Using Bill Gates for that Apple spoof was genius and he has a point about how the historical figures used in their ads may not have approved of their image being used at all, so why not just flip it and stick Charles Manson up there. I mean who's to say who the hell has the right? Fuck the arrogance of these big ad monsters.
Damn I passed him in the street the other day, should have given him some major respect but I flaked it.
If others followed his example in enough numbers, it would be significant. Better one or a few people do this than no one. However minimal, it is at least some kind of push back against the corporate lies and propaganda that we drown in every moment of every day. Viva Ron English!
How in the F!#? Does he get away with all this shit? I mean here he is in these videos totally confessing to what can be considered "vandalism" under the law?
I cant believe these have so few hits, I hope they stay that way for a while and I might be able to afford some of his work before its worth ALOT, which it will eventually.
Every individual has the right to free speech. Even the individuals that make up a corporation. If you don't like their message, don't buy their product. I love anti-corporate messages from people with Hot Topic belt buckles and Converse shoes. You like to be selective on which evil to support. You're all hypocritical.
youre genuinely an idiot...he never said that individuals in a corporation dont deserve a right to speak, he just said corporations.....a corporation is a hive mind and twist truths as a unit to achive sales and pervert innocent people and whats more corporations dont speak people that represent them do so they only get other people caught up in they're dirty work.
I remember seeing this on Free Speech TV a good while back. He does make some very interesting comparisons with his work, but at the same time I wonder. If corporations are all only existing for the sake of a profit, what would the world be like without corporations to manufacture everything we eat, drink, wear, watch, read, paint with, and other things?
hahahhahahha! i love his humor!!! he's very clever... i know most artists hate being labeled/categorized, but he seems more dadaist than pop surrealist to me, or perhaps both... he's full of contradictions! lol!
I love Ron's work and think he's very brave etc... but the one thing that bothers me about this video is why is he feeding his kids mcdonalds at the end of the video?

He has some good points, but on some points, he's full of shit.
"Corporations don't deserve free speech, people deserve free speech". I'm all for freedom of speech and expression. You know what makes up those "corporations"? People. If he really gives a shit about his 'art', he can raise some money and actually buy billboard space.
You don't get the point. The average person can't possibly compete with the corporations for ad space. Corporations may be made up of "people," but only the elite in those corporations are in control. And their only motive is PROFIT. Not the good of the people, profit. That's the point. You may disagree and think that he should purchase the billboard space, but you can't pretend like corporations promote the interests of people just because they are made up of people.
Not to mention, he can't say whatever he wants even if he DOES rent the billboard. They'll deny him the privilege of putting his art on the billboard if it's controversial. By stealing the space he can say whatever he feels needs to be said.
