@SirKil0t if your really stuck for ideas, think of a stimulus, it could be a piece of text, a song, an object an emotion, an action and develop it think of all the different things you could do and string them together, then if your still stuck, think of a pedestrian action, something you do everyday, for example, having a shower, mime what you would do exactly then develop each movement.. might sound odd, but if your stuck it should work :)
Good performance, very good control of fluidity and pace. The smoothness and flow of the movements were very well executed.
The hofesh comments are irrelevant, since this is student work not a professional choreography. Student work is simply to showcase their skills for either a grade or to get hired by a dance company.
hey, What was your intention behind this piece, or was there any? If not what emotions etc was u dancing with? Im curious because I love the piece and wantto use similar ideas for final project but want to know what emotions u danced with?
you can't really determine... it's an abstract piece and therefore, it's your chance to determine what he felt... i think he felt heavy and depressed and was trying to break out of the barrier holding him back... he was feeling burdensome and heavy but striving to break out of what's holding him back... that's my impression... i'm not very fond of contemporary as I'm a hip hop dance but this looks quite intriguing as he displays immense emotion that translates into motion... very good job Tim :)
...i dont think its so "hofesh-like", your solo is just very well danced and its fluidity-ok, some of your movements make me think of "in your rooms" -well, i like the way you dance it ;)
...if you ever have seen the batsheva dance company, you know that hofeshs dance isn´t that unique and his very "own" style. he uses pretty much of ohad naharins vocabulary, maybe as something like quotes or just because he dances with batsheva for so long (i think, no one who danced there or even only took a workshop or saw a performance will dance like he or she danced before, because its such a strong thing)
I also will admit that hofesh's work is pretty amazing, and I am influenced by it but don't take the solo to seriously I only made it because I had too for my course.
If you do wanna see a good solo look at Matt Jones in the nscd thingy ma jig.
Hi...just to solve anything, Im the dancer in the solo...and yes I chorographd it...and yes it could be classed as 'hofesh' chorography but I only made the solo for assessment and I wasn't that concerned about originality at the time.
I would also like to point out that im working with hofesh at the moment as one of the apprentices for this year...if that makes it any better.
tandy... before Hofesh there was body movement, simply because somebody articulates their spine and moves fluidly they get pinned down with "Labels". You know what is annyoying you are. This a decent piece of work. Show some respect.
amazing
