I don't understand why Vegetarians always try to model their food after meat dishes. It just sounds like they have meat envy. If you want to eat carrots eat a carrot. If you want to eat tofu eat tofu. But call it what it is, not what it isn't; Fakin Bacon, I Can't Believe It's Not Beef(Wasn't that bad actually, I've eaten some).
Meat analogue on wiki is great information. Just call it what it is or stop wanting to eat meat, but won't, because you stand for something and just eat the meat.
@mushie1221 More videos hopefully soon... Youtube has been giving me some problems, so I'm trying to sort those out... Thank you so much for the support, in the meantime feel free to leave me any suggestions you'd like to see on my channel. I'm always interested in hearing what my viewers would like to see.
@heiyin70 I'm planning on it, I'm currently dealing with some issues because of youtube, so I'm trying to sort those out first, but thank you for the support. I hope to have more videos up soon!
Thanks for sharing..I want to learn more about using tofu so I'll be a regular. Please check out my new channel & laugh & sing along w/ "My Favorites" Thanks.
@rachexl I'm not too sure, You could always give it a try. I don't have too much experience with coconut milk other then in curry. I'm sure it would not taste bad though.
@TheVeggieNerd i'm going to make this tuesday or thursday. i'll do a couple pieces with coconut milk though, to see if anyone can tell the difference.
I made this for dinner tonight. They were a little bland, but still very satisfying. I baked them and used mustard as a dip. I will difiniately make these again and marinade them over night first. Thank you for the recipe! (Do more please! =P)
@neograffix878 More videos coming soon :) Thanks for sharing this with me, I'm glad you tried this out, and that you make them again! <3 Feel free to tweak things to your liking.
@TheVeggieNerd oh good i had subb'd last nite anyway but yea this recipe looked fun i will be trying it and the others n im not a big tofu person but i do know if it's cooked / seasoned right it can be very good ;) thanks for responding.
is that really your voice coming out of your mouth at the beginning of the video? It looks... fake? like, lipsynched or something. Maybe the sound is a little off of the video
aaaaaah!!! two of my friends are vegetarian, and i'm sick of just giving them pre-packaged crap, i actually want to cook for them! so thank you for this recipe 8D
@egyptasmilesalot I'm sure you could bread it differently, and it would turn out just fine. If you've already got a breading method that you like to use, it will most likely work for this, You might even be able to make a batter to fry these.
I love this recipe idea. Tofu has always been my favorite alternative to meat, and try to incorporate it more into my diet. I have made beer battered tofu which was oh so good. Marinade tofu in beer, I use Guinness, then after marinading for 30 minutes drain and use the beer again in the batter of wheat flour garlic, salt, paprika onion powder and dill. dip tofu and deep fry. Yumm..
@yogertlvr MMM sounds good :) I might have to make a beer batter recipe for this channel some time, I'm not 21 till march though, thanks for your comment! <3
@TheVeggieNerd your very welcome Eric. Heres another tofu recipe, wrap firm tofu in cheese cloth, place in strainer, press with heavy can for 30 minutes. crumble into a bowl mix in Taco Seasoning and 1/3 cup Extra virgin olive oil, finely 1/3 cup chopped onion, mix till you can form patties. Fry in a pan your tofu patties, spoon on vegan Mayo, and crumbled tofu cheese, bake in toaster oven till cheese is melted and bubbly. let me know how you like this one.
@yogertlvr Sorry my bad, forgot to add, put in 1/3 cup bread crumbs . Any kind of bread you want, as long as it it fresh, and not dry,. This is going to help bind your burger together.
@bleachitpink Hey thanks for letting me know, NO i have not given up. I'm currently trying out new Veg recopies deciding what I want to make a video about. Veggie Nerd will be back :)
This recipe looks delicious - can you use real onion, garlic and parsley instead of the powders, and how much of each would that approximately be? And yet another question: can you store them anywhere when fried or baked?
@syrinx32 I'm sure you could, ive just never tried it that way. I don't know what portions it would take. I'd say...one clove garlic, 1/4 a small onion, and a bunch of parsley (Whatever you thought was good) Very finely minced up. As for storing. There not very good after awhile, you sorta have to eat them fresh... Maybe if you kept them in the fridge you could bake them again and they'ed regain the "crisp" I hope this helped, and have a nice day.
1)if you soak the tofu in something, when you dry it, do you pat it down the same way as you do when you take it out of the package? or just shake the excess?
2)is there much of a difference in taste when you bake vs frying it in this recipe?
@cicada300 Hey there, This is my main channel in case you were wondering lol. Anyway. Thanks for the questions. I just shake of the extra. You can actually skip that step. I just think it gives it a little more taste. As for baking, there is a bit off a difference just like if you bake your fries vs frying them. Its more healthy to make them in the oven though. I think its easier too. I hope this helped.
@mshdsqshisluv The song i use while making the food is called. "the happiest cloud" its a song by the youtube Onision. He shares all his music on his website onision.com for free, you may use his music so long as you credit him. :)
