Neutering dogs, especially large breeds, increases their risk of bone cancer. Unfortunately they keep telling people it is healthy to spay/neuter but it is not. It is completely unnatural and taking away certain hormones can and does increase an animal or person's risk of cancer. What needs to be focused on is not radical surgeries to remove natural body parts which are there for a reason but to educate pet owners to control their animals and stop letting them loose where they can procreate

So let me get this straight.. Neutering is the best anti-cancer preventive therapy ?

Of course it may work since it REDUCES all hormones so drastically like a

chemotherapy .. But hormones are also useful for intelligence, immune system,

normal metabolism and reduced fat tissue, muscle tone and strength.

So ..if you neuter a male dog.. he will propably end up being Fat and lazy

and act as if he is old most of the time

Maybe we should neuter all human kind in order to prevent cancer chances?

@Valsam75 This is actually not true. I am a pre-vet student, and to say that sex hormones increase intelligence and a healthy immune system is simply against science. It is also a myth that dogs who are neutered will get "fat and lazy." As long as you excercise your dog properly, there should be no weight gain prior to surgery. I have seen many dogs who are spayed/ neutered that are EXTREMELY active. Also, allowing your pet to breed causes tremendous over-population problems.

@vegan4Christ08 why do you propagate false and negatively the importance of

hormones in mamals (including man kind) as if something that happened by

accident, not necessary at all for the animal (including man). ? Nothing is spare part in nature's decision. Nothing.

My dog had to be neutered because of an accident and then changed completely

after 4 months. He got lazy, got sleepy, got fat, got calm.. not adventurous as

he was, behaved like a 90 year old man. got infections easily and more

@Valsam75 and it was an Alaksan Malamute who loved to be always in motion

and do miles and miles of daily running or else would go crazy.

Neutering transformed my dog to a couch-sleeping decorative dog. He even liked

petting ! he never liked petting before. he always wanted to wrestle and play hard

tention games. Hormone deprivation changed him made him even calmer

and indifferent than a female old dog. But I had no choice ..he had to be neutered

or he would die of cancer.

Other than for controlling population, their is no scientifically proven reason to have your pet neutered in order to protect their health. Dont argue with me about it. Do the reading on your own.

@Pamzion Reason for neuter is to get rid of their male hormones and to get rid of aggresive territorial behavior. Also for population control

In the wild dog, most puppies died before 1 year of age: they had to hunt for their food, and prey was selfishly attached to living and had evolved defenses against being caught, killed and eaten. Domestic dogs are out of that control, so man kills so many unwanted pups in death factories -because dogs won't control themselves and because the pups have unlimited access to food.
