corridos were invented over a 100 years ago around (1880- to present) but became more popular during the mexican revolution (1910-1921) there is a difference between narcocorridos and the traditional corridos that have existed since my great great grandfathers times corridos= tells/sings anecdotes about revolution stories, bandidos, etc... narco+corridos= tells/sings anecdotes about what happens in the drug world (funded by the u.s.)
