I love this album. Just last week i bought an original Harvest NZ Vinyl Pressing for $20. It sounded a million times better from vinyl. When i have the time, i'm gonna listen to it in the middle of the night with nothing but pitch blackness around me.
You don't even have to be a Pink Floyd fan, but there's nobody on this planet that can argue that this was and still is one of the best albums of all time. Truly changed the world of music forever!
I came to the conclusion while laying in bed, listening to this album, that this is the greatest piece of music ever recorded in the history of music. These guys were geniuses at writing and recording music. There's just something about putting on headphones, smoking a doobie and listening to Dark Side. Pink Floyd was great at making you feel like they felt, through their music. Everything about this album is perfect.

This little intellectual facade you are attempting to display is amusing. Your posts have been nothing but drivel and lack any real substance.
The fact that you employ the term "this video aspires to failure" tells me you are nothing but an internet junkie caught up in the fad that abuses the words "fail" and "epic".
I look forward to the countless seconds of laughter your rubbish will provide me.
lol "internet junkie", says a guy on a youtube forum... and I'm not attemting any kind of a display. I'm sorry if my vocabulary is a little too advanced for what you're used to, but I'm not a victim of an american public school system, so forgive that, along with the correct grammar and spelling. And i like your little "finale" about the countless seconds... you should convert to a larger unit of measurement... :) Btw, still nothing about WHAT it is you disagree with, just personal attacks..? k.
A man sustained by a delusion is what you are. Your vocab is nothing short of average and for you to think that I have failed to comprehend it reveals that pedestal on which you have erroneously placed yourself.
This little dance you perform has been done countless times by many a fool online. I care little for this debate about Pink Floyd. I have merely observed the idiocy in which you operate by attempting to pass your opinions off as infallible facts. Care to praise yourself more?
lol... do you think that it's less than totally obvious to most ppl that you're now just trying to be "wordy"? And I know you don't want a debate, you just wanted attention. ok, now you got some attention with insults and without actually stating any facts... now what?
Funny, the one who started the practice of posting with no facts no seeks to call someone out on that...
How can I debate when all you have is mere opinion that you would seek to pass off as fact?
Certainly the shortcoming in your intellect does not impair you that much.
Attention seeker? Akin bashing a singer in a metal thread then seeking to compare him to a classical composer to demonstrate his lack of musical genius?
Cheap parlour tricks on your part. BTW, you still have no facts either
alright, if you're gonna spout off pure bullshit, and then claim it wasn't you, let's fucking get into it - but first, just out of curiosity, do you know anything about music? because we're about to get into specifics about composition of Type O songs, and i'm pretty sure you don't know your dick from a pentatonic scale.. so do tell, what's your musical background?
lol... listen dude, every time you post more bs, I have to pull out and clean your mom off my dick, so please don't get me off of her unless you have something useful to say, outside of copying and pasting definitions... for whatever reason
Break down into the degenerate, intellectually depraved person I know you to be. Your facade was short-lived. Not a single fact in any of your posts. Your inability to construct a meaningful argument has led you mom insults.
you can laugh at whatever you want, but you still have listed 0 facts about anything... all you did was said that i was wrong about P Steele, and insulted me... now you cry about some bad words I used in reply to someone who copped out of an argument... so ok.. keep laughing... the empty can rattles the most,
What you call crying, I call identifying the stupidity with which you drape yourself in and parade around like the emporor in Hans Christian Andersen's tale.
Trolls like you lack the mental acuity to determine when you are on the losing end of a discourse.
Still awaiting that musically genre-wide, standardized measurement of musical genius and your factual argument to support what makes someone a musical genius.
Hint: you make an INITIAL FACTUAL claim then I counter. That is a debate.
read my posts, you're falling behind. look at the definition of the word "genius". then i can give you your standardized measurements having to do with things such as, oh idk. pitch perception, sense of rhythm, complexity of composition... you know... all the things you'd be familiar with if you weren't likely a tonedeaf wannabe.
i'll tell you what - you want hard facts? you keep saying I lack them, so let's cut the bs. your musical creations vs mine. put to a vote on youtube. loser admits that they aren't the best judge of musical "genius". Put up or shut up. Clearly you won't debate me, so this is the only way to shut you the fuck up. And spare me the pseudo intellectual shit. If you don't think that intellectuals curse, you don't read books by intellectuals.
Another 2 posts from you and still nothing to support your baseless claim. *yawn* You must just like to empty your head of all the drivel and bask in your own pool of feeble retorts. All you have to do is present the standardized measurement of musical genius that you are using to judge musicians across all genres.
Stop posting your foolish rants about "aspire to failure" and mom insults and present the basis for your opinion that you would have us take as fact. Simple as that troll.
Perfect. I mean aside from more empty insults. Other than that, fine - I will give you a standardized measurement of musical genius. However you define "musical genius", I'll be able to do it, the moment you give me your definition. Then no problem. Otherwise I will refer you to my original post. Now as for what I said - prove to me that you MIGHT know what musical genius is. What is your musical background? I like how you glossed over all that. WHY?
Fool. You made the claim (opinion premised) now support it. I do not have to provide you with my definition. Your opinion thinks there is a generic measurement that is genre indifferent. As such it would apply to ANY and ALL definitions else it would just be opinion based which I assert is what you are arguiing with.
Do you comprehend it now? There mere fact that you ask my specific definition so as to customize your measurement shows that it is not standardized and globally accepted.
no, fool, the reason i asked you to define it, is because i wanted to use YOUR definition to show how Pete Steel doesn't fit into it. The websters definition of "genius" where it pertains to artistic creativity, uses the word "extraordinary". Which has to do with a comparison to the norm. That's pure statistics. Ok, so now it's your turn. What about pete steel is extra-ordinary, judging by things OUTSIDE of taste? Your turn, retard, drool on.
Yet you still have not indicated where he does not fit into this musical genius category which would be your initial argument yet you are asking your opponent to present a counter to a non-existent argument...
lol omg french? how fucking pathetic is that? omg, you MUST be smart, if we're jumping around european languages. so blatantly sad. so again - read my last post, before responding.
4 posts and counting...Please assert your factual statement to support your claim as to why he is not a musical genius.
When you make a claim (unspported on your case) the burden of proof falls upon you. You have not created a factually supported statement so what have you left me with to counter? A mere opinion... Learn the basics of an argument.
In addition, instead of mailing me the insults like "eat a dick," why not post them here for all to see what you are resorting to in the face of your shortcomings?
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
he's not a musical genius by Webster's def, because he's not out of the norm. his riffs are all 4/4, everything is pentatonic and minor, and the lyrics are always about 2 things. mondane. the OPPOSITE of extraordinary. the only place he sticks out is - he plays distorted, which i gave him credit for in my original post. that's game. btw, having read your profile and your other posts (starting arguments online is all you do), i realise now i've fed the troll, so i'm ignoring the rest of your bs.
Missing from what you think is an argument is the link to the globally accepted measure of what exceeds "mondane." (Evidently you are are a genius too for making "mondane" the new replacement for "mundane" but that is besides the point)
So, as this is YOUR assessment, without an agreement on a grand scale, we are again lead to the conclusion that all you have is an OPINION.
He has sung about life, love, depression, drugs, warfare, nihilism, anti-religious sentiment, racism, and technology
Interesting how we also have a legend like Hendrix playing Pentatonic that you assert Pete does. He has done Thrash, Punk, Grunge, and Doom genres far exceeding the norm for bassists within the industry and he mas managed to merge them to create a unique sound. Even Piero Scaruffi praises him but we are supposed to take the word of a nobody like yourself over a musical historian...
lol how the fuck did my mom get into this?? idk if you were trying to be funny but that was just pathetic, since your trying to prove to everyone here that your some intellectual musical genius. just calm down your on a youtube forum you fuck
i was pointing out that if you're going to post stuff, at least make it worth my attention, don't just post stuff randomly.anyway, my argument with the troll is over, go read how it ended. if you have any questions please feel free to do it quietly. You're welcome.
As for 4/4 rhythm, that is more or less standard even among the heavyweights like Metallica, Prince, and Hendrix.
Thus all you have is your opinion with no commonly accepted meter of musical genius. There has been no concensus on what musical genius is but you may have an apple for trying and for the word "mondane" which a purported intellectual genius like yourself used.
Ditto, I used to listen to the Dark Side OTM album sometimes 3 - 5 times a day, in my teen years.
BTW, if you are into other types of music, I can recommend "The Fugees, The Score" album. It reminds me of The Wall in its style, but in a Rap Way. I listened to it alot when I was in the Army in 1996, and was sent to help guard the Olympic Venues, in Atlanta.
when im playing my music and a song comes on from DSotM i just HAVE to play the rest of the album with it because the songs flow into eachother. its just such an awesome album. i particularly like the bass line in any colour you like. FANTASTIC
I think Meddle was a turning point in Pink Floyd's music. It is where you can see a change from that more physcadelic music to the more progressive music that became the dark side.

nothing i said was that complex, you being the first person so far to not get it. consider the possibility that the PSEUDOintellectual is you.
PRIMEx420 2 years ago
PRIMEx420,
This little intellectual facade you are attempting to display is amusing.
CorbenikTheHarbinger 2 years ago 2
lol "internet junkie", says a guy on a youtube forum... and I'm not attemting any kind of a display. I'm sorry if my vocabulary is a little too advanced for what you're used to, but I'm not a victim of an american public school system, so forgive that, along with the correct grammar and spelling. And i like your little "finale" about the countless seconds... you should convert to a larger unit of measurement... :) Btw, still nothing about WHAT it is you disagree with, just personal attacks..? k.
PRIMEx420 2 years ago
A man sustained by a delusion is what you are. Your vocab is nothing short of average and for you to think that I have failed to comprehend it reveals that pedestal on which you have erroneously placed yourself.
This little dance you perform has been done countless times by many a fool online. I care little for this debate about Pink Floyd. I have merely observed the idiocy in which you operate by attempting to pass your opinions off as infallible facts. Care to praise yourself more?
CorbenikTheHarbinger 2 years ago
lol... do you think that it's less than totally obvious to most ppl that you're now just trying to be "wordy"? And I know you don't want a debate, you just wanted attention. ok, now you got some attention with insults and without actually stating any facts... now what?
PRIMEx420 2 years ago
Funny, the one who started the practice of posting with no facts no seeks to call someone out on that...
How can I debate when all you have is mere opinion that you would seek to pass off as fact?
Certainly the shortcoming in your intellect does not impair you that much.
Attention seeker? Akin bashing a singer in a metal thread then seeking to compare him to a classical composer to demonstrate his lack of musical genius?
Cheap parlour tricks on your part. BTW, you still have no facts either
CorbenikTheHarbinger 2 years ago
alright, if you're gonna spout off pure bullshit, and then claim it wasn't you, let's fucking get into it - but first, just out of curiosity, do you know anything about music? because we're about to get into specifics about composition of Type O songs, and i'm pretty sure you don't know your dick from a pentatonic scale.. so do tell, what's your musical background?

lol... listen dude, every time you post more bs, I have to pull out and clean your mom off my dick, so please don't get me off of her unless you have something useful to say, outside of copying and pasting definitions... for whatever reason
PRIMEx420 2 years ago
PRIMEx420
Break down into the degenerate, intellectually depraved person I know you to be. Your facade was short-lived. Not a single fact in any of your posts. Your inability to construct a meaningful argument has led you mom insults.
I laugh at your sorry state.
CorbenikTheHarbinger 2 years ago
you can laugh at whatever you want, but you still have listed 0 facts about anything... all you did was said that i was wrong about P Steele, and insulted me... now you cry about some bad words I used in reply to someone who copped out of an argument... so ok.. keep laughing... the empty can rattles the most,
PRIMEx420 2 years ago
What you call crying, I call identifying the stupidity with which you drape yourself in and parade around like the emporor in Hans Christian Andersen's tale.
Trolls like you lack the mental acuity to determine when you are on the losing end of a discourse.
Still awaiting that musically genre-wide, standardized measurement of musical genius and your factual argument to support what makes someone a musical genius.
Hint: you make an INITIAL FACTUAL claim then I counter. That is a debate.
CorbenikTheHarbinger 2 years ago
read my posts, you're falling behind. look at the definition of the word "genius". then i can give you your standardized measurements having to do with things such as, oh idk. pitch perception, sense of rhythm, complexity of composition... you know... all the things you'd be familiar with if you weren't likely a tonedeaf wannabe.
PRIMEx420 2 years ago
And yet another 2 posts and you have presented nothing... I am still waiting.
CorbenikTheHarbinger 2 years ago
i'll tell you what - you want hard facts? you keep saying I lack them, so let's cut the bs. your musical creations vs mine. put to a vote on youtube. loser admits that they aren't the best judge of musical "genius". Put up or shut up. Clearly you won't debate me, so this is the only way to shut you the fuck up. And spare me the pseudo intellectual shit. If you don't think that intellectuals curse, you don't read books by intellectuals.
PRIMEx420 2 years ago
Another 2 posts from you and still nothing to support your baseless claim. *yawn* You must just like to empty your head of all the drivel and bask in your own pool of feeble retorts. All you have to do is present the standardized measurement of musical genius that you are using to judge musicians across all genres.
Stop posting your foolish rants about "aspire to failure" and mom insults and present the basis for your opinion that you would have us take as fact. Simple as that troll.
CorbenikTheHarbinger 2 years ago
WHY?
PRIMEx420 2 years ago
CorbenikTheHarbinger 2 years ago
no, fool, the reason i asked you to define it, is because i wanted to use YOUR definition to show how Pete Steel doesn't fit into it.
PRIMEx420 2 years ago
Yet you still have not indicated where he does not fit into this musical genius category which would be your initial argument yet you are asking your opponent to present a counter to a non-existent argument...
How terribly sad of you mon ami. Try again?
CorbenikTheHarbinger 2 years ago
3 posts from you and counting with no substantial proof to support your opinion that you are attempting to pass off as fact.
You would do well to just admit that all you have is an opinion and slink off.
CorbenikTheHarbinger 2 years ago
lol omg french? how fucking pathetic is that? omg, you MUST be smart, if we're jumping around european languages. so blatantly sad. so again - read my last post, before responding.
PRIMEx420 2 years ago
4 posts and counting...Please assert your factual statement to support your claim as to why he is not a musical genius.
When you make a claim (unspported on your case) the burden of proof falls upon you. You have not created a factually supported statement so what have you left me with to counter? A mere opinion... Learn the basics of an argument.
CorbenikTheHarbinger 2 years ago
In addition, instead of mailing me the insults like "eat a dick," why not post them here for all to see what you are resorting to in the face of your shortcomings?
CorbenikTheHarbinger 2 years ago
This comment has received too many negative votes show
he's not a musical genius by Webster's def, because he's not out of the norm. his riffs are all 4/4, everything is pentatonic and minor, and the lyrics are always about 2 things. mondane. the OPPOSITE of extraordinary. the only place he sticks out is - he plays distorted, which i gave him credit for in my original post. that's game. btw, having read your profile and your other posts (starting arguments online is all you do), i realise now i've fed the troll, so i'm ignoring the rest of your bs.
PRIMEx420 2 years ago
Missing from what you think is an argument is the link to the globally accepted measure of what exceeds "mondane." (Evidently you are are a genius too for making "mondane" the new replacement for "mundane" but that is besides the point)
So, as this is YOUR assessment, without an agreement on a grand scale, we are again lead to the conclusion that all you have is an OPINION.
He has sung about life, love, depression, drugs, warfare, nihilism, anti-religious sentiment, racism, and technology
CorbenikTheHarbinger 2 years ago
Interesting how we also have a legend like Hendrix playing Pentatonic that you assert Pete does. He has done Thrash, Punk, Grunge, and Doom genres far exceeding the norm for bassists within the industry and he mas managed to merge them to create a unique sound. Even Piero Scaruffi praises him but we are supposed to take the word of a nobody like yourself over a musical historian...
CorbenikTheHarbinger 2 years ago
lol how the fuck did my mom get into this?? idk if you were trying to be funny but that was just pathetic, since your trying to prove to everyone here that your some intellectual musical genius. just calm down your on a youtube forum you fuck
giggitygoo619 2 years ago
i was pointing out that if you're going to post stuff, at least make it worth my attention, don't just post stuff randomly.anyway, my argument with the troll is over, go read how it ended. if you have any questions please feel free to do it quietly. You're welcome.
PRIMEx420 2 years ago
As for 4/4 rhythm, that is more or less standard even among the heavyweights like Metallica, Prince, and Hendrix.
Thus all you have is your opinion with no commonly accepted meter of musical genius. There has been no concensus on what musical genius is but you may have an apple for trying and for the word "mondane" which a purported intellectual genius like yourself used.
Time to examine your other board posts and laugh.

agelessnvegas,
Ditto, I used to listen to the Dark Side OTM album sometimes 3 - 5 times a day, in my teen years.
BTW, if you are into other types of music, I can recommend "The Fugees, The Score" album. It reminds me of The Wall in its style, but in a Rap Way. I listened to it alot when I was in the Army in 1996, and was sent to help guard the Olympic Venues, in Atlanta.

I will definitely check the Score album out,. My taste in music is extremely eclectic and my appetite for different genres is voracious.

I think Meddle was a turning point in Pink Floyd's music. It is where you can see a change from that more physcadelic music to the more progressive music that became the dark side.
