  • Julie Peasgood all covered in soft, soapy Radox bubbles. God, I love the 80's :-b

  • The only person who could truly appreciate Silkience is Predator.

No wonder his dreads look so well maintained.

  • Ah! The good old 80's - a time when it was possible to leave your car boot open and full of groceries and no one would think of stealing them (or the car). It's all sexting and happy slapping nowadays.

  • @jockadoobee Too true my good man, too true. Why I remember in the 80's football fans were a lovely bunch of fellows, you'd get none of this drunken shouting and whatnot that you get on the terraces nowadays.

And young ladies refrained from opening their particulars until they got married to a fine gentleman. Not like now, when marriage is so undervalued.

Yes, the 80's. So different to nowadays. ;)

  • This was the day I was born

  • WOW These are ads broadcast the day after i was born!!!

  • I remember the Mr. Kipling advert, I was 12 in 1985

  • Win Lesley Crowthers garden! Must enter competition 5:44

  • @EssexIrons theres probably vodka bottles buried at the bottom

  • lol, people just dont talk like they did in 1985, innit!

  • Can anyone identify the make / model of computer @ 0.39? It actually looks like there are many pieces missing if you freeze frame (and rather dated even by 80s standards !). Apropos the Post Office Giro Bank ad - in 1985 "banking hours" were 9.30am to 3.30pm so having a bank that opened between 9am to 5.30pm weekdays and 9am until 1pm at weekends was something of a selling point.

  • Tasty Yummy Mummy in the radox add!! :)

  • @1969atam Julie Peasgood.

  • does that Silkience touch cover 'feel me, touch me' by the Who? lol

  • Sweetex - why be fat when you can contract cancer instead?

  • National GiroBank, we're different because we have more to offer, we'll take your savings, then use them to pay off debts and go bust =) congratulations!

  • National GiroBank, we're different because w ehave more to offer, we'll take your savings, then use them to pay off debts and go bust =) congratulations!

  • 5:34. havn't seen that bank around have u ?

  • @oliviaw83 was the old post office bank

  • @oliviaw83 That's because it was privatised, which completely negated the whole point of the GiroBank.

  • I actually remembered the taste of French fancies when I watched the ad!!!! Strange!

  • and now nan has joined a bike gang and gets pissed with Carlsberg special brew

Everyone loves nostalgia and I am sure I read somewhere that companies were starting to do it because it raises sales that I can beleive. I can recomend watching the pirate weetabix add its awsome.

  • @flyingdamingo Did you see the lego advert on tv a few weeks ago with tommy cooper as the voice over that advert was definetely made in the eighties good times.

  • All the worlds problems, solved with a cup of tea, lol.

  • Science brings you Silkience....nowerdays it's more like "Infused with nuetrellium and cryptonite for a shine you can see from Jupiter!"

This was when Science started badgering women and indeed there after men, with bollocks about chemicals in a vein effort to try and amaze and impress the average ignoranus....WTF..it's either got it or it doesn't...I don't need warp speed hair shampoo LOL!

  • The music in the Radox "Yakerty-Yak" has been used in so many ads over the 1980s and 1990s - that example was the first that I remember.

  • 'Great ball of cheese!' lol, i weren't even born when these came out

  • where the fuck do ye get this footage!!? no seen this shit since late 80's

  • That was the year I was born!! So cool to see TV adverts from the UK!

  • these ads were aired one week before my 6th birthdays... 23 years on i still remember them, i cannot say the same for the adverts i watched yesterday
