I absolutely LOVE Slash!!! I like Santana too, but I don't know as much of his stuff, mostly just radio stuff. But Gun's N Rose's are one of my favorite bands EVER!!! Both guitarist were amazing in their own way, but I will always love slash's stuff! Should've been more slash stuff on here though. :( Thanks for the vid. :)

Also, perhaps you could have posted the 1970s Santana track "Flame Sky" where Carlos plays with McLaughlin or a couple of tracks from the Oneness album. Europe is by no means Santana's best track, although most people will recognise it

slash churned out only 2 or 3 creative riffs - hardly enough to be put in the same class as a master who spans 5 decades of consistent output.

you also need to be specific about how you coampre guitarists - what are the criteria? Tone, speed, creativity etc

My favourite guitarist list for example is quite different from the list of best guitarists that I have seen or heard.

All top guiterists are good in some ways or another..it is a futile discussion that who is better. Everybody has got an opinion on them...but for me..I find Brian May, Slash and sometimes Santana..they take you to a different level in their riffs....it touches my soul at least...

Love that smoooth Carlos Santana. The Santana Guitar has a single solid brazillian rosewood neck. A lot of things makes his instruments unique but to get that Santana sound you need Carlos playing it.
