In case of the latter: the band Code utilises a lot of clean/growl alterations on trippy black metal (not as energetic as this music, but quite atmospheric): try "The rattle of black teeth". Opeth (progrock/deathmetal) also switches, but again: more atmospheric than energetic (try "Ghost of Perdition").
