Elephants are far too intelligent & social to be happy in a circus, where they are routinely chained for up to 23 hours at a time and beaten with sharp metal-tipped bullhooks, to perform. Are silly circus tricks really worth all this animal abuse? I used to go to circuses with my family but can't go now, knowing what each dollar supports.
If you're against cruelty to wildlife, I implore you not to visit circuses like Ringling or Carson & Barnes that have performing/traveling animals!
Humans are animals, and you who soon forget that we are abused by our government dare complain about the pain we bring on to other creatures? Take something that doesn't belong to you (jail) fight back against an authority (Prison) tell the teacher no (detention) people who complain about forcing animals seem to always forget that you do what you do because you are forced to, and now that your doing it, EVERYTHING IS OKAY!
"Elephants in circuses are reduced to objects of entertainment for people. An elephant's place is in the wild with its relatives and companions. The totally unnatural existence for circus elephants is a travesty and to allow this practice to continue is unjustified and unethical. The elephants are not happy, nor do they enjoy what they are doing. The maintenance and training of circus elephants involves emotional and physical abuse. "
It looks amazing with just people performing, you have to be really sick in the head to enjoy watching animals suffer...... oh sorry, i mean performing
@circusm138 Why? Have you looked into the deaths associated with this circus, also considered that animals in circuses are in need of a better, wild envrionment?
@Missrainbowmuffin Yep, they should definitely be put back in the wild. Just ask all those elephants that are hunted and trapped by the native tribes of the wild.
@KikiC423 Thats the catch aint it...humans tend to stomp over animals for their own needs. Its understandable...but circuses are in my opinion the worst life for an elephant. At least in africa, they can freely roam to an extent...circuses and zoos deny elephants much space they need. Thats my argument anyways, sure its fucked either way...no shit....lol
@KikiC423 do u have any idea how thes elephants are trained!? Seriously. There mother is chained by all fours so they can take the baby away, then the babys are chained all4 feet until it submitts . Then with loads of ropes, man power, and bullhocks they physically force the elephants to sit on a tub and ropes are tied around it's front legs so men can lift its legs up. An old trainer quite and has shown and talked about it. Dont believe me? Then look it up. It need to be closed down! Its sick!!
@KikiC423 Its not propaganda as i didn't even get it ofPETA actually. So dont think i did when i didn't and i saw the video and heard what the man said on youtube and it wasn't done by PETA!
@littlesercet So... because a man said it on YouTube, that makes it true? There have been a lot of abuse cases in circuses around the world, but not all of them are bad. If you don't believe me, go to a Shriner circus (behind the scenes) and watch how they train their animals. They have fun with it and the animals do, too. It's the same as training a dog to dance or a horse to strut in a parade. There are good methods and bad, but more often than not, a good method is used.
@KikiC423 I agree theres good and bad but there is a line , were physically force and beating with have to be used to get the animal to do what the trainer whats them to do. Such as elephants standing on their heads, and how do you know all the behind the scenes wasn't just for show? Plus ringling have a long history of abusing there animals a number of animals have died as a result and have been fined 1000s just to shit care of their animals.
@littlesercet Like I said, there are good and bad methods. An elephant standing on his head is no crazier than a dog riding a bike or walking a tightrope. But they are on tv all the time on talent shows, doing what they're trained to do. They have just been trained, it doesn't mean they've been abused. Like I said, a few bad occurences don't mean that all circuses are bad. Idk about B&B, but you can tell the animals at Shriners' are having fun, you can see it in them.
@KikiC423 But thats the think dogs shouldn't be riding bike's nor should bears or monkeys etc. In order to train wild animals, the big cats, elephants etc etc they are things that an animal would point blank refuse to do unless they were abused. No matter what you say, though i agree there are good ways and bad ways, in order to get any circus animal to perfom they have to have been beaten to some degree.
The music makes me want to go get my posse and my six shooter and then eat a steak with A1 sauce.
