Shearer really did well to cut that back so quickly for the goal - 9 goals in 12 major tournament matches for England and still so unselfish! Owen was superb in '98, but 5 in 16 major tournament games shows that where Shearer loved the big occasion, Owen too often floundered, he was good in warm up matches though.
