Um yeah I'm sure a ghost could locate a plane and fly it up into the air without the owner/keeper of the plane not noticing it was missing. With out sounding too rude... just think about it
I don't think the ghost stole the aircraft. I believe the plane was a phantom plane, belonging to the ghost pilot. Kind of like the stories of people sighting phantom carriages and such.
Wow - does anyone know of any other internet info relating to this case? Would love to know if it received any media coverage at the time (1989?). Thanks.
Hmmm .... could be another of those 'time slip' events we hear about. The modern plane was actually flying in "historic airspace' and was doing so for most of the trip, it seems.
great story -reminds me a lot of The Shepherd by Frederick Forsyth which involves a pilot in a de Havilland Vampire being helped by a phantom pilot in a WW2 Mosquito.
if you look up The Shepherd Frederick Forsyth on Wikiepedia there is an article about the book and its plot -it was of interest to me as my dad flew both Mosquitos and Vampires
This one is awesome! Obviously intelligent and helping people in trouble.

Very similar to those witnessed over the Derbyshire Dales, however, the crashed in dense fog.
