Love your tone, I too have 69s in my cp 60s.

I have a hr62 and hr 57 strat, I love these pickups a little more.

To my ears they have a fat clean tone, the highs aren't like Texas specials and the lows are just right.

You're good. You got style and feel. I know your guitar (SRV). I was tracking 69 CS pickups and found this vid. I've owned two sets of 69's. Due for another. To my ear they can't be beat. And somewhere around 2:53, wow.

for ghe srv tone use less gain from your pedals and more level boost from them, stevie's distortion is almost exclusively from clean breakup of his tube amps. If you want a SRV esque breakup and retain somehow human volume levels I suggest you check out DR.Z amp, great breakup .. quality boutique low wattage amps

@snaskc just recomending ;)... watch a vid of a guy who tries a maz 18 with a AV 57 strat through a plexi glass ,, that's one amazing tone you might be interested in .. type: strat maz 18 and look for a video of the combo version in a plexi glass thing

if i were you i would get any strat preferrably a custom shop or an american standard but make sure that it has the 69 custom shop pickups in them those things kick ass. Give you the best jimi SRV tone ever it basically can do any 60s tone or classic rock strat tone. But it sounds godly look up some vids on here it will give you that chucka chucka sound if you know what i mean haha

How can you see that it has 69 pickups ? I have a 2005 American Delux Strat , it has Texas pickups and they look the same as the ones in this video . Just wondering ?

they just have white covers, the only way of telling is by looking at the back of the pickup where they're signed by abigail ybarra- custom shop pickup maker
