I had an 83. Put a DG pipe and muffler on it, FMF power reeds bored it to 60cc and had the suspension done by Kessler Pro Suspension. Thank you so much for bringing me back. That sound was pure gold to me for the best years of my childhood.
@EvansAutoShop well it took me 20 mins just to clean the old gasket material from the mating surface - add to that draining the oil and refilling (not to mention removing the clutch) and I'm sure it took me longer than an hour... 30 mins is impressive!
nice, enjoy! the clutch is VERY easy to work on with these bikes. I tore the clutch apart to examine the plates - total time to take apart and put back together was less than 2 hours thats for sure.
@herse88 i have an 87 that needs a jug. Wiseco still makes top end kits and probably low end bearings and clutch plates. but you have to rely on either used or old new stock parts for stuff like cases or jugs or plastic.
i just bought a 1987 CR80R in mint condition for 500. it was a hella good deal. aftermarket pipe, renthal bars, new rear shock, new plastics, seat cover, new full mtor rebuild, newly painted frame, and new scott grips ima put a video on here tomorrow if you guys wanna check it out and see what you think,
i just got a 1989 cr 80r for 500 it fuckin pulls needs a new needle and seat because there is a delay when you gas tha shit out of it but it still pulls
Yah, unfortunately I sold it :( bought it for my gf but it was too powerful for her to learn on. so I used the money to buy the cr125 I have now. When I sold it on kijiji, I put a link to this walkaround and it sold 4 hours!! I posted it for $500, and it sold for $450.
I have a 1983 cr80, kinda new to the fixin engine part, I can get it started but have to hand on throttle to keep it going, i tried adjusting the screw to keep idle going but still conks out if I let go of the throttle. any ideas? thanks.
how much did u get for it? and how much would mine be worth if i just put a new craNKSHAFT SEALS BEARINGS AND A WHOLE TOP END? in the same condition runs beter though
sold it for $450 (Canadian). Not sure what yours would be worth, if it's in mint condition both mechanically and cosmetically, probably close to $1000?
What kind of problem? This one wouldn't pull in first gear (but all other gears worked fine). Turned out to be a bent shift fork in the tranny that needed replacing.
ok the story is i went trail ridin and the back tire got stuck in red clay.i dropped it in first and dogged out on it and the chain broke and pulled into the trans and now it grabs and pulls on every gear the only thing i see is the case is a little beat up
Hopefully a cr125... I've always liked those bikes. Had a '97 cr250 (see my other vids) but it was too big for riding in the woods - would like a smaller bike again.
Right now I'm focussing on restoring my '84 honda 250r ATC. Just picked up a parts bike that I'll use to fix it up with.

DEJAY4200 1 year ago
@DEJAY4200 nothing the actually name is cr80r. it is just a shorter name. every CR is a race model. not CRF or CRF - X or stuff like that.
