Ha-yeah it's a piece of paper. I was in South Africa while recording this and a lot of their traditional instruments have this buzzing sound to them, so I thought I would follow suit.

@webandit1 For shame... For shame. Let the man be his own genius. Further, James Taylor has nothing on Justin, or Andy McKee, or countless thousands of others. I cant understand why or how you could even mention someone as crappy as James Effing Taylor here!? It's blasphemy to all things good and right about music!
@jasspie I believe the song itself was inspired during his travels in Africa, some time before the album's release 10 years ago. Maybe he picked up the trick there...but then again it's not present on the album version...so you could be right!:)
I LOVE Justin King AND this is my favorite song by him, but I don't think I like that sound w/ that muffler (or whatever the heck it's called) on the neck near the sound hole. Sounds pretty bad to me. Later...
I favorited this because this just sounds AMAZING out of my speakers haha.

@Justinguitar well you have my unending support! You should play while james tatlor sings! or at least cover some of his songs with your own twist.

One has to experiment now and then ;) I like the idea of this sounding like speakers clipping

@JustinKing4 what exactly is that device Sir King? :P

That thing on the end of the fretboard is suppose to make a unique sound but ends up making you speakers appear clipping even if they aren't.

Is he by chance trying to mimic some kind of african instrument? He just recently went to south africa. Maybe he picked up the trick there?
