I followed this to the letter and what keeps happening is this: In browse mode - whenever I pull down the drop-down list and select a new value, it overwrites the new value that I selected with the old value that was selected... Any ideas?
Let me return the favor. In the minute 3:36 before pressing the OK button, check the "Show values only from second field" checkbox and you will get the same behavior.
Well, it is working for me. Once I click out of the menu it keeps showing the name, and the id field is containing the id number. I am using FMPro Advanced 10.0v3 on a Mac OS 10.5.6
Thank you very much. I find this video very helpful, exactly what I wanted to accomplish. I was linking my tables through the name instead of the ID because I didn`t know how to display the related name. I will go now to my FMP10 and apply this new knowledge.

anmekg, that will only work while the menu is active. Once you click out of the field you will only see a number.
