Samurai Jack isn't an anime, it was made in North America by the same guy who made Dexter's Laboratory. No, Fridays got cancelled, because of low ratings for a rerun night and not just for a block of new episodes. They never had movies to start with it on Sundays, it was just reruns in those days. It was only at Saturdays mainly and Sundays, if there was time. Your way off.

I know alot of people pretty much slowly stopped watching Cartoon Network after Toonami, and after they stopped airing stuff like Dexter's Labortory, Power Puff girls, Teen Titans and ect.

The only time I can remember where I personally watched the channel at those times was for Adult Swim, and that was just to watch the anime runs. Now even adult swim is bleh.
