As for the video, I quite like the quality if i'm honest, I never tried recording MP4, but if Trumpf meant rendering at a bit rate of 6, that's all I use when I render into .wmv. Check out some of my CoD4 gameplay for how it looks if you like, the montages are multi-rendered.

the bit rate you use will determine the file size even more.
the settings you might want to use for just regular gameplay like this (mp4 format wise)
1280x720
29.970 fps
6mb bit rate
**Youtube will process your video to 29.970 frames when you upload anyway so you are wasting your time rendering in 59.940
you can notice a slight difference in the quality from 59 - 29, but for gameplay its not a big deal.
**also the bit rate is maxed at 6 for youtube, any higher is pointless.
