  • Ewwww OCZ, get crucial or intel

  • RIP Alfred ):

  • how do u know if u conncted ur ssd to ata-130 or sata 300?

  • if i was the cameraman id quit !!^!!

  • he was nerdy back then

  • Hi, I need to know if this motherboard is good enough for gaming. GigaByte GA-X58A-UD3R Intel X58. I'm going to have overclocked i7 980x 4.2Ghz, 2 grpahic card ATI Radeon HD 5970 PCI-E 16X 2GB GDDR5 Video Cad and 6GB..OR SHOULD I PAY MORE AND GET THE GigaByte GA-X58A-UD7 Intel X58? Thanx.

  • Does that email address still exist or work to be able to email him and ask him qustions?

  • How come geeks keep calling SATA 'Sata?' It is S-A-T-A!!

  • i think i know what happend to his hand, when he put that harddrive in raid with 12 ssd drives he saw the results and wanked so hard he broke his hand

  • Core series is shit. Stay away--jmicron controller

  • i bet this guy knows more about computers than u could even dream about

  • the opposite. then you're right. those guys are girlish and boring. i dont understand what the hell they talking about. you can tell just by watching them. they are far from being an enthusiast. but i guess that is what they believe they are.

  • well granted they do work for company that sells computer products so its their job to sell the product but they do know what they are talking about, and how do you not know what theyre talking about?, i dont know thats your opinon i guess

  • i know. anyway. what i mean is that, they just overdo it a little. and it fits for people that are not experienced with computer,

  • Im not defending tiger direct but Im pretty sure he knows his sata from power mate but yeah, i believe raid 0 is possible in 2+ drives

    Read it in wiki :)

  • Do you have to defrag a SSD or not? If so which software should you use.

  • @MagnusVideos no defragging will pwn the drive, because of the wearing of the memory, the wear only happens with writing and deleting to defragging will be doing a lot of that to the drive and you can wear them out faster

also there is no need to defrag because every part of the drive is accesable as the other unlike the circular nature of the hdd, soz if this is confusing but i had to read alot to get this so just look around would be best :)

  • wut is the biggest capacity of SSDs today?

  • Creeping to 300Gb

  • 250 on tiger i have seen a 2T one it will be at ces i think

  • not more of this Tiger nonsense

  • its 2.5 iam buying it for my ps3 right now :)

  • just bought a 120 core v2 for 220 bucks new!

  • SSDs are very nice.

    Also nice vid.

  • .15 million hours = 62500 days = 171 years lol

  • whats better this or corsair sdd??

  • Corsair has been terrible ever since the era of 3200 ram.

  • too much expensive !!

  • I call BS, speed is irrelevant if the random access speeds are rubbish, most SD drives (ignoring the intel units) have random write/read and cache speeds up to 20 times slower than a decent hardisk. How does this effect a user, well programs pause when they try to access the SD driv and no raid make no difference to this problem with SD drives..

  • SD=SSD, typo

    google "anandtech SSD understanding OCZ"

  • still not enough capacity, i fill me 150 gig raptor in no time with game and apps. They need to focus on capacity more.

  • OCZ has had some serious issues with their SSD's. Anandtech did an article a few weeks ago if anyone's interested.

  • they are the bom

  • I gotta get one of those little motherfuckers. Very Nice.

  • COOL , what happend your arm?

  • ski accident.

  • Not Very fast!!!... Look at the Vertex or Apex series from OCZ

  • wow this is too small for my hd case

  • Alberrt is wrong, the usb port is for the overclocking orb

  • Agreed.

  • How can they tell they will last that long if they have not even been out for that long?

  • if they run 171 drives for a year and none of them fail. thats how

  • It's complicated.

  • Cool Video A++++++++++++++++++++++++++

  • uhhhm sweet...

  • cool

  • solid state is the future :P

  • With 3 Velociraptors in RAID-0, he claims he barely gets 170MB/s. That's terroble. I average 155MB/s with two 7200RPM Seagates in RAID-0.

  • n o he says between 2 nd 3 he says gets 240mbs with 3 at max

  • mmmk

  • Again with these damn SSD Drives! HDD is still the way to go!

  • er no.

  • not anymore

  • and sooooo much more expensive .

  • dam thats quick...if only they'd get a bit cheaper

  • This is a repost

  • why can't they make 1TB SSD??? why must they make SSD so small??

  • They're working on it, I would love to have a couple of 1 TB SSD's in Raid.

And then a 64 GB SSD for the OS :P

  • nobody would buy them.. they're still really expensive. although thatd be completely awesome!! :)

  • They just aren't there yet. Remember, these are basically flash drive's .

  • don't flash drives have limited write cycles??

  • Not anymore

  • are u saying SSDs can run forever??

  • problablylblalblyyeylls

  • 1.5 million hours = roughly 171 years, which means it'll last even well after you die...however, that doesn't mean it'll last forever. ;)

  • how do they know the drive will last that long? even if they r wrong no one would know..

  • I'm not sure. Maybe they run really rigorous tests on the drives that simulate what regular usage would be over a very long span of time ...or, maybe they just make a very rough estimation by running the drive for about a month, then measuring the % of degradation.

So if it degrades 0.0487% in a month, that equals 0.5848% degradation per year (assuming it degrades linearly). Then it can be calculated that it'll last ~171 years ;)

  • They take into consideration the materials used, the chemical compounds and how they react to the elements they'll face while being used in a drive status.

    There's tons of ways.

  • wow.. thanks

  • if they made 1TB it would cost something like a GTX 295 or a QX9450

  • Um, try more than a GTX 295.

  • emm

no it will cost around 1000 grand

  • OCZ have made a 1tb SSD and Fusion-io have a 1.28TB PCI-E drive. Magnetic drives will stick around for storage for a few more years.

  • sweet :D

  • OCZ SSD IS GOOD for netbooks but too low capacity...

  • I am getting seriously freaked out that you don't have that cool beard.

  • its V2 now, is that new ?

  • wasn't this one already posted 2 days ago?

  • ten time AA
