  • man...once u donwload it...where do u have to move it?

  • WOW!!!

  • Hey again man, just wondering what monitors you use to mix? Im in the market for some monitors

  • @OhSoInsane Hey I mix on headphones. ATH M50's

  • What did you use for the drums ? SD 2?

  • @Sooshdog Yep SD2 with the kick and snare replaced.

  • why are you always having sex in my ears man. there arent enough q tips in the world to get all the jizz you inserted into ear cavity

  • @surfacexmusic hahaha!! lol

  • Have you tried nebula impulses? these are so promising! MP sent ;)

  • hey fear what sample rate do you use to record your stuff? i'm using 44.1-24bits and sounds just great but i wanted to know if there is a noticeable difference if a record at higher sample rates like 44 or even 96. i have never tried to go further. thanks bro!

  • @TechcoreIsSexy Yep same here, 24bit - 44k. Found no noticeable difference when I tried 96k.

  • I record at 44 as well, but it always sounds "low quality" Kind of like an mp3. Also, I can't get that tube warmth, everything sounds very digital with that high frequency scshhhhhh sound. I have tried everything. Amplitude 3 seems to fit me the best. The new Orange amps are fuckin awesome.

  • @megaterra69 That sounds odd, shouldn't sound like an mp3... are you recording at 16bit/24bit? Yeah A3 is cool, the Tiny Terror sounds good.

  • @fearcomplexmusic 16 bit. I have never tried 24, is there a noticeable difference in sound at 24? I guess my problem is that it at 16 44 it sounds almost muffled, like not full resolution if you will. I notice that at 96hz the sound gets clearer, but my pc can't handle recording multiple tracks at 96. Your sound does sound much clearer though.

  • @megaterra69 It should really be good at 16bit - 44k. You shouldn't need to use 24bit or 96k. I'd look elsewhere, how is your chain? Pickups, cables and interface are all good?

  • dude amazing im realy happy to see that ur getting more siriouse with ur videos ive been waching your chanel since a year i think and now that u also post some videos with tricks of how u do ur mixes i think its realy cool of you!! also u RESPOND to ur comment and give ppl advice!! keep it up man!! siriously!! thumbs up!!

  • @GabRock91 Cool man, thanks!

  • Do guitars Left and Right have identical tone, or is one different?

  • @macewindex Yeah identical in this case.

  • Thanks for your quick reply! I will give it a go.

How about guitars - do you group your guitar tracks and apply effects after having worked on them individually? If so, which?

    Thanks

  • @Anynamewilldodammit Yeah man I always group guitars and process that. Aside from the CPU benefits I also find it easier to accurately process guitars when all tracks are panned where they'll be in the mix. It's easy to under or overcook things when you're EQing a guitar track that's panned center, it can sound 'wrong' when you then pan it hard left or right.

  • First off, thank you for your awesome uploads, they are really helpful!

I have a couple of general questions I hope you can help me with. I think I'm good to go in terms of what to do on the single tracks but I'm pretty much in the dark when it comes to working on the final mix. And by that I mean how to process the complete drum mix and the complete guitar mix (all four guitar takes).

What effects do you use on the final drum mix (compression, reverb, etc.)? Do you use parallel compression?

  • @Anynamewilldodammit Hey, all the drums are processed individually I don't usually treat them as a group. When I do it's for the kick and snare only, just to compress them further if they're not hitting hard enough after compressing separately. I don't use parallel comp. Snare, toms and cymbals get reverb. Settings typically of 15ms predelay & 1.4 seconds decay. On the overall mixbus there's usually an EQ and the Waves SSL bus comp. Settings 4:1, 30ms attack, 100ms release, 6db of gain reduction

  • the guitar rig link doesnt work to my guitar rig pro

  • @fearcomplexmusic Don't worry about it Neil, those dislikes will disappear over time, when all of your other faithful subscribers click *like* :D And remember... Youtube counts dislikes as a "like" factor when it comes to popularity :D. Keep the awesome videos coming. Thanks a lot

  • @WencesWasHere Didn't know that about youtube! Haha awesome :D

  • @fearcomplexmusic Yeah mate it does happen to me. Not in every video but in some of my videos (I guess it happens only if he's online xD). Really I don't know why he does this, it's beyond my imagination. Subscribe for someone only to know when he will a post a new vid so I can dislike it? Really??? That's not stupid that's retarted. And we cant even call him a subscriber but a stalker lol. I guess he is too jealous that he can't mix like that xD

  • Dude I think I read in some other comment of you that you often times resort to using Trilian for the bass? What presets do you gravitate towards in that case?

  • @iSometimesWriteMusic With Trilian, I always use the hardcore rock bass (full range). Just the DI, amp all the way down and tone controls bypassed, using only the pickup. Keeping the velocities around 100. At 127 the bass hits are too hard for my liking. The DI track is processed with an MXR M80 pedal and then EQ'd. I used to just run the DI through Ampeg SVX's SVT Pro model.

  • @fearcomplexmusic So pro, thanks for the reply! Keep churning out the awesome videos!

  • nahh!! peavy is a lot analogish and tube-ish ... guitar rig is not for metal ... what do YOU think??

  • @Tharladyn7 Well I agree that GR hasn't been much good for metal in the past. I like this model though.

  • @fearcomplexmusic Dood seriously, I wish my channel was popuar enough to have dedicated haters.

Great work as usual, you are one of my favourite subscriptions next to Ola Englund.

  • @6EELZE6U6666 Cool channel man! Good stuff on there so it'll grow. Gave 'passing' a thumbs up.

  • @fearcomplexmusic haha cheers broski

  • What hz are you recording at?

  • @megaterra69 44khz

  • Love your work man. I was giving up on playing guitar and writing music, but listening to your videos gave me an inspiration to go out, buy a decent audio interface, and attempt and get my music recorded. Keep the videos coming bro!!!

  • @darkais776 Cheers darkais!

  • Awesome sound :) send me DI and midi for drums of this song, please? :)

  • @giuseppebassplayer Hey I don't have the midi for this track, just the drums mixed down. I'm planning on uploading another track though, will have drum midi and guitar & bass DI tracks.

  • @fearcomplexmusic ok thanks :) i'm waiting for this and then send me please :)

  • @fearcomplexmusic Someone does it to my channel as well. I have not near the amount of subscribers but it is very annoying.

  • Are you trying out the Orange Tiny Terror atm?...sounds awesome i think, check out my channel.

  • @squezer Yeah man been trying the Amplitube Tiny Terror, I like it a lot! Will upload next week.

  • Hey guys, I just posted a video response. I wonder if a few of you more experienced producers could take a listen and give me some tips on the rhythm guitar tone? Don't worry, I'm not baying for a partnership...lol. I get about 50 views a video.

  • i think revalver is more realistic than GR,definitely more:D

  • @MertAvciOfficial

agree. that was most plastic shit i've ever heard.

Just listen to hes Peavey JSX Metal Tone and difference is clearly seen.

  • @AskeGuitar, @Dimeist, @metallicat511, @milan215, @tylerislowe, @100roberthenry Some wise words fellas thanks.

  • How can you get that amazing sound man? I just can't get a god sound from almost any soft, mi guitar is an Ibanez whit active EMG. Could you make a tutorial about the process you follow from zero to end result? I'll be very very grateful whit you. By the way nice intro. Hi from México.

  • @illustrisimus I know it's not the most helpful advice but just stick at it man. There's stuff I did not so long ago that I can't listen to. Improvement can be pretty rapid. Over time your ear learns what frequencies are undesirable and you'll know what to do, a few EQ cuts later your tone is there. I'll try deal with guitar EQ on the next video.

  • @fearcomplexmusic Man one question? What interface would you suggest inable to get the super duper sounds you're getting.I heard that you use M-audio's 2626 is there anything better in that price range or that'll do the job just fine.

  • @illustrisimus Also invest in a good audio interface.

  • @fearcomplexmusic Standard douche. Most likely somebody is jealous.

  • @fearcomplexmusic Its weird, people will subscribe and then bitch about the content. I subbed so I could watch videos like this, I have no idea how you could sub then dislike what the channel is about.

  • they all sound kinda buzzy... :/ is it just the way you eq'd it or is it the amp sim itself. ive heard good stuff from amplitube tho... u tried it?

  • Great preset.... If you turn the pre gain down to about 3.09 it tightens up nicely for rhythms.

    Nice work.

  • @itowedin Yeah well said. Always a good idea to adjust the gain to suit with any of these presets.

  • it has a '3d' vibe man the mix has deep i don't know how to explain it how do you get that feeling man?.. GR5 isn't bad at all it just need more time to get good sounds out from it.

  • @TechcoreIsSexy Yeah they've stepped up their game with this model for sure and Guitar Rig has always had good cleans. I like the 'control room' too. Better than any of the god awful impulses that come with Revalver.

  • @fearcomplexmusic thats called envy man and you shouldn't give a shit about those people. your work is EXELENT MAN"

  • @fearcomplexmusic some people are amp snobs. if it's not a real tube amp then boom dislike. people need to listen with there ears and not there eyes. anyway, sounds bitchin man! great to see how far guitar rig has come!

  • @metallicat511 Thanks man. Yeah it's cool to see their progression. If they'd go ahead and model a Mesa Mark IV or V to the same standard I'd forgive them for all their previous crimes against distortion.

  • @fearcomplexmusic Yeah i can see how that would be annoying, just leave them to it, they are jealous and insecure, they have no life basically. Just keep doing what your doing, and ignore the haters, keep headbanging my fellow metal brother! :D

  • Bitchin' sound. 4 tracks as usual?

  • @macewindex Just the 2 tracks on this with more gain to compensate. 100% L&R.

  • @fearcomplexmusic sadly in America everyone HAS to be a troll...

  • @fearcomplexmusic f...k em....sounds cool to me...

  • Cool video! curious what guitars, pickups, tuning you are using Thanks for the videos!

  • @Shadowsreach1 Cheers man. ESP Eclipse with EMG 81 pickup. Drop D tuning.

  • @fearcomplexmusic

Right on man very cool indeed! Thanks for the videos!

  • imo the only amp worth using in GR

  • @DarkFottloch Agreed. Tried them all and this is the only model I liked. For heavy stuff anyways..

  • Works great man! /o/

  • @jukkisk88 Thanks!

  • Sounds SCHWEEET!!!
