There is a much simpler shelving system to install that can fufill the exact same purpose. All of the shelves and brackets are constructed with solid oak and they only require a level and screwdriver to install. Best of all they require no studs for installation so you can place your shelves anywhere upon your wall. Search 'Wooden You Shelving'
@redkingrd This will work on MDF. Check out take-a-part commercial furniture. You will find pocket screws commonly used. The joint will hold over the materials strength. The higher the quality of the material the greater the overall strength of the joint.
Looks like a sweet tool, I will be picking up one I'm also looking at getting my husband a new saw for his birthday, any advice on what one? I heard of a new one coming out called the straight flush, do you know who makes it?
@MsContractor13 I think I read another post of your's, looking for this "straight flush" saw. A straight flush saw is not a brand of saw, it is a kind of saw. It is used for flush cutting, in particular used for flush cutting door jambs flush to the flooring (usually). There are a few makes that are like a circular saw, with a different configuration for flush cutting apps. Bosch makes a much less expensive model, it is a smaller unit & possibly it might be called the straight flush.
Yeah. Hats off to the Kreg Camp! I love my Kreg!...... biscuits are ok, but talk about a really strong joint, Kreg All the way! One of the many projects I built was an entertainment center, and the strength of the joints were pretty impressive. oooh yeah..they are at Lowe's for about $50. the screws are pretty pricey, but I got lucky and found a surplus warehouse selling screws for about $5 for a 5 lb. box! Good Luck fellow Wood Workers!
I used my Kreg for the first time two years ago to make a gate for my chicken coop, it is the strongest thing I ever made, I am a retired GrandMA I used the mini but just got the whole set-up for more projects. Gr8 item

At our company we were banned from saying the word "jig" because it has racial undertones.

real strong?
dirtyal1234 1 year ago
@dirtyal1234 comparable to Mortise and Tenon for strength. Generally stronger than biscuits and dowels when properly used.
