I don't play with Gerbers because I've had two of them fail on me in the field. I would use a Gerber for kitchen use or around the house, but they are marketed along side and priced similarly to superior products. I'd say Gerber=CRKT in construction, but is worse in metallurgy. Leatherman is awesome and I've abused the hell out of them, plus the AR tool has a bottle opener.

Outstanding comparison. I know in my experience with the different brands, the wire cutters have been a make or break for me. Have you tried Leathermans replaceable wire cutters on the MUT and Suppertool 300? Myself I've noticed a better cut with braided wire, I was also pleased to see Leatherman adopt Gerbers wire cutter style in the Wingman and Sidekick. This was fun to watch and a great insight, Thanks.

@3BearNecessities I have no using model replaceable wire cutter (Leatherman Super Tool 300 and MUT, Gerber Strata, 600 Needlenose, Blunt and 800 Legend). I hope that these models are able to cut of the cable of steel multibrain of weak section ! Indeed, the models Leatherman Wingman and Sidekick adopts the cutting-cable in bite aligned but can they cut this cable of 2 mm ? Gerber Flik does not reach there.

what kind of camera do you use? i only ask because i would like to make some videos also. i am also considering buying a xe6. my friend has a surge and he likes it. he uses it all the time because his work is on satellite tv installation. i really like the sog powerlock, i never tried a powerassist but, it looks nice. i have a victorinox spirit x model and i think it must be one of the nicer multi tools available in my opinion. i have been looking for kinds i don't know about, but i know most.

@prometheus19799791 I have a Nikon Coolpix S9100 and I use a tripod. You are right, Swisstool (with its accessories) is the best one of the MT with the Charge or Surge of Leatherman. For SOG, I have doubts on the quality of assembly of tools (PowerAssist/ Paratool). In my collection, I shall soon have different 27 MT when I shall receive Surge and Juice xe6 :)

unbelievable. i think it's funny that so many people talk so poorly of gerber. i had one of their tools for 6 years until someone stole it. nice video. i really like the powerlock by sog too though. what are your top 5 favorite multitools?

@prometheus19799791 I ordered Leatherman Surge and Juice xe6; I look forward to them :) My favorites at the moment: Leatherman Charge and Skeletool and Squirt P4, Victorinox Swisstool, Schrade STE5. But difficult to say because it depends on works to be made :)
