  • Well that was about as useful as reading the features on the box.

  • Will it fit in a dodge nitro? W out sub

  • @leonsam12 If you want to see if the Pioneer will fit your car, then watch our other video titled “Will it Fit My Car” or give us a call at the number below.

  • @leonsam12 yes it will. I have it in my liberty kk! you just need to buy a trim piece since your radio slot is a little too wide

  • This is kind of an in-depth question:

Say I am streaming music using an Android phone through Bluetooth to this receiver, if I receive a call, will it pause the music and switch to phone mode automatically? Then after the call ends, will it resume playing music?

Currently I am using a (Dual) single din with Bluetooth that does this seamlessly but I got a new car and I want something with a more stylish; this seems to be it but I need it to have the same hassle free functionality.

  • @Jonedcc *more stylish look

  • @Jonedcc The Pioneer will allow you to switch to the incoming call, but does not state that is will pause the current selection. It merely states that the song will be muted and continue playing until the calls has ended, at which point, the music will be un-muted. Feel free to call for additional assistance: 800.315.0030--Crutchfield

  • Does this radio play phone call audio through the car speakers?

  • @TheBluestar2 Yes, this is one of the primary features of this particular model. If you have a Bluetooth enabled cell phone, you can sync it to the built-in Bluetooth of the Pioneer to have hands-free calling through your car audio system. • Any chance this will fit a 2004 Lancer CH ES?

I know I will have to move the A/C controls to the storage space under their curent position, and get a new headunit faceplate, but would it fit nicely, and flush?

Also, how is the setup process for these? Easy?

    thanks

  • @blankpaper66

The only way this fits a '04 Lancer (any trim level) is with major modifications to your dash, and there's no installation kit available to make it easier. A very custom job.

The set up of the radio itself it pretty painless.

Call Crutchfield for more info and a better recommendation for a new stereo for your car.

    800 315 0030

    Crutchfield

  • @crutchfieldtv Oh, well that's a bummer! Such a nice headunit, probably the best I've seen. I would call, but I'm in Australia so...

When you say 'dash modifications,' do you mean not just buying a few faceplates, but also having a professional remove, create and install parts? Just curious. Would you reccomend any other (good) double din head unit which fits nicely? Or reccomend just a normal one?

    Thanks for the response!

  • @blankpaper66

As far as we know there's no 'already made' faceplate, so some creative fabrication would be necessary. A good installer can probably do it.

    Good luck.

    Crutchfield

  • @crutchfieldtv Ok, thanks, may need it!

I did see this exact H/U in an Evolution 7.5 with a large faceplate around it. I'll look into it.

    Thanks for the help. :)

  • Would this fit in an '05 Ford Focus ZX4? Does it need a dash kit? Because the stock head unit looks to be almost perfect double din size.

  • @WeAreTwoDoorsDown

Hey man, please check out our video entitled "Will it Fit My Car?" and give us a call at 800 315 0030.

    Thanks,

    CrutchfieldTV

  • I really wish Crutchfield did honest reviews like CNET rather than simply trying to sell us something. For instance, say "This only has blue illumination, so if that is a big deal to you you may want to look at another model" rather than "I like the color because it matches MY car". Come on, cut the marketing crap. It makes me think less of Crutchfield.

  • Will this fit in my 04 ford ranger? I have a 6cd changer in it right now and looking at replacing it with this

  • @phantom69069

Yeah, it'll fit, but modifications to your vehicle's sub-dash are required and the factory radio cannot be reinstalled properly once sub-dash modifications are made.

If your Ranger came with the upgraded Pioneer factory system, we can't say it'll fit for sure since we've never researched that system.

    Call us for more info.

    Hope that helps,

  • wood this fit in my 1996 tahe 4 dr

  • @psychopathic2009

The FH-P8000BT is a DD or "Double DIN" sized head unit. Your dash trim panel opening is not large enough to take a DD head unit without modifications. By modifications I mean cutting/trimming the cosmetic trim panel that goes around your radio.

This is a custom installation. There are radios with similar capabilities to the FH-P8000BT in a single DIN size, go to the Crutchfield website to check them out, or call us at 800 315 0030.

    Thanks,

    Crutchfield

  • I just bought the Premier version of this deck. I have a 1993 Taurus SHO and of course i'm modifying the dash for this to fit but I know it does and it looks VERY nice in these cars because there are pictures on SHOforum.com of this same deck installed in the same car as mine. BUT, I cant seem to find the universal double-din mounting kit I need. The guys on the forum all said it just consists of a cage, trim ring, and mounting hardware. Does Crutchfield stock something like this? Thanks.

  • @jayhoyt28

So, we don't have a "universal" double DIN kit, our kits are vehicle specific. And as you know, the Taurus's dash is not configured for a DD radio.

We do however, have many DD kits for other vehicles that you could probably make work in the SHO with minimal modification. For example, if you go to the Crutchfield website and search for item # 120955026, you'll see one that might work for you.

  • will this fit in a 2004 honda civic ex.

  • @coolblue256

Hey, we actually put together a video that discusses specific vehicle fit information. It's called "Will it fit my car?" If you search for that on You Tube it'll be the first search result. Please check it out.

  • Id like to get this, but I have an Acura RSX type S with the Bose system and you guys don't seem to have the double DIN faceplate for my car. Any idea where I could get this?

  • @snowren24

We do have double DIN kits for the Acura RSX. Iooks like we have double DIN plate for every year – call us to double check, our Advisors can help you get everything you'll need to install the FH-P8888BT into your RSX.

I have an 06, I'll give you guys a call, but online when i search for my car it only comes up with the single DIN one.

    crutchfield(dot)com/g_112200/Vehicle-specific-Mounting-Kits(dot)html?tp=3121

  • @snowren24

Thanks for the year, we definitely have the DD kit you need, it's item number 120957867, you could search for that on Crutchfield, or just rest assured we have everything you need.

Calling us is still the best way to make sure yo get it all.

    Thanks again,

  • @crutchfieldtv

    Great thanks!

  • thanks for the quick response. I appreciate it.

  • Our pleasure:)

  • I HAVE A 2010 Tundra and I would like to know if this fits. Thank you.

  • @mikev4155

Yes, this radio will fit a 2010 Tundra. You'll need a mounting kit. We have two kits, based on the color/texture of your dash. You get either one free when you buy the radio from us.

If you have the JBL system, you'll need wiring adapter (50% off w/radio), if you don't have JBL, you'll get a free wiring harness w/radio purchase.

And of course you'll get our free master sheet instructions and Tech Support

  • does the bluetooth in this support A2DP?

  • Hi krophiquon,

Sorry for the late reply, but I wanted to let you know that yes, in addition to supporting Bluetooth's Hands-Free Profile (HFP), the headunit also supports Bluetooth's wireless Audio Streaming Profile (A2DP) and Bluetooth's Audio Control Profile (AVRCP).

Hope that helps, for that and more, check this radio out at Crutchfield.

  • i have a mercedes-benz 2001 C240. it has a double din. does this stereo fit in?

  • yes

  • is it 100% sure? sorry for doubting but its an expensive product and i want to be sure before i buy it.how do you know?

  • just click the first result when you google "car stereo fit guide" and see what it says about your car, if its double din then it will fit your car

  • actually i looked it up and this won't fit your car. your car has just DIN not double DIN

  • Hi RoaldiJ,

The opening in your Mercedes is larger than a Double DIN radio, which means you'll (or your installer will) have to fabricate a bracket and trim panel to both secure the radio in the larger opening and make it look nice.

But there are installation kits for single DIN radios to fit no problem. You might check out the Pioneer Premier DEH-P710BT as a pretty comparable single DIN alternative.

    I hope that helps,

  • I have a '93 Taurus SHO with a single din opening but it looks like if I was to remove the compartment right above where the stereo goes this might fit. Shot in the dark here but does anyone know for sure?

  • I wish I could give you a specific answer kalimain, but we don't test out all phones with all our radios. There's just too many of them.

  • Hi, I was wondering if this unit also has itunes tagging also? thanks

  • Hi KingMoose266

I am sorry but this unit does not support iTunes tagging. Still pretty cool though. If you pull it up on Crutchfield you can read over 120 customer reviews of this model alone.

Feel free to call us if you have any questions.

    Thanks

    CrutchfieldTV

    800 555 9408

  • alright appreciate it, this question is a little more abstract but do you have any idea when the next line of head units will come out? early 2010 i would imagine but maybe you know better?

  • King,

Pioneer usually debuts their new line of car audio products at the January Consumer Electronics Show.

I don't know for a fact that's what's happening this year, but if I was a betting man, I'd bet you could find something new from Pioneer on Crutchfield, and in the newest Crutchfield catalogs pretty soon after Christmas.

    I hope that helps,

    CrutchfieldTV,

  • will you be able to search threw songs on the deck with an iphone?

  • Hi brrrendon,

You certainly can look through your iPhone's songs on the radio itself.

To see more detail on how this radio controls the iPod/iPhone search for its model number on Crutchfield and then click on "Hands on Research." Pretty detailed info there.

    Thanks for your question,

  • ah ok. it looks pretty big so im assuming it can fit a Jeep Wrangler X 07 with out a kit? for the DPX303

  • Super,

It certainly can fit into the Wrangler's dash, but it will need a side bracket kit to make it fit securely.

That's included free with the stereo.

    Hope that helps,

    CrutchfieldTV

    800 555 9408

  • what do u think of the Kenwood DPX303? is it good? can u do a review on it? and send it to me? thanks!

  • Hi SuperDwang,

The DPX303 is a pretty sweet little radio. It looks great in Double-DIN openings, is reasonably priced, sounds great even with compressed MP3s, and can work with Bluetooth and iPod adapters.

With over 6,000 products our team is unable to make videos for most of the products we carry, and the DPX303 is not currently on the list of videos to get made, but it is under consideration.

You might just want to call, talk to an Advisor about it.

  • Hello Backdow,

First off, I apologize for taking so long to reply to your question. No excuse for the delay, and I am sorry.

Now, the answer is no. The three-line OEL display is blue, and does not offer you the ability to change colors.

It's still a pretty cool looking unit.

  • i luv pioneer, we have 2006 ford escape, the stereo is also ford, is it possible to change it with a pioneer stereo?

  • Hello Crinale819,

It certainly is possible to replace your Ford radio with a Pioneer. And we have plenty of Pioneer to choose from.

You can enter your car into Crutchfield's "Outfit My Car" application on our website to see what fits, or call us and we can go over your choices, and help select the perfect new Pioneer for you.

  • hey crutchfield

i have a 93 ACCORD SE with the bose factory installed system

and i was wondering since i have a motorized antenna which comes out when i turn on the radio. If i get this deck. and install it. and turn it on. would the antenna still come out? Even though its not on the tuner. like if its running on a CD or iPod ? thanks.

  • Capdasejb,

Looks like I overlooked your comment, I apologize for not responding in a timely manner. This radio has one blue wire used to turn on an amplifier and/or a powered antenna. The antenna will always be on if the radio is powered on unless you install a toggle switch or other manual control.

    Hope that helps,

  • Hi Kamycrs,

This radio is simple yet sophisticated in appearance, and does not have screen savers.

    Thanks

    Crutchfieldtv.

  • does this one has those movie screen savers???

  • hey i have a question for you does it work with the ipod touch i know that some newer pioneers dont work with some ipods my firend has the AVIC-N4 i think and it wolnt work with the new ipod nano and i was cuirous if this would work for my ipod touch

  • Hey Paco, here's a list of the iPods this radio is compatable with: iPod touch 1st/2nd generation (Ver.1.1.1) iPod classic 80/120/160GB (Ver.1.0.2) iPod fifth generation (Ver.1.2.1) iPod nano third/4th generation (Ver.1.0.2) iPod nano second generation--aluminum (Ver.1.1.3) iPod nano first generation (Ver.1.3.1) For more info on that, and all this radio's features, check it out at Crutchfield, or call us at (888) 955-6000. Thanks, Crutchfieldtv
  • ok thank you very much have a wonderful year

  • Hi,

Will this fit a 1996 Chevrolet Blazer?

    Thanks

  • This would be a completely custom installation (and not an easy one) in a 96 Chevy Blazer. Call an Advisor at Crutchfield for more detail. (888) 955-6000.

  • Would something of this size or the newer dual din's fit in an nissan altima 08?

  • I just fitted same headunit in my E36 coupe, looks and sounds cool!

  • This video would be a lot more useful if you would actually show usage of the receiver. I've been burned too many times by "iPod compatible radios" that have a lousy interface. I was hoping to see someone actually *use* this receiver with an iPod, prior to purchasing the product at crutchfield.

  • Hey question, will the FH-P8000BT fit a '01 Honda Civic?

  • will this fit in my 2004 volvo s60 2.5t? i have the standard radio in my car.

  • Hey prietov,

Sorry, no double DIN opening in your volvo. The radio opening in your dash is big, but it's not set up for a DD sized radio. You might take a look at the DEH-P7000BT as a single DIN alternative.

Our Advisors can help you find a radio that fits your car and does everything you want it to do. 1-800-555-7032

and also would this fit an acura rsx type s(honda integra type r) ?

We'll need more information to make a recommendation. And we'll also need to know the year of the vehicle. Your best bet is to call one of our advisors a 1-800-555-7032. You can also do live chat or email us from our website.

  • will this fit my 1993 Lexus SC300. it looks like the Double DIn will fit since the factory receiver looks to be the same size.

  • Hey xbalsx1,

It is a large radio opening in the dash of your Lexus, but anything you install in there will be a custom installation, no aftermarket radio, even a double din is a perfect fit.

You might want to discuss the details with one of our advisors at 1-800-555-7032.

You might also want to check with a local installer who may have customized a Lexus before.

    Hope that helps.

  • will this fit my 1997 buick rivera? so i can order it from crutch field.

  • Hi Omer09,

The FH-P8000BT will not fit your 97 Riviera. You have a Double Din opening but you don't have enough depth in the dash to handle this radio.

You really should speak with one of our Advisors at 1-800-555-7032 for an expert recommendation.

  • does the FH-P8000BT fit on a 2003 honda civic? i would really appreciate it if you can let me know before i buy it

  • Hi Luis,

The FH-P8000BT will not fit a 2003 Civic. '03 Civics do not have a Double Din opening. You might consider the DEH-P7000BT, which fits perfectly and has a lot of the same features as the 8000.

You really should speak with one of our Advisors at 1-800-555-7032 for an expert recommendation.

  • Im debating on whether getting the FH-P8000BT or the AVH-P6800DVD. I know they are WAYYY different But they are both really nice. I know if i go with the FH-P8000BT ill be saving like 600-700 dollars. But there isnt enough vids about the AVH-P6800DVD to convince me well enough to get it :/

  • Hey lovin,

Youve got a tough choice, these are two really nice stereos. You can call us to get expert advice on which one would best suit your needs. The Advisors at Crutchfield are all trained not just to take your order, but to dig in, ask questions and recommend the right stereo. You might find the less expensive choice is the best choice for you, if thats the case, well let you know. Best thing you can do is calls us at 1-800-555-7032 for an expert recommendation.

    Thanks

  • I've got this stereo at home, brand new sitting on a table with the Syrius kit and the DD kit -- hopefully all getting installed this weekend. This is for a 2005 Durango SLT that had a standard am/fm/cd stereo. I got a navigation bezel so that a larger stereo can be installed, so I think it's all going to look great. I'm a little concerend about how that Syrius antenna is going to sit on the roof while allowing the cable to run inside somehow....

  • Marcus,

Sorry we didnt respond to your comment before the weekend.

    How did your installation go?

    crutchfieldtv

  • thank you very much for your response, even though i think at the end it will fit though cause i was looking at the chevrolet aveo and the radio compartment is practically the same and when the site prompts you to select your car, it says that the 800BT does fit the aveo, so yeah basically that, either way im still buying the 800BT and i'll let you know if it fit. thank you very much!

  • Matix, You will probably be able to get the Double-Din FH-P8000BT in your dash. The opening is tall and wide enough, its just that there are no installation kits available to make it fit secure and snug, you may have to get creative where thats concerned. Its been done before, and the 8000BT is a nice enough radio to make it worth it. Good luck.

  • does the FH-P800BT fit on a chevrolet optra?

  • Hey matix1023, My research shows that a Chevy Optra may be the same as a Daewoo Nubira, and the FH-P8000BT does not fit the 99-02 Nubiras we have researched. And we have not been able to research the Optra. Youd probably have an easier time installing a single din stereo like the Pioneer DEH-P7000BT. Call our Advisors at 1-800-555-7032 for more info.
