yellowstone is thought to go off about every 600 thousand years. scientists seem to think we are overdue for another one. that may be, but when you look at 600 thousand years, that's a pretty long time line. now that we possess the power to destroy ourselves, and given our nature, i'd say we are doomed based on our nature.

exactly - I was thinking the same thing - it's like a tea kettle, and Old Faithful with it's BIZARRE exactness in it's heat eruptions is perhaps the hole in the top of the top to let the steam out - keep it from blowing up for now... My soul is right with the Lord (I pray) so there's not much we can do.

apparantly a part of yellow stone has got more sctive sign of doomsday? i thinknot they say it erupts every 600,000 years and is 400 years over due as of 2012/13 but if you reaserch the latest was 600,000 years ago but the one before that was 2.5 million years ago so it was 1.7 million years over due?
