  • smart guy.... a corporate coup d'etat sounds about right

  • I agree with what most of what Chris Hedges says...but,comparing the christian right with the new atheists as both being fundamentalists....i am not sure is correct....

  • @sangeetosho I believe it is. He means it in the sense they, the fundamental atheists and christians, subscribe to an unflinching dogma that whoever does not believe what they do ( jesus and intervening God in Christian right, and nothingness and "fact" and "reason" in atheism ) do not have a place in a civilized society and therefore fundamental believers of either christianity or atheism take it upon themselves to force everyone else to do things they think are "right."

  • chris hedges thinks bil laden done 9/11 what an idiot

  • @azeivio bin laden typo

  • america is and never was set up to be a democracy, its a polyarchy search noam chomsky polyarchy,

  • our country has been in a downward spiral for years unfortunately the mainstream media is the perfect propaganda machine, its sad to think that these so caled journalists, are either brainwashed to the point that they cant see whats going on ,or worse they know an just dont care, jfk was the last real president we had, and the fed took him out when he signed executive order 11110

  • White people always think a white pseudo intellectual is amazing. This guy ain't shit. Just a another whtieboy peddling half truths to sell books.

  • @TheSupremewisdom knowledge can not be found in the epidermis

  • @TheSupremewisdom says the ignorant racist

  • amerikkka was DOA!

  • while its just a film 'network'; has a great scene where the control of the world is explained very well

  • do you have to speak hebrew to understand america polish euro jews better?lol what a stupid question 1:06:00

  • I am grateful for all the experience he has to back up his insight. This makes me consider that even though we've been taught in school that there are 3 branches of the US government (Executive, Legislative, Judicial), in reality there are 4, the 4th branch being The People (since the system of "checks and balances" is not limited to those conventional 3 branches, but includes the people as well). The intended influence and rights of The People of USA are increasingly eroded and trivialized.

  • Find me someone on the Right who can speak with such lucidity and who has Hedges' track record in journalism. Good luck, because you won't find him/her. There is no equivalent. All the Right has are cheap-assed religious rhetoricians, and gluttonous corporate ass-kissers.

  • THANK YOU FOR FLAGGING MY POSTS AS SPAM.

IT WILL SERVE NO OTHER PURPOSE THAN TO ENTICE READERS TO READ THEM.

THEY ARE NOTHING MORE THAN AN UNDERSTANDING OF THE SPIRIT OF THIS MAN.

  • While I'm (as always) impressed with Mr. Hedges objectivity and insight into his nation's actions and their effects world wide, I find it interesting that there was no mention of Julian Assange, or wikileaks, nor was there any attention payed to his book "Collateral Damage" named after the Baghdad incident (although I must admit I did nod off for about five or ten minutes, so I may have missed it).

  • You'll never see him and lakku piippu guy in the same room together... >_>

  • pretty smart man. but I think you have to look to a spiritual influence to explain the fall of USA, not just wars making the left look impractical and naive. europe is by US standards straight pinko communism so it seems there is a need for an additional element to explain the seemingly purposeful depravity of USA since 1950.

and to really get a grip on the big picture you have to also include the UFO phenomenon and the associated secrecy and implied secret powers that has to exist to keep that

  • @DanFrederiksen BLACK MAGIC

  • @DanFrederiksen I agree Dan, at first i'm thinking wow this guy is amazing, but I really wonder if guys like this are used by the power elite to sway public opinion. He chose to speak about the occupy movement with no mention of Ron Paul, whose message is very valid. The occupy movement is run by Lucis trust and the UN. I think one has to be a little leery of great intellects like this.

  • @Scotty1137 I think you also have to watch that paranoia doesn't run rampant : )

I doubt this guy has ulterior motives and he can't mention everything. I'm sure he'd agree with many of Ron Paul's positions.

  • @Scotty1137 His non-mention of Ron Paul is due to the fact that he doesn't want to say a single thing negative about Ron Paul, because he full realizes that SOME people have elevated Ron Paul to the position of a savior, and are not capable of seeing some very bad negatives about Ron Paul.

Dr. Webster Tarpley, on the other hand, another sharp intellect, does not hesitate to criticize Ron Paul, and even blasts him out of the water. There ARE no saviors today. The empire is finished.

  • @schism4291 can you point to what he says about Ron Paul. Thanks

  • @DanFrederiksen you loose all credibility when u start talking about 'spirituality'

  • @wardydave that is called prejudice

  • @DanFrederiksen naaa, its called 'i dont believe in the flying spaghetti monster, so why believe in the other flying spaghetti monster?" blind faith is for retards plain and simple

  • @wardydave then you must be a retard.

there is a jewish historian not part of the bible and not christian who writes about Jesus. and that's if you dismiss the bible entirely. how much evidence is there for the fucking spaghetti monster?

if you're going to mock something you better be damned sure you're right

  • @DanFrederiksen you must be a retard that thought i wrote something about jesus. o.0 I am 90% sure there isn't a god, but I am 100% sure there isnt a god that is like any religeous 'god'. ps Testimonium Flavianum has been proven a fake over and over. jesus might have existed but i can garantee he didnt walk on water or get resurected

  • all went downhill when he talked about 9-11. it was the CIA, and there are no terrorist other than the ones the CIA puppeteers. :fact: it blows my mind that a man of his intellect can't ascertain a controlled demolition on all 3 building. either he's a coward or he's a liar. (about the 9-11 tragedy)

  • chris hedges has some interesting things to say.... but how exactly does one "master" in divinity?

Really, I cant fathom the test you have to go thru to "master" divinity...

  • The coup d'etat took place on 22 November 1963, when the Elite murdered JFK, accelerated with the invasion of Viet Nam, and is now invading the Mideast and domestic US (via DHS).

  • @MarinaHill IT'S PURE POLITCAL CORRUOTION WITH THESE INTEREST GROUPS THAT CONTROL THE GREED MACHINES THAT OPPRESS US ALL. CHRIS KNOWS HIS SHIT. MA KNOWS AMERICAN HISTORY & FOREIGN POLICIES. POLITICS IN BED WITH BIG BUSINESS. THEY WANT AMERICA OPPRESSED FOR A REASON. CORPORATE GREED AND CORRUPTION....MAKES AMERICAN POWERLESS AND SLAUGHTER POOR ANIMALS TO KEEP FAST FOOD ADDICTIONS TO TOXIC SHIT THAT GIVES CANCER WHICH THE GREED MACHINES ALSO PROFIT FROM. AMERICANS ARE SO CLUELESS.

  • Wow, this guy knows a ton of crap...wish more people would listen to what he has to say. Good stuff, thank you.

  • This idiot has no idea why the economic collapse happened. It has nothing to do with glass stegall. I work at the largest bank in Canada, believe me the imbalances were in place in the American financial system for years due to excessive government regulation not gambling.

I still cant believe people believe that myth.

Do me a favour, work at a Canadian bank for 15 years then talk to me about why Canada's financial system is doing so well. Until then please shut the fuck up.

  • @treysparker

    Your post begs the question;

"And dare one ask, as one who works in banking, what great contributions have you made to Society, and for that matter to Mankind ?!"

Might I suggest that you run back into your 'Vault of Narcissism' where you can scream aloud, so that none have to hear your 'Verbiage'.

Rather lame to say the least.

  • @treysparker "due to excessive geverment regulation NOT GAMBLING," Hahahahahaha!!!! Do you read this stuff before you post it? Yes gambling works out so well for people all over the world. They win all the time.

  • There isn't ANY CONTENT within ANY business' today.....all over the united states, people aren't interested in their own integrity OR their content of their work!!!! Just look at all the colleges and universities that are puking out junk minded youths that have been lied to, they think they are ALL SMART!!! LOL and everyone wins all the time

  • Looks like we're still standing and doing much better. Obama 2012.

  • @nyyankfan05 War Crimes, Crimes Against Humanity...Obama should be tried and hung for his crimes...as should George Bush and his terrorist counterparts.

    .

  • @FincaQuijote Let me remind you that if you're a U.S. citizen, you just threatened the life of the President. Watch it.

  • @nyyankfan05 I threatened nobody...and you assume who I am...

  • WATCH ON YOUTUBE...'THE ONE PERCENT'....ANSO WATCH 'EARTHLINGS' AND THINK ABOUT HOW THE GREED MACHINES MAKE EARTHLINGS SUFFER.

  • i thought this was gonna be boring, but i can't stop watching.

  • Wow, I'm impressed. After all the rubbish on Youtube, I stumble upon a clear, rational thinker.

  • One of the smartest men of our time.

  • if the U.S. empire collapses then they don't have to give foreign aid anymore....let China give foreign aid.

  • Occupy is just another fad based on image, slogans and consumerism

  • So, lets do something!

  • The comments by the caller (from 2:11:50 to 2:13:20) about Christopher Hitchens was, I believe, the most insightful of all the comments by callers during this Q&A period to this interview. Of course, it is extremely difficult to differentiate among the many gems of wisdom that Chris Hedges shares in his discourse.

  • The Truth Hurts. He pretty much nails the atrocious fact to the wall, for everyone to see. A man of great intellect.

  • We all know that the presidents are just puppets on a string.Wikileaks are now disclosing info about Obama, and how he got in office. And since this information is coming out,I just wonder if anything is going to be done about this.

  • Hugely informative. I just discovered a brilliant man!

  • Is there an audio (mp3) of this discussion which can be downloaded?

  • @david8157 Just google youtube converter, sorted.

  • @erushbass

Thank you so much...I found youtube converter...what a great service.

    All the best :)

  • VOMIT FROM the fear! coward my PEEPEE u a wipe

  • @237Michael : In 'Collapse' Michael Ruppert tells the anecdotal story of the '100th Monkey'.

We may not need everyone to turn detective : one monkey per hundred may make all the difference in the World...

My best wishes to everyone who values and/or promotes the dissemination of this cogent presentation. Goodluck to us all !

  • I applaud the person/s who uploaded this. It was the closure of the doors St Pauls to #occupy protesters which first made me curious to understand what on Earth is going on. I quickly found a link to 'Money As Debt' by Paul Grignon and was deeply shocked by its content. In the months since I have discovered a lot of intelligent comment online but Mr Hedges survey of our predicament is the most penetrating, calm, balanced analysis so far. Tremendous intellect and integrity. Aloha from the 'UK' !

  • A well spent 3 hours!

  • A great thinker of our age. What a man,

  • i stopped watching as soon as i heard he had a masters in "Divinity"...seriously?

  • Comment removed

  • @ausjosh85 Lol, Well he did say that after he went to Divinity school he realized what a waste of time it was.

  • Comment removed

  • @ausjosh85

Yes he does have masters in divinity but you should still listen to this man he is very on the mark.

The entire system was hijacked a very very long time ago.

  • @CosmosPrivateer

Why should haivng a Masters in Divinity preclude someone from having a brain?

  • @CosmosPrivateer I never said it did, I simply repeated what he once said. That's a conclusion you jumped to.

  • @youtube:

  • Expected

  • America will get the brunt of horror that's coming Some counties will not feel that brunt of horror.

  • Chris Hedges is one of the few lucid voices in the Unitad States today. I wished Americans listened to people like him so they would have a chance to avoid the national economic, social and political disaster that will engulf their country.

  • @237Michael It won't just be America, it will be the world.

  • Comment removed

  • @237Michael

Don't worry it will be over quickly.

  • @237Michael Please tell me you're joking. While his intent is pure, Hedges has the intellect of a newborn monkey. Actually, I take that back; a monkey is smarter, it was born and remains an atheist. Maybe you should watch those debates with Harris, et all, he speaks of..... the guy is a moron. What America needs is to settle its past before it can create a future. To do that, Americans must settle the political issue of religion.

  • @237Michael I agree with you, but it's not so easy. People like Chris Hedges just aren't put into the mainstream, and that's by design. The Internet is one of the last free places we have.

  • @237Michael People are to afraid and naive to listen to him.

  • The goal of this tradition of psychopathy is to get everyone to kill each other, and not take the blame. They declared covert war on all of us generations ago, and therefore we were not given the choice. We are set against each other when in reality, both sides of these conflicts are victims, and both are conquered in the end. We have a common enemy and by eliminating it, we solve our collective problem once and for all. Institutionalize all psychopaths immediately. Especially those in power.

  • @950horsepower Well said, someone who actually forms their own opinions, uses their brain and isn't a parrot.

  • @950horsepower THEY ARE THE ONES THAT RUN THE INSTITUTIONS!!! THE GREED MACHINES ARE THE ONE PERCENT IN BED WITH THE POLITICANS. REAGAN & BUSH WERE LIERS.......AND CLINTON PLAYED HIS GAME DIFFERENT YET WAS STILL PART OF THE CORRUPTION .....AS ARE MOST IF NOT ALL. BRILLIANT MAN..............TELLS IT LIKE IT IS YET AMERICA IS BRAIN DEAD TO SEEK THE KNOWLEDGE. THERE WILL BE ANOTHER OCCUPY WALLSTREET. WE NEED MORE LIKE CHRIS HEDGES. WISH HE WERE PRESIDENT.

  • The first 5 mins sounds like a Ron Paul Advert

  • Thanks Chris, for your insites. You have seen the worst of humanity, and yet kept your ability to care for others intact. Your calmness has pulled me back toward reason several times. Again - Thanks...

  • This guy reminds me of a more intelligent version of Michael Ruppert.

  • Divinity school.....LOL

  • com/watch?v=MQNitCNycKQ

  • @pretorious700 The congressmen are led by corporate interest and payouts. They are nothing more than a mere person who has sold his self as a prostitute. They left their oath at the door to serve the dead.

  • If you don't De-register to vote, you are supporting them weather or not you say you are, or not. Your registered vote, has always given them the power to continue their direction. Even if people vote Ron Paul (which would be the better of all of them IMO) it is STILL supporting an illusion you are NOT a party to in the first place.

Supreme court has already ruled US citizens are not a party to it. You have never had rights, you have never had any say so who became president. It is an illusion.

  • @gorgeousdzastr Not voting is worse than voting. Either start the revolution or shut up.

  • @Jeffersonwazright You are stupid to think your vote has ever counted, and for thinking you can be a citizen of a corporation rather than a nation. De-registering your vote will take you out of their jurisdiction for which you are operating in a state of delusional insanity.

Only an insane "person" will think he can be the 'product' of a corporation. After all they have a storage place built JUST for people like you.

  • @Jeffersonwazright Besides Of there were ZERO registered voters for their "corporation" it would cease to exist. You give them the power to do what they do by your vote by recognizing them in the first place.

Start a revolution YOU say.. makes YOU the problem not them. I guess someone with such a larger EGO wont be allowed to see it though.

Good luck with Armageddon, I mean YOUR "revolution". roflmao

  • @gorgeousdzastr Thanks for all of those bad-ass capital letters you used. You really know how to emphasize words. I am lost for word and you win sir...you win. My gosh, the way you all caps'd the word ego is just breathtaking.

  • @Jeffersonwazright Yea I thought when I was holding my artists brush stroke and curled it up on the end it would mean a lot more to ya, than just a plain ol picture... no one likes black and white anymore these days...

Should I have done Armageddon the same way...?

  • Typical C-Span callers.

  • Peak oil is the reason for the global collapse. World war 3 for oil resources.

  • 'Christopher' is such a beautiful name. Why can't you call yourself by your baptismal name, at least publicly and professionally? Let your mother and your wife call you by your nick-name or short-form.

  • @butterflybeatles My mind is blown because of what you considered interesting about this video......blown.

  • The Three Legs of Government in the USA

    1. The executive branch (President)

    2. Congress (House and Senate)

    3. Judicial/Justice Constitution etc...

  • @BonerMaroner I think that's wrong. The 3 branches of the US gov't are:

    1 The rich

    2. The richer

    3. The richest

    Did I miss any?

  • This guy is saying he can void scripture from Moses in the Bible, seems like Satan up to his old tricks of leading and misleading. Run away from this guy.

  • @BonerMaroner If one is a Christian isn't the New Testament supposed to supercede the old testament? More importantly Satan doesn't exist, the bible was written by men (it didn't fall down out of the sky) and I'm going to relate to the world based on the real world, not on literal interpretation of bronze age writtings.

  • @njanovic Old Testament not superseded by New. IMO, 1 writing of Matthew & 4 writings of John only writings of true disciples of God. All rest of New Test is bullshi*. Natural law.

  • @BonerMaroner How about I run away from ignorant religious dogma instead?

  • Chris! The far right Christians are going to pull the plug on the church of capitalism? Sorry, but you are dead wrong with that one.

  • @GreggTheEgg Yep, Dead Wrong. If anyone will it's the lefty atheists. I think the christians have started to love capitalism. Because, let's be honest, religion as a general rule is majority and status quo driven- that's what it is about. Why would the status quo, the great group-think, pull the plug on itself? They don't have the balls!! They are capitalists first and christian second, at least in the US.

  • Hedges is right on the money. Man did he ever hit the nail on the head.

  • I've never read this guy's work before. He sounds like a very interesting writer, whether I agree with all of his statements or not.

  • @Ponerology Chris Hedges is excellent, one of my favorite commentators. I don't agree with all of his positions, I've never met any one I agree with 100% and don't expect to, but overall Hedges is very good.

  • Comment removed

  • It is very refreshing to hear such an honest analysis.

  • A cogent and accurate analysis rendered all the more powerful by Hedges' flawlessly concise articulation. Puts MSM talking (air)heads to shame. But is anyone listening?

  • Brilliant man. Love his style and honesty. Have question, when he says liberal church, does he mean catholic church ? dont know much of the difference bt christian right, evangelicans( sorry dont know how to spell). im atheist but share criticism of atheism as a religion w Mr. Hedges

  • Chris Hedges is a personal hero!

  • Excellent interview

  • I've been using the term "neo-feudalism" to describe the decline of an equitable civilization in the USA for at least 12 years now. There are fairer places to live in this world yet few Americans are even willing to consider them as valid societies. Grateful to Mr. Hedges for telling truths. That takes guts..

  • What a genius. I'm going to watch this again to pull out more info. I was planning on leaving the country, but he's right, we must fight back.

  • @penlovmov My son has left the country. He now resides in Mongolia. While I am sad that he had to go to the opther side of the globe to receive a proper educatoion (he's a U student) I'm very proud of his courage and intellectual ambitions. I'm stuck here, so I'll keep working for justice. Peace, M.

  • I read that your U.S.A. FreeMason 33rd GrandMaster FreeMason of J.P. Morgen and Associates, financed the Adolf Hitler War Machine and the Third Reich! If this is wrong send me your corrections, I will accept an explanation to the contrary! This statement can either be speculation or true, please verify and tell me the truth??

  • Ron Paul care about people. The thing is you are scared of what is comming from this chaos and attack the voters by trying to deceive them with a telepatic way of detecting intentions from Ron Paul and scared the others with it. Americans are very stupid to continue with the FED and taxations, for illegal wars.

  • @Sabinovitchcam Im a libertarian socialist, Im against state power but Im also against corporate power Getting rid of the FED doesn't stop corporate power in fact it creates more competition. The hierarchical structure with freemarket in which capitalism advocates creates private tyranny in which corporate owners control every thing from the police to hospitals. With this privatized system this will only allow the rich the best health care. I know his intentions. His foreign policy is only good.

  • there is always good things out of chaos

  • this is all fake

  • I really like Mr. Hedges and have read several of his books, but every time he mispronounces 'nuclear' in an interview I cringe. Please, Mr. Hedges, do fix that. A gaffe like that causes people who aren't nearly as educated, thoughtful or literate as you are -- people like me -- to begin to dismiss or at least depreciate what you have to say/write.

  • checkmate for US empire. An empire with a lot of liers. usa sucks

  • @Eron2828 The true face of America, my friend.

  • @YoungTeufelhunden Or should I say, "voice"?

  • @YoungTeufelhunden Your perception of others is really a perception of yourself.

  • @1979descartes No, but nice try.

  • @YoungTeufelhunden You can't percieve anything other than yourself. When you are experiencing someone else, you are only experiencing yourself having an experience of that person.

  • @1979descartes Wow, that was actually a good reply. Perhaps I misjudged you. But that's not really my experience/perception, there is some evidence to support my claim. You can't deny the state of this country leaves a LOT to be desired. Have you seen some of the latest surveys? Hundreds of thousands of American citizens can't name three branches of government, many can't name their congressman, and still more don't know the date upon which America was founded.

  • @Eron2828 ehh, it's just you. They were not too bad. You have to leave a little room for extemporaneous levity.
