Awesome, my father who is 78 loves this kind of music as well as Blue Grass / Hank Williams / Hank Snow / Tubbs ets. I remember this from way back in the day. No one sings like this any longer. I miss Willie / Waylon and the boys, Charlie Rich, Merle etc etc.
I need your help finding a song I heard back in 1987. Lyrics include " I turned around and you were gone, its over its over" Anyone? Sure sounds like John but the song eludes me. Thanks
Love John, saw him at the 99.1 FM concert in the 90's and he sat out in the hot sun until everyone that wanted an autograph got one. He autograhphed a pic for my Grandparents which still hangs in their enclosed porch!! He also had a big bucket that day that he put on stage for charity when he did 'busted'! He's a great country artist, and a great man!
One of the sweetest and purest country songs ever recorded. I still wear my Rose Colored Glasses once and a while but not everyday anymore. Good stuff !!!

EVERY TIME I HEAR THIS SONG I BREAK DOWN INTO TEARS, THIS WAS MY MAMAS #1 SONG. SHE DIED 5YRS AGO, BUT SHE WORE THOSE GLASSES FOR HIM EVERY DAY TIL SHE DIED IN THE HOSPITAL. THANX FOR THE TEARS
CountryMusicFan8 Thank you for posting this it's a very nice song from a even nicer Man I was very proud to meet In Bedford Pa at the fair a few years ago one of the photo's looks like it was taken that day from there Was you sitting in the Bleachers like me He puts on a Good show
Could you please post "Before my time"? It gets played on XM radio's Roadhouse channel but I can't find it anywhere. It's my favorite John Conlee song.
Last song I ever sang to my daddy when he passed in May of 2009. It was his favorite that I use to sing. He helped me take off my rose colored glasses. Love this song. I haven't sang it since!
@goodbrolly goodbrolly...it really isn't sad..it's more of a lasting tribute when I think about it. My daddy was a good man who loved his country music. He taught me many things in his 82 yrs. One of the most valuable was that he taught me to sing and let it be heard...also to take the rose colored glasses off so that I could live life to the fullest.
@shaybeck2218 He lived a long life then! I'm impressed that you could take that life lesson away with you. Few it seems get a privilege like that. God bless you.
You'll never get better than John Conlee singing Rose Colored glasses!! If we could only capture the brilliance of these artists in today's music .....
Yes, praise the Lord! I used to listen to the whiney nonsensical words in these songs too and believe it reflected reality; but I found reality in Jesus alone!!!
@flamary429 I have a "pair," too long..... I finally had to break them and make sure that I never see through them again...... Yes, painful you bet.... was it the right thing... Absloutly......

I love this song, but I wasn't the one wearing the glasses. Sad to say, she eventually took them off, and said goodbye.
