  • Guncops?Mr.Yoshiji studied Wado Ryu karate and Kyokushin karate. Mr. Ashihara also studied Kyokushin Karate and became a Dai hyo. Ohtsuka Hironori(Wado Ryu)and Mr. Masutatsu Oyama studied Shotokan under Mr. Funakoshi. If someone is training in Shitokan(Mr. Yoshiji's style) and is call Mr. Yoshiji's kohai style bullshit and both men learned from Mr. Oyama then you are indirectly saying that about the style you are training in. Why train in it then? Respect your self so you can respect others! Osu

  • guncops WTF are you talking about!? ashihara beat traditionel karate any time!

  • thats funny you say that, cause they fight in our kyokushin tournaments all the time and rarely win, especially the higher grades. no comparison

  • @wild13bt quite opposite happens in MMA competitions. Kyokushin guys rarely survive.

  • @wild13bt quite opposite happens in MMA competitions. Kyokushin guys rarely survive. but not the case for Ashihara guys

  • @NecroErik Agreed, traditional is great for power and conditioning but you cant really defend yourself well with it.

  • i just realised this guy is a black belt and the kata hes doing is completly wrong, he doesnt even deserve a blue belt

  • he is good, and although I took it over a decade ago, he looks like it is the correct sono ichi

  • @mitzanu2007 Each style is different though with variation over the years. I practice a style in New Zealand that originatied from ashihara and we have a kata that is very similar to this but slightly varied. Its probably the same situation

  • @rozibean What style is that? I am teaching Kyokushin in Wellington but would be interested in hearing of Ashihara related karate in NZ.

  • ashihara is bullshit

  • dude, if youre gonna say that at least say youre reason for thinking that

  • well i'm having Shidokan training, and i like the sound that the word Shidokan makes much more than the word Ashihara's sound.... it simple

  • OMG, and thats why you think "ashihara is bullshit" theres something seriosly wrong in youre head jesus, i knew some people were dumb but not this dumb

  • I like the name of Shidokan, but Ashihara was his name. Personally, I think a style should be the style, not just the name, he is dead now, but Ashihara (the style) lives on, in a few different offshoots. I took Kyokushin, Ashihara and Enshin. I am sure that Shidokan is also an exemplary style, as is also Oyama; Osu!

  • i was ironic, names' sounds are the last thing someone should give a damn about

  • yes, but a name, has a meaning, in a way, shi do way of the warrior/man (bu shi), Ashihara is a man, no meaning to it, other than his own name.

  • not too sure

  • seguro tu karate es estilo shotokan, el de estilo shotokan es totalmente diferente a este, q es muy similar al de enshin
