That's awesome. In my beliefs, God and science go together. God works according to the science and laws of the universe. I don't know why religion gets the image of "abracadabra" and everything just showed up. Religion, in my opinion, works perfectly with science.
@GuitarzFromMarzz You can believe whatever you want. But when people start replacing scientific theories with ancient mythology, we have a problem. That is the issue a lot of people have with religious people - the ones that try to push explanations for physical reality with the folklore of bronze-age goat-herders.
As long as you don't do that, yeah whatever, we're chill.
@Saladin4747 You can think that if it makes you feel better, but you can't prove it. As long as you're not trying to force anyone else to live by your beliefs and you aren't blindly denying science, I really don't have an issue with what you think up to explain things we currently can't.

@chaoskings35 i dont know about u but i belive in god. dna is just like a computer code, it has to have a creator. do u think that we are a sopisticaded race and humanity was born from some kinda genitic material that some how mixed up with some stuff in a comet and chrased on earth created us? then where did the genitc matireal come from? how can coincednses form like that so easily? how can we think? how can we reproduce? someone has programed the dna that created us.
@GibblingX ...not real? tell to one of that 1% who has everything, to renounce to all his possessions and go living as the 99% do. where you, barely, (if not) can make the ends meet, taking the bus to go to work, etc... maybe you cannot t physically measure ego, but you can measure its consequences throughout history, from the times where our anthropologists have discovered, to now, Especially today. think about it and you'll understand what I tried to say.
@Kanitokun Wow, apparently some one has a life explaining shit on Youtube and expects to be nominated for a Nobel Prize. Good job. Good job. You do know I read it until 99% then I stopped. Thanks for your time.
@NguyenCharles Here is a short list of a few religious individuals you might know of; Galileo Galilei said "The Bible cannot err" and yes he said it after his clash with the Catholic church, Isaac Newton, William Thomson Kelvin, Albert Einstein "Firmly denying atheism, Einstein expressed a belief in "Spinoza's God who reveals himself in the harmony of what exists." He may not have belonged to any religion but he did believe in a God of some kind!
aselyatheslayer why don't you go away you bigoted fool. You claim to not be religious but you are very religious. Your religion is science and you use it like a religious zealot to demean anybody who does not believe like you do. Science can only discover what God already knows and it seems to be Gods will that we discover science. Zealots like you would have us all at each others throats!
@Kuntipac Perhaps it was. Maybe one day science will find a real transitional fossil! How about the name of a fossil that shows a solid link between two species and the name of the two linked species. And don't show me something that may have been the ancestor of some other species millions of years later. Where is the missing link?
@davidj0x1 very weak argument.Have you heard of comparative embryology?Or vestigial structures found in various animals such as pelvic bones in whales?Have you heard of comparative anatomy or heard of the fact that we share 98% of our DNA with chimps, 92% with mice, 44% fruit fly or even 28% with yeast!Have you ever bothered reading a book besides the bible?Have you read of the studies within biochemistry?Probably not! I can even name a few un-intelligently designed organisms debunking I-Design
CHAL3NG3R why don't you go away you bigoted fool. You claim to not be religious but you are very religious. Saying that Science is a religion is a utterly flawed statement. People may trust science... why? Because science is repeatable, provable, facts. Sane people usually follow those things.
doent this make you think how small we are in the universe, we all think out planet is huge, yet in actaul fact it is merley a speck of dust comapred to other planets and stars in space, were tiny, yet we have billions of years to discover what lies out there!

@MiniLemmy Sorry to disappoint you but the answer is none, the star will have blasted away all orbiting material long ago when it ignited. the same with all O type stars - No planets survive.
Here's a suggestion: since there will never be agreement between the religious and non-religious, I think science should be left to science-oriented and the religious can live by their bible, BUT be banned, banished, forbidden, precluded, etc... of
using a cellphone, hi-tech toy, drive a car, fly by airplane, etc..., 'cause it all came from SCIENCE (they refute and don't believe in)!
So, just go away and live in your stone-age communes on a flat Earth. This way, everyone's happy.

I wonder how many planets orbit VY Canis Majoris?
MiniLemmy 11 months ago
@MiniLemmy Sorry to disappoint you but the answer is none, the star will have blasted away all orbiting material long ago when it ignited. the same with all O type stars - No planets survive.

@MiniLemmy
Less than in our Solar System, if ANY... VY Canis Majoris is now a red giant, and consumed planets (time for lunch?)
