Rivals are a great thing. I dont think that rivals really last anymore in the NHL between teams only because players get traded to different teams and such. There will never be a long lasting rivalry over ten years lasting between two teams.

But I think we can all agree on one thing, fighting is a great part of the game.

In the NHL, your allowed to take your helmets off before a fight and there is no extra penalty for fighting in the last 5 mins. Both of those things happen on a nightly basis and no fines or penalties are given out.

I agree when you say they are players are better. The NHL has to many rules that are inturupting the game. The fighting in the nhl you cannot remove your helmets. that is stupid to me. No fighting in the last 5 minutes, this is stupid. I like the effort these teams put in. Most of the NHL players believe that they are the shit and that they are gods. they arent. most of them could not handle Littlejohn. i am sure of this.

i cant believe people actually care about this league...I loved watching the generals, bulldogs, spirits. All of them...now the "perani arena" is a place for high schoolers to hang out.  This league went into the toilet fast...

The IHL has stuff that the NHL doent have. I like the fights, pros never fight anymore and I like the fact that the players in this league actually try, unlike the NHL where they just bitch and moan about shit.

I dunno...I must not be watching the same NHL as you are then. The NHL is much faster and the players are more experienced, they are coached better and have discipline. Bitching & moaning will happen in any sport where there are high paid professional athletes. As for fighting...its good for the game & it puts people in the seats, but with the rule changes now and the wide open league you need all the scoring you can get to make the playoffs which is what the players are focused on now
