A Top 5 hit for The Everly Brothers in December 1958. It was kept out of the top spot by a cartoon of all things (The Chipmunk Song by The Chipmunks with David Seville). But, hey, you can't take away the greatness of The Everly Brothers. I believe that they were the first brother act to make it big in the Rock Era.

One of my high school math teachers used to sing part of the song to us from time to time. Good times :-). He told us who sang it, but I truly think this is the first time that I have ever heard the original.
