This is not really Doom Metal is an Operatic Death Metal, not everything slow in metal is doom... the sound is good but the female voice has nothing to do with the music... this is noy Epica, ReVamp, Withing Temptation, Leave Eyes, or something like that... 5/10

I am a christian and I love death/doom.It is a good thing that apart from the bands that stay away from religious lyrical themes (I really appreciate these bands),there are some christian bands,because there are too many satanic bands in metal in general and that makes everybody who has nothing to do with metal think that all metalheads are satanists.This is absolutely not true! @myrufabr4 I also think you are wrong because if you read the lyrics, Andrew the vocalist describes his journey from darkness to light... and if you listen to this album it starts of dark and then finishes with a hopefull message. I would encourage you to read the lyrics and listen to the entire album as oppose to listening to one song, this album is very much a concept record. This album is very much the testimony of the founder of the band.

Metal, like any other genre of music, is intended to put forth one's belief. Black metal was first created as a form of rebelling against mainly the government while Unblack metal was created as a way to rebel against places like rural Europe's anti-christian beliefs.
Music in general is a tool, it is not good or bad in and of its self, the people that are behind the instruments is what makes the band, sound has nothing to do with it, its what is put forth in the lyrics and the bands beliefs

Probably for the best, metal is bigger than black metal or grindcore and it is questionable whether grindcore is metal... I'd say personally it has more in common with punk.

It wouldn't surprise me. I kinda stopped listening to them when their second album came out, as it became pretty clear what their agenda was. Unfortunately alot of worldly music has the anti-christ spirit all over it! Some secular rock/metal is still cool though. If in doubt pray about it man!

Metal, like any other genre of music, is intended to put forth one's belief. Black metal was first created as a form of rebelling against mainly the government while Unblack metal was created as a way to rebel against places like rural Europe's anti-christian beliefs.
Music in general is a tool, it is not good or bad in and of its self, the people that are behind the instruments is what makes the band, sound has nothing to do with it, its what is put forth in the lyrics and the bands beliefs

@zombie161 And bands like Akercocke and Watain don't alienate Christian metal heads??? Some genres and sub genres are condusive for particular ideologies... Like Black Metal started out being blasphemous from the get go. Doom for the most part has always been pro christian in my opinion at least. You do get the odd band like Electric Wizard and Unearthly Trance that have satanic lyrics.

good point but still doesnt make sense to use black metals meterial, to chiristananity its a really dumb idea and seems vary hypacritical, and at times like this i wish that religon was never invented,cause its never good with things like this, but on a positive note, we got decide, and all those awesome bands, but when this is here that really brings my piss to a boil.

@zombie161 As with every faith and philosophical group my friend, Christianity has its own phoney believers and some others that do believe that are just bad at following the moral code of God. I agree with you in the sense that people should be able to enjoy the music that they luv, you just have to find the bands that you agree with philosopically.

i agree with that, and i do, but it really doesnt excuse the fact on y black metal or death metal should sound exactly like doom metal, theres really nothing intresting about it because we've heard it already but discusted that they dont give a shit whats the meterials about and use it just for the religon consumer will like it because its christain. soooall in all its hypacritical in every way and just should be death or black metal, theres no reason for this to be here.

@zombie161 Thats a matter of opinion my friend, all true metal has a spirituality, be it Christian, Satanic or Pagan but have bones that every metal band is trying to put forward their belief... With the poss exception of the gore based death metal bands. I dunno though man, Black and Death Metal are great and all that but Doom still beats it hands down, thats just my opinion, esp Traditional Doom Metal, like Sabbath, Candlemass and Trouble.

Probably for the best, metal is bigger than black metal or grindcore and it is questionable whether grindcore is metal... I'd say personally it has more in common with punk.

You sound like the kid, you sound like you cant be over 15! What the hell do you know about metal, its a genre of music, and its not strictly based on darkness. Music is a tool, so its not dark nor good, whatever the people are, thats what the music is, there is no such thing as "dark music"
And doom metal is one of the greatest forms of metal there is, but you dont know anything about metal, so you wouldnt know.

I agree this guy doesn't know much about metal, if he did... He would realise that bands like Black Sabbath used to write about the occult in a negative sense, as in not to get involved with it. And Judas Priest, Iron Maiden and Venom were tongue in cheek lyrically. Essentially too if you don't like doom then you don't like metal end of story.

The fact that you can take the darkness in metal seriously communicates to me that you really must be about 10 years old, coz no adult would take the satanism of bands like Venom and Bathory seriously. I must say, if you don't like people to say such stuff about the music you like, why would you need to speak badly about other peoples music. And just cause some bands talk about Satan in their music, doesn't mean that they actually believe in that stuff. I listen to some Christian bands aswell. Whether someone believes in a book that has been put in front of them, is their choice. And I listen to Power metal even tho I don't believe in fairytales. We stick with the music.

Plus I think a lot of its open to interpretation, so if u have lyrics saying screw your god, well yeah I agree, screw the god of this world, they dont know my God, so they cant be talking about him.

It wouldn't surprise me. I kinda stopped listening to them when their second album came out, as it became pretty clear what their agenda was. Unfortunately alot of worldly music has the anti-christ spirit all over it! Some secular rock/metal is still cool though. If in doubt pray about it man!
