  • Lol awesome video

  • i watch these videos and cant help but think "Yeah fucking right" and i put my guitar down. i can play like led zeppelin songs nicely but i want to fucking shred... im not fast enough... on top of that im left handed playing a righty guitar, the way a right hander would... so my fred hand is great but i have a hard time picking... ill never be able to shred lol

  • All day all night... I'm pactising... All day all night...

  • Are you picking each note or hammering on and pulling off?

  • thanks ,, sounds great , !

  • i have no mother you bastard :.(

  • you do seem to have practiced a lot, but still... you have an awful sound

  • Borat can play guitar

  • show em to your mother :D

  • Is he drunk?

  • One helpful tip to add to the picking technique, is that when alternate picking, every 4 picks you should switch the direction you're alternate picking. For example - down-up down-up down-up down-up/up-down up-down up-down up-down

  • @Rythmbot nooo, that is bad technique for this. down up down up always for speed picking

  • Dam I was gonna mention borat !! Lol wan too three four :D he's great guitarist though !

  • Borat shaved and picked a guitar! =)))

  • WHAN TUU THREE FAWR WHAN TUU THREE FAWR

  • Awesome vid man. I love the guys character. "That's pretty ZAKK WYLDISH!!" lol

  • is this borat's brother?

  • looks like ted mosby XD

  • is it:

    d5-d7-g5-g7??

(the string d in 5 fret then same string in 7 fret then g string in 5 then in 7?

im very nooooooby at this... and its hard to see on vid.

  • @redhawkrobin Nah, it's actually

    a5-a7-d5-d7

based off the way you're describing (a and d strings)

Sorry if this is late btw, you prolly already figured it out by now lol

  • I will really end up laughing instead of learning if I have him as my music teacher. xD

  • This guy is fucking awesome. Seems like a great guitar teacher, nice personality and explains it well.

  • BORAT! VERY NiiCE!

  • what a tool.... helpful tips tho

  • crazy ass jew

  • zakk wylde.. andd uhhhh zakk wylde

  • For me it's really weird. I have a very fast right hand, and very fast left hand, and I can play with both hands in sync. But when you throw in the idea of using more than 1 string I can't play anything faster than 120bpm with 16ths. I just don't get how it's even possible to instantly move your right hand down/up a string.

  • He looks like that guy from Saved By the Bell

  • I almost gotchoo there

  • thumbs up if you stoped practicing after 10 minutes XD

  • subdividing always good

  • is he italian or jewish???

  • @merkinall

  • You're scary

  • 65 people were born without arms!!!!!

  • i wanna go for a drink with this guy, he'd be a laugh pissed....

  • COCAINE

  • man ive been devoting 2 15 min practice sessions for 2 weeks and i see little to no gain :(

  • @seppuku87 thats sarcasm right?

  • @vibrotwanger no i just suck lol

  • @seppuku87 to see improvement, work on alternate picking for at least an hour a day. Repeat daily for a number of years.

  • Thanks for the lesson. Also wondering what you are playing through, very nice sound.

  • Haha This Guy Is Halarious!!!!!!! and Great Teacher as well :D

  • Kristopher Daahl is greatest guitar teacher on youtube along with couple of others :)

  • pause at 1:47, pervert face :O xD

  • Haha I like this guy xD

  • LOL he is the only troll I managed to like

  • He is on cocaine or what?

  • I see u fan Yngwie lot ;P actually this exercise helped thanks

  • I see u fan Yngwie lot ;P

  • Hahah cool lesson. And I bet my left testicle that this guy is putting up a good fight against himself not to be carried away.

  • The guy's a nut but, the video is informative.

  • Been doinit for lik ten min lol

  • borat lolz

  • I've been playing for years and I still can't fast pick properly. When playing songs such as Angel of death which involve very fast picking my arm tenses up and gets tired after about a minute. Its annoying as hell.

  • I love this lesson!!!!! I just have to practise!!

  • And by twisting motion I mean sort of like turning a key if that makes sense/

  • what type of whrist movement is best back and forthorth sort of a twisting motion? I know probably backand forth but I always end up doing the other way whenever I go fast

  • HAHAH.

  • this guy' is halarious!!

  • @0:47

When he starts his speed tremolo picking with arm movements instead of wrist movements, is that normal? I mean, I know they always say to "Use your wrist," but whenever I get into some really fast shredding, I usually end up using my forearm naturally. Is that normal, or something I should work on as far as Wrist vs. Forearm, or what?

  • @Uberado Doesn't matter, what ever is most comfortable for you.

  • @Uberado He's only using his arm movements because he is exaggerating his speed picking movements; I think. Use your wrist, for me it helps a lot and you don't get tired as easily when shredding.

  • @DrakenGuardz

I hear ya. I've just got the wrist placement down for clean picking. And I've been workin' on using wrist for shredding, but I keep going back into old habits. I guess it just takes practice to get used to. :3

  • @Uberado Always pace yourself, don't rush. Nothing is worse than having a sore wrist when you're trying to improve your skills. :D

  • @DrakenGuardz

M'kay den thanx for the tips! :D

  • his voice sometimes reminds me of borat

  • INSANITY!!!!

  • Go borat

  • good instructional video but would have liked a little more info on your right hand technique. Are you starting on a downstroke on the 2 note per string technique or an upstroke?

  • Most people play fast buy playing three notes per string, thats the standard approach. Eric Johnsons approach, on the other hand, is the 2 notes per string, this method is a BITCH

  • Show them to your mother lmao... this guy is great

  • Hey can you speed pick on an acoustic guitar

  • @THEBLAHBLAH35 Does an acoustic guitar have strings..? YES Can you pick an acoustic guitar? OF COURSE! The Answer: FUCK YES, DUMBASS

  • @zamm0rock what the fuck? what I meant would it have the same effect as an electric guitar DUMBASS

  • @THEBLAHBLAH35 What do you think? DUMBASS

  • @zamm0rock well I tried them both and they sound different so BLAH!!!!

  • @THEBLAHBLAH35 Get a distortion pedal for your acoustic? Or an amp.

  • @zamm0rock thanks for da help

  • Thanks man

  • an amazing yet simple lesson

  • And now, your reward: I'm gonna take off my clothe- XD

  • Good knowledge...complete no personality dick though...

  • Is there something in guitar learning, that isn't just practise, practise..? ...

  • @marinepeter Improvisation. It's still practice but you enjoy it cause you are actually playing :)

  • inspired me :DDD

  • Thumbs up if you have a guitar in your lap.

  • @7revorBlack i have a bass in my lap

  • thank full ..... u best my teacher....

  • thank full .....

  • nice lesson, helped me a lot :)

  • very funny, and onformative, i just cant get fast ive practised and practised and just cany get it help me out guys!!

  • BORAT

  • This is all well and good -- obviously you are very talented at the guitar BUT you are jst teaching basic speed picking patterns here. Speed picking styles can vary from the elbow, to the wrist, to the forefinger and thumb. Every one of these techniques incorporates a different a style. You pick from your wrist, but you do not advocate such a style in your picking videos... Why?

  • im going to show them to my mother :P

  • im good at fingerstyle acoustic

but i totally sucks at electric

but i must sit here with my new guitar day after day

like i did with my old one

  • Kris,

    She didnt care =/

  • yeah, show them to your mother! awesome!

  • haha lol this dude is hilarious, but hes an awesome guitar teacher Rock on Kris!

  • thanks for this lesson

  • When i pick fast my strings clatter and it sounds disgusting :/

I though i could sort it by get higher gauge strings so i went from 9's to 11's but it still sounds the same. any advice :(

  • @CovertHID try doing it real slow first, making sure you pick accurately for every note and also take note of string muting from both hands and slowly up the speed, maintaining the accuracy as you speed up.

  • @CovertHID I'm not sure I understand your comment, but have you tried getting your guitar set up by a professional?

  • This guy is so cool.

  • i feel retarded playing so slow ¬¬

  • hes cool dude! hehe
