This is what I hate about Google Doc and Google needs to fix it. When someone is editing the google doc, other people can not edit at the same time (they get frozen). You can't do simultaneous editing.

I understand that the video intend to be as speedy as the discussion, but it might become confusing at this speed! Maybe YouTube should introduce an option to see a video at 2-3 velocities connected to our different mentally slide show-flow!

Except for the part where all users were actively writing on the actual google doc, this is the most confusing video I have seen. I'm not sure how this even differs from the previous standard chat that google docs had...except that the users now can have pictures of themselves next to their name while chatting.

This is a great tool for writing teachers who teach collaborative writing and have students in peer review groups.

for document editing, lame.. for neat-o functionality, ok.

i used to use gdocs all the time, but never use it because it there is a conversion step to 'google' format which breaks things.

libre/open office allows a 'record' function which means you can actually view changes by different users and approve them rather than 'sharing' and plugging in email addresses.. maybe things that are not web based are old in some eyes, but it actually works.

@bronchomeister Yeah, Google Wave is officially not being developed as stand alone application anymore. Google is planing to make Wave functionality available via Google Docs. That's why it looks much like it.
