not like it is now where guys don't even come out in their wrestling gear anymore...they come to the ring in their dress clothes and spend 30 minutes doing some second rate jay leno or high school play monolouge...the action is just terrible and nothing is original...we the fans know their moves before they do...shoulder block off the rope, then another, slam to the mat...you can't see me...5 knuckle shuffle, then "FU" or "AA" whatever...anyway i'm glad i came up in that time
as a true wrestling fan i'm blessed that i grew up in this era of wrestling...territory wrestling is what's always been where it's at...man to remember world class, mid south, southeastern and georgia championship wrestling truly had a treat...although the high flying isn't like it is now but wrestling has always supposed to be on the mat right? but the promos, the way the commentators told the story of the in ring action and made it entertaining is how it's supposed to be

@jspdrcrmach5 factions TRIED to copy the Fab Freebirds, but ALL of them were sub-par and NOT as succesful...They (if IM not mistaken) were the first true wrestling "faction"....anybody know of another faction before them? please educate me if you do, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks from a WCCW fan who never had the blessing of being in that world famous sportatorium...but I LOVE reliving everything the Von Erichs produced for us...WE WILL NEVER forget you Michael and everything you did
@justincredible214 WCCW didn't blow up until the Birds got there. That is verifiable fact. The Sportatorium immediately went from 1/3 empty to pakced to the rafters almost overnight. You can watch it on the tapes, or look at the attendance figures from the territory.
god i miss these days...i remember seeing the Von Erichs and the Freebirds throw down in the ring. Always a good match between the two factions.
