  • This is what it was like coming out of the 80s, talk about confusing. So many tired of that 80s way of living & looking for something more, thank goodness grunge came along & other things shook things up, it was boring for a long time.

  • reppin' the BOA. bbc radio 5 live town of the year! o yes

  • WATCH THE VIDEO RESPONSE TO THE LEFT ITS AMAZING

  • This is why I hate religion, but love Jesus Jones.

  • Awesome rock song...belongs with the all-time greats. Love the lyrics too!

  • This is a great Song. I wish it was longer.☮

  • That song topped the charts in the US for a week but its an all time great rock song.

  • you tube isn't counting my views because i've watched this song at least 500,000 times my self

  • Kudos to the young Jesus Jones here.

  • Twenty years ago today (Christmas), the Soviet Union folded up shop. For those of you guys born later, let me tell you, it was like we had won a huge war. An old and deadly enemy finally collapsed under the weight of his own crimes. The fear of nuclear annihilation, that we lived with daily, was lifted. In recent times Islamic terrorism has exercised our fears, but the threat it poses was NOTHING compared to our struggle against Communist totalitarianism. Let's be grateful...

  • Loving it! ;)

  • Groovy bassline. I dig it.

  • I would like to redo this song and include images from the war that just recently ended yesterday (12/15/11). I think it deserves an update.

  • @roosevelthighschool seriously how amazing is that! I am still finding it hard to believe

  • What a fucking great song!

  • Porque ja não se faz mais musica como antigamente???

  • If you are a truth seeker, search "Truth Contest" in Google and click on the 1st result, then open The Present and read what it says. Everyone needs to see this. The Present will turn this world right-side up if it reaches enough people. You will see what I mean when you read the first page.

  • @capoesta18 that dancing is the highlight of my day lol @0:53

  • god bless one hit wonders

  • The lyrics are so profound that goes far beyond the cold war... It's like a zen poem, talking about the very awakening of the human race... right here, right now! I wonder if such young boys knew the meaning of it when they sung this song.

  • around the time this song was released, the World Wide Web was born.

  • recordando 1991

  • hold on now. 2 steps forward 1 step back remember. i still have faith in humantiy, and im native american. i still dont understand why white men introduced depression and greed to my people. turned a beautiful life into a struggle for happiness. point is the world will take a bit of time till its good agian!

    shity brains!

  • James Franco had a band?

  • This song was once used by KFMB TV News in 1999.

  • Why are we all arguing politics on a friggin music video. I'm sure we're all just as tired of seeing people post "shut up and enjoy to the music" but my god...shut up and enjoy the music

  • @butihum3 Ya ... the dems do sooooo well with destroying the American dream. Why do people want it ALL given to them, Because they can't do for themselves. Ask any illegal alien how it is that my tax money goes to educating his little bastard, when I can't even afford to put my kids through school. What about the illegals that get health care for free.... The list goes on... People do learn, we are learning right now what change is.

  • Such a shame this does not have more views.

  • @butihum3 Seriously, you need to hone your reading skills. I said the economy in the '90s STARTED out crappy but improved greatly after GB left office. Also I don't recall ever saying GB had anything to do with the end of the Cold War I merely said it ended. Understand?. Your paranoia is clouding your reasoning and BTW I'm left of center.

  • @cryptokinesis I'm also left of center. Although he was a TRULY EVIL OLD MAN, Ronald Reagan won the Cold War. He went into office with intent of bankrupting the Soviets in an arms race, and that's what he did.

  • me to

  • @butihum3 I guess it's in your perspective. I recall Bush V1.0 being in office for 2 years during the '90s (BTW GWB sadly makes him look really good in comparison). I also recall that the 90s started with the economy 'in the crapper' but by the mid-90s the economy was doing very well so well that we ended the decade with a record low unemployment rate of slightly less than 2%. Once again to say nothing of the end of the Cold War and the end of Apartheid.

  • Ha he's playing guitar hero

  • this is SHIT!

I WONDER WHY U GUYS CAN LISTEN TO THIS SHIT HOLE!

  • @fizi1313

    fuck you

  • @Markbeert

    fuck u too mark!

  • The Feelers cover of this is shit

  • Ronald Wilson Reagan= 666!

Just like his address in Bel Aire or wherever it was.."Facts are stupid things"--> quote from Ronny Reagan!!

  • @TwoPointsUp hey i like ronny reags plus that facts are stupid qoute only makes him more badass in my book he was a straight g

  • @aceintheholeism - What's a "straight g"?? Goofball, geriatric, generic nobody, gay, gross-out, gipper, G-spot, god, god-man, gentile, gorrilla, Godzilla...??? etc..

  • @TwoPointsUp etc..

  • The keyboard player is *Too High* to care what you critical, shit-4-brains-zero-personality-megalomaniac-dumbfucks- legend-in-your-own-mind, A-holes think, OK???? Your whole mind-set and head needs to be flushed down the stinking Toilet, DIG???

  • why do they have to put a flippin' commerical before this tune??! It doesn't fit at all, at all..

  • So meaningful a song wouldn't even be recognized in todays music.... sad face

  • The '90s were a hopeful time, weren't they? Cold war over. Apartheid ended. Democracy throughout Latin America. Too bad we fell back on our old habits.

  • @cryptokinesis cool name dude

  • @cryptokinesis So true - we got so much done in the 80's! Unfortuinately, that was just a drop in the bucket...I'm hopeful we'll get back on track one of these decades (pretty much, if we don't, we're screwed)!

  • @cryptokinesis You seriously are messed up. What habits are you talking about, comparing those times, and our times, is just plain STUPID. I hope you were joking, but ahhhh man..;-)

  • @cryptokinesis

Indeed, its sad to think that there are children who will never know what it was like to live in pre-9/11 America.

  • @cryptokinesis is the cold war really over?

  • @espertempo Not till the last commie is dead...

  • @cryptokinesis

It was a hopeful time. I thought the human race finally pulled it's head out of its ass. But then we began to hear "ethnic cleansing" and Jihad

  • @cryptokinesis

it was all a trick to prepare you for the pain

  • @cryptokinesis yes. too bad. but, I still have hope; watching the new generation that we have raised..... (the 99% WILL be heard.. ;) peace!

  • @cryptokinesis A MAN ON THAT

  • @cryptokinesis do you ever feel like you never understood the political metric, ever, in your life? I'm gently trying to tell you, you don't know shit.

  • 0:50 wtf is that dude in the red shirt doing? 90's downsyndrome ftl.

  • highschool of the dead

  • Reagan FUCK YOU!!!

  • @himmlertico I second that!

  • The greatest moment in history in the past 50 years, and most people don't know or remember. I thank God every day for Ronald Reagan. This song puts the crown on the 80s.

  • @dugandean I agree with you about Reagan, but Gorbachev and De Klerk should get equal billing.

  • This year's Rugby World Cup brought me here

  • @DarriusADetenamo Omg! Me too!! GO THE ALLBLACKS!

  • Awesome song England!

  • dave grohl prior to nirvana.......soooooooh cute!

  • @LeighTheGenius: Look, you ain't genius so calm yourself down. All I'm saying is that this band is English and after the 90's, the English has been coming out with awful stuff. Didn't say anything derogatory about Black music or comparing Black to White music so step off and watch what you say. FYI, I'm not white.

  • lol look at tha muppet on the keyboard haha

  • the lovin' ninetiez!1

  • @spruceX7 You can't do that (unless you're Chuck Norris)

  • The world really can change in the blink of an eye.

  • Esta canción fue para mi la puerta de los 90...

  • nirvana changed nothing. They were an alternative rock band. Thier influence on pop or rock is nothing. The change in music in general, relative to the hot 100, is just a natural progression.

  • This was the 90's when the English was coming out with alot of great bands, then I don't know what happened...

  • @glyph01 FUCK THE ENGLISH IM BLACK WE MAKE REAL MUSIC YOU HOPELESS LITTLE WHITE BITCH BLACK POWER!!!

  • @LeighTheGenius You do your brothers a fine disservice. Way to go retard. EPIC FAIL!

  • @IRulesMe FUCK U BITCH MY DICK IS BIGGER THAN UR FACE AND WE R OUTBREEDING YOU ALL HAHAHAHHAHA IN 50 YEARS IT WILL BE BLACKS AND MUSLIMS AND INDIANS AND BARELY ANY WHITES HAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHA COZ UR WOMEN LOOOOVE OUR DICKS N SEX DRIVES ;) YUMMMMM BLACK PRIDE BLACK POWER ;)

  • @LeighTheGenius I'm sure they love your spelling too! The only idiots that believe that about dick size are people like you, rappers and comedians. NO evidence to support your claim, and since you yourself talk about how big it is and type it like a fucking 5 year old, I'm guessing you are packing a .25 at best. As far as your "outbreeding" claim goes? That won't happen either when people like you will continue to kill each other for Nikes, stereos, and clothing colors. <Native American.

  • @LeighTheGenius im not racist and dont think ppl should be but we all have different opinions, if your gonna be such a racist faggot thn fuck off.

  • #1 smash on the Radio and Records (now discontinued) CHR/Pop charts as used by Casey's Top 40 and Rick Dees Weekly Top 40. It spent just one week there. Brilliant song with loads of samples, but does anyone have any confirmation on the exact samples used? Please share...

  • @UltraPOPDJ Jesus Jones has a Facebook .... just ask them :) They do talk to people, and fyi they have recently begun touring again. They just finished some gigs in Australia. JJ FTW !!!!

  • Lol @ the keyboard player dancing

  • lol :D

  • Off to see them live now. Saw them 20 years ago - will be great if they can muster even 1/2 the energy of that night.

  • Enough with the "This is 90s/80s" debacle. Look people, music shifted when Nirvana hit the scene in LATE 1991. There are numerous songs from the 80s that are mistakenly thought of as 90s songs such as Edie Brickell's "What I am" and Tracy Chapman's "Fast Car." GET OVER YOURSELVES!

  • To bad this is the 90's.

  • This the best song of its time has less than 500k views while rebecca black's Friday had 100 million views pffftttt

  • I always thought 'Manic Street Preachers' can cover this song nicely..

  • Most people consider the end of 80's-style music to be roughly 1992 (at least, I do) which is when "grunge" took over. Not much that has come along since then has captured the attention that 80's Dance, Rock and Pop did.

  • Yes, it's a "90s" song... but its flavor coincides more with late-80s than with later music in the 90s. Perhaps one might call it "post-80s 80s music". ;-) I graduated in 1991, after watching the Berlin Wall fall, and several other changes. This song has always been iconic for that time in my life.

  • One of the few bright spots of the 90s for me, but then I'm a child of the 80s and this could have been an 80s song!

  • F- tae brooks.

You know both the 80's and 90's were a good period for music when today's youth is constantly looking the songs up. The other day I looked up "New song" by Howard Jones and all of these kids were talking about how the show "skins" brought them there. I guess I cant blame them though. There was more creativity in one hour of MTV back then then there is in a whole year of today's music.

  • hello copyright infringrment i just wanted to hear the song, ads for addidas was iT Adis Ababa why such an Ad?

  • First, this video cannot be replayed enough, and i have to wonder how this style became the modern gangsta look >.< It's rather depressing :/

  • jesus, i love this song ;)

  • someone needs to kick the fuck out of the keyboard and bass player...2 dumb asses...

  • good times...good memories

  • THX VH1!!!

For bringing back some good memories

  • Why is it that opponents of 90s music try to bunch it in with 80s music? it wasn't the 80s you cretins, it was the 90s. the 80s was wham and boy george. if you don't understand the difference, buy a book.

  • @sabrettes - Really, it's like saying Pythagoras lived in the time of Clement of Alexandria! Get your facts fucking straight folks, for Christ's sake!

  • I remember being a junior poli-sci major in college when this song came out, this song seemed the perfect theme to the end of the cold war.

  • This song was big in the clubs in January 1991 when I moved from Knoxville TN out to Phoenix AZ. Jesus Jones & EMF. Good times...

  • @TheBukrules - I think you and I hung out in the same clubs.

  • @ryuujin23 I miss those days, honestly. Even though I was blotto half the time, things seemed so much simpler then, almost with an air of innocence. That sounds stupid, but like I said earlier, good times, right? Cheers!

  • I can never get enough of this song!!! I love it.

  • 0:53 and 0:57 ... Cocaine's a helluva drug man

  • Lol ,, I got a husband I feel the same friggin way about !!!!!!!!! She can take him with her !!!!!

  • Thumbs up if Tae sent you here!

  • @tynecarlin He sent me here(:

  • this is random, but he looks like a male Courtney Cox

  • What's this guy been up to? He like disappeared off the face of the Earth.

  • Tae Brooks sent me here too :)

  • Tae Brooks sent me here.<3 :)))

  • It´s waaaay strange to listen this great song looking at the ads that shows the sh**y face of Pitbull... just sayin...

  • DE WUEVOSSSSSS

  • I am the "C" rapper & I create one note, bad poetry. The music industry is now hard at work, destroying the Human element from all music by brainwashing the youth to march to the beat of robots with auto tune.

For the sake of Humanity, only endorse Humans that still use melody.

  • Love this clip !! :-DD Hope to see you back on my page, have a nice week end

  • So much better than EMF!

  • i forgot all about this song.. <3

  • How many people are actually happy at this present time, right here right now in 2011?

  • This song makes me so happy!!!

  • 1. I AM SOOOO SICK OF ADVERTS, I AM HERE TO ENJOY VIDEOS, NOT LISTEN ABOUT SOME FUKKIN RANDOM CHEESE LICE PRODUCT...FUKK ME..

    2. I AM SOOOO SICK OF HAVING TO TYPE A BUNCH OF RANDOM LETTERS THAT I CANNOT EVEN READ, I JUST WANNA MAKE A SHORT COMMENT, FUKK!!!

  • Gen X bands rock.

  • does the lead singer look just like JOHN MAYER????? ....MAYBE??

  • @joeyinwichita It's not John Mayer, these guys are from the UK

  • @joeyinwichita no way i did my research not even close......................maybe you need glasses

  • There was a reference to them on the venture brothers, hilarious!

  • The power of Wikipedia: "The song was inspired by events in Eastern Europe of the late 1980s and early 1990s, such as the fall of the Berlin Wall." You people don't even know how to Google stuff, do you? Can we please stop the petty religion wars below? To each his/her own. Now shut up and listen.

  • Got the neon - not yet a teenager - am I old yet?

  • I'd say this song could use an update.

  • @roosevelthighschool haha I'm working on one right now.

  • genuinely meaningful music, the doubt album is one of my favourite albums of all time. It brings back such fond memories of doing D of E hikes across the south east of england with a ghetto blaster on our backs playing this, a beer in one hand and a big bifta in the other. Amazing times.

  • The fucking 90's!!!!!

  • Back before LV hats were.... JJ was ahead of his time

  • 34 people don't have musical intellect

  • like the accoustics

  • I remember this song being used for the CNN adverts during the later mid 90's.

  • BRITISH GOLD!

  • 0:09 and 0:13 on the map Czechoslovakia :D...for everybody, now are Slovakia and Czech Republic, yes :)???

  • This song defines a generation. I heard it for the first time when I just thought he just came on after Yo! MTV raps. Don't forget everyone from generation Wolfenstein: Right here right now is the one place I want to be.

  • mucho tema!!!!

  • Didnt you use this same comment about the 80's bar in Heaven and your ex-gf rotting in hell in another utube video page??? i know u did but i like it!!! i have to admit i stole your "I Hope theres an 80's bar in Heaven" phrase & put it on my facebook and its a hit!! so thanks...sorry, im a plagiarist, but its a nice thing to hope for and alot of people feel the same way...So i'll see you in the great 80's Bar in Heaven!!! i'll order you a cold one buddy!

  • @coindude69 YES,I USE IT EVERYWHERE!! AND GLAD TO KNOW IT HAD SOME EFFECT ON SOMEONE!!IT IS ACTUALLY THE TRUTH..I DID UPGRADE IT TO INSTEAD OF GOING TO HELL,I MADE IT "ROTTING IN HELL..And u are not being a plagiarist..it"s a comment that should live in infamy!! Spread the word loud and clear to everyone...LOL...And definitely save me a cold one.I will be there as soon as i poof out my hair, put on my Jordan's,and decide whether i should wear a hawaiian shirt or a nice fluorescent green one!!

  • I HOPE THERE IS AN 80'S BAR IN HEAVEN!!! MY EX-GIRLFRIEND CAN LISTEN TO ALL OF HER DUMB ASS MUSIC WHILE SHE IS ROTTING IN HELL!!!!

  • @myjoeyd damn straight man

  • @myjoeyd win

  • @myjoeyd pssst, this song came out in the ninties :X

  • @KillyBesel i know, buty it was early enough to still feel 80' music....and pssst, the correct spelling is NINETIES...I LEARNED HOW TO SPELL IN THE 80'S ALSO!!

  • @myjoeyd Interesing, I came to this vid, cause Jesus put this song in my head when I was out preaching about him to people at the gas station. I had to look it up. Turns out you are talking about heaven and hell and also the band's name is Jesus Jones. So cool how God confirms himself. This is not an accident. Jesus loves you and died for your sins. If you confess Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Then read his word. He is REAL!

  • @TheImmortalTree no, it has nothing to do with religion. This song is about living in the 1980s when it was written, where everyone talked about the "60's revolution that had already passed us all by. It is about right here right now intesad of living in the past for a revolution that was long over. And how everyone talked about how great the music was in the 60s and 70s. He wanted everyone to know that current music was where it was all about. That's what Jesus Jones said in an interview.
