Thank you. But in the US, even native speakers pronounce the ai sound ending in t/k/p/s with what you call a "Cantonese" accent. Only when the syllable is emphasized or enunciated would anyone say it properly. In fact, if one say the sound as you recommend on every occasion, his speech would become very awkward to the American ear.
