.

Oh, Stevie did an ad warning people not to drink and drive. I thought the ad was going to show Stevie behind the wheel driving drunk. lol!

Damn, they should play this today, despite the fact that it's dated, because it's damn catchy! lol.

There was an ad in Spain with the same song, with the motto "Si bebes no conduzcas", "Don't Drive Drunk"

Stevie must have been drunk, driving his cousin's car, when he had his accident. He was on much higher ground

A bad combination would be Stevie driving and Helen Keller directing traffic.....

I remembered the same thing about that line. Were there two versions or did Eddie Murphy do an SNL comedy skit parody?

I'd rather drive with the drunk guy than the blind guy, no offense Stevie.

What would be more dangerous - if Stevie Wonder drove while drunk...or if he drove sober? ;)
jpowell180 4 years ago
Either way, I wouldn't want to be on the passenger side.

That was the last good song he wrote after Superstition. My cousin said it was because he got addicted to heroin again.

The Fuck are you and your cousin talking about.
bubbiem80 3 years ago
@spekfoo Stevie never was addicted to heroin...Stevie doesn't drink....As for the 'heroin' comment, you're thinking of Ray Charles.

Yeah, my school consoler has a poster that has to be framed because it is so ripped up from old age, but it has Stevie's picture up with that quote.
