Awesome ceremony! My sons Boy Scout Troop just retired a flag. It is important they learn to love and respect Old Glory, the way we did before people learned how to disrupt everything patriotic this country was built on! Now, we have leaders, that have NO regard for the constitution, or the history of this country! The reason our forefathers went to war was for freedom! To make this country the best in the world! NOT twist the constitution to advance their agenda! God Bless America!
It is highly encouraged that all scouts performing a flag ceremony should wear the correct scout uniform, and that all of the scouts performing the flag ceremony should all be wearing the same uniform colors. Various scouts in the video are seen to be wearing jeans, while the correct uniform for the Boy Scouts of America are the official green zip-off pants. Although not required, all the scouts should be wearing Boy Scout hats as well.
When I was a Scout, long long ago, we did a retirement ceremony to retire the flag that flew out town hall. It sparked so much controversy from idiots like Furnus105 in the comments below. It was ridiculous how people responded and it still burns me up to this day when I see morons react to TRUE and PROPER flag retirement.
When Old Glory becomes worn, torn, faded or badly soiled, it is time to replace it with a new flag, and the old flag is "retired" with all the dignity and respect befitting our nation's flag. The traditional method of retirement is to incinerate the flag. An alternative method is to cut into pieces followed by incineration.
For those interested additional information can be found at
Bunch of retarded idiots unable to do anything right, so they all gathered up in the boy scouts, hoping there would be other retarded idiots there to play with, and apparently being taught how to cut and burn their nation's flag... Great video indeed -.-
I myself am an Eagle Scout, and I have never seen or heard of this ceremony. I'm sure there are stated reasons for such a ceremony, but it seems kind of odd to me.
@DeadBabyJesus An Eagle scout would be familiar with a flag retirement ceremony and with your channel name I suspect you may not be an Eagle Scout. Just a hunch :)
why is boy scouts christian/catholic? I was in boy scouts (Life) and I loved it. I just never understood why the pledges and stuff were all christian in nature
@xwingrox The Boy Scouts are a multicultural multireligous and multiracial organization. There are Muslim Scouts, Hindu Scouts, and Jewish Scout to name a few. As I remember my Scout Oath, On my honor, I will do my best, to do my duty, to God and my country, and to obey the Scout Law to help other people at all times to keep myself physically fit mentally awake and morally straight The mention of God in the Oath does not name the God to whom the duty is owed.
Vary good video. I have a US flag that I put up when the twin towers got knocked down and vowed not to bring it down untill thay got bin laden but the weather got to her and I had to take it down :( but when he is dead I will put my flag to rest.
Wow this was very deep and brought back many memories of Boy Scouts and cub Scouts. This was a strong statement about the state of our nation. Thanks for sharing.
thank you for sharing. too many ppl dont know what the flag means or what it represents..no longer saying the pledg in some schools, verry sad times we have allowed to happen
Awesome thanks so much for sharing it's great to see this tradition still being taught to BoyScouts! That BoyScout leader needs to sharpen that there knife!
