  • ". . .comes when it is made the 50th State in March 1959."

    Now that, I assure you, is an illusion itself! lol!

  • thotsins, thank you for uploading this. I can't remember how I got to this page, but I was ready to see it because I'd just read Linda Tuhiwai Smith a couple of months before;

    Smith, L. T. (1999). _Decolonizing Methodologies: Research and Indigenous Peoples_. New York: Zed

    I really agree with Poi4you as well; of *course* there are indigenous experts. I'm thankful that at least there was this - thank you again for uploading.

  • I enjoyed this piece very much, although there were some obvious gaps in the research and it lacked a true indigenous viewpoint. Utilizing mostly non-native experts when there are many eloquent and educated indigenous experts was foolish. Having both viewpoints would have delivered a much more profound message. As it stands, it was good, but still a Western viewpoint on a Western imposition...go figure. lol

  • @Poi4You I agree, but it's the most western industry is willing to publicize. In order to get the real deal, a person has to go themselves.

  • wow! watch'd it all. thnx 4 uploading very insightful as well as very disturbing

  • ..the founders of hollywood knew very well how influence the public. They prepare people to think and see the outside world in certain ways. Very subtle and intelligent.

    Screwing things up desecrating everything etc. ....anyone wonders why things have been constantly going down since Cristopher Colombus?

  • A well done production. The image most people get of Hawaii are from TV shows like Hawaii 5-0 and Magnum PI. People are so awed by the beauty of Hawaii and the Hawaiian people they forget it's tragic history.

  • omg that is so sad :(

  • Hey the Miss SOUTH PACIFIC pageant.

  • these things just make me angry. and people wonder why kill haole day was implemented in schools.

  • xThank you, for this wonderful documentary (if the originators ever find this comment)

  • Likewise with your people, vairocana23. Brainwashing at its finest. We are more than what Hollywood and tourism portrayed.

  • @kukala23 agreed! african amercians, pacific islanders, aborigines, native indians, etc have been cursed by white ideals and religious fears of sexuality :)...

  • As an African-American, I find truly Heart-Breaking what the peoples of the Hawaiian Islands have been subjugated to by greedy soulless corporations.

  • @vairocana23 I know what you mean and the comments on part 3, was it, nailed the whole Whites sexualized the brown while demonized the Blacks
