i took tihr on the first try heres how, i had the max units you can have at 25-50 and had abot 31-36 nord hurcarls and sergeants, i put my archers on the first wall then attack the second wall with my infantry. it shoudnt be hard to brake threw the second wall. if your besieging a castle/town that has no lord in it just keep your infantry where you start off at snd the enemy will start charging down the ladder from the castle to be slaughtered

No, there are no siege engines in the game. They're just props/decoration.

No, you can do as yuo like but you have to be enemies with the faction first. So attack some caravans or lords to become enemies and then besiege one of their castles. You'll be at war with everyone though - so it's tough.

Wow, how this game has grown.

I stumbled upon this years ago, back when siege play was first introduced. It was nothing more than a band of men guarding a wall. XD But I still bought the license and played the hell out of it. The combat never gets old, and running your own ragtag band of miscreants and turning them into an army is an added bonus.

But now, you can invade castle towns and storm the keep itself. Freaking amazing.

I also spotted the MP expansion on the site. Didn't dig too deep into it, but how did they implement it? Namely how many players and their troops are allowed on the map?

@JapanForSale There can be a total of 64 players + 100 bots for each team. Thats the max and as you can figure a bit laggy. The Top ranked player of a team is allowed to control the bots unless instructed otherwise by the admin that runs the server.

I said different races, they'd look different than eachother (like they do now) and they'd have different units (like they do now) and different castle schemes (like they do now) so according to you this game is crappy already. I didnt say add wizards and magic and potions, but underground dungeon levels would be awesome, add offhand torches. And it would be a mod so technically i would ruin nothing.

Make sure your a vassal to a kingdom, and that the castle your sieging is of an opposing kingdom.

Oh, okay. The spies are the same in all towns: some civilian walking around.

When given the quest you are told what to tell the spy. Simply talk to all the civilians walking around town and say the phrase.

At some point you're lucky.

Well, unless you mean the quest to capture a spy, then he's usually outside "Unremarkable Travellers".

However, wait for him to reach the guy he's supposed to reach, otherwise you fail the quest.

if you want decent crossbow fire, then choose Rhodocks FFS...Swadian crossbows don't compensate for the "no armour" troops...their only fine troop is their knights...apart from that, as cordman1221 said "they're just cows to slaughter"...period

No. After a few days (about 2-6) you will receive a message from the king saying wether or not you have been granted the castle. The message is full screeen so you won't miss it.

It's a 1./3. person medieval fighting game with both RPG and strategy elements. You control your army during battles, and on a real-time overland map you move your army around, conquering land. Think Medieval 2 in 1./3. person, but with smaller battles (a bit like the one in this video). The combat is unseen in any other game and that's definitely the focus.

They're just for show. There's no artillery in the game, other than arrows :)

Huscarls rock... its best if you get recruits and train them all to Footmen,then Trained Footmen,then Nord Warriors,Nord Veterans,then Huscarls. Huscarls are awesome,I only have 3,and they were all alive whenever me and 4 other people survived an attack I did on a Lord with 104 people.

No, you just need to be hostile towards the faction. That means you're either a lord of a faction at war with the other faction or you just attack their troops. But it's good to have many troops.

as long as you have enuf ppl 2 besiege a castle/town(around 15+),and you have good experience in the game, you can basically own everyone

I love this game! I'm the leader of my own faction and control all of the Nord lands and some of the Vaegir lands. A bit hard though since I'm at war with all the other kingdoms and only have one party to fend off invaders with. Btw, I highly recommend a Swadian Knight-only team, those beasts can destroy an army of 200+ Nords without a scratch (also incredibly effective during sieges).

You can't declare war. Wars are declared automatically (supposedly by the kings/khan).

But there is a quest that will provoke war between two factions: It's given by one of your fellow lords. It's a quest to raid two caravans from another faction and thereafter war will be declared. But unfortunately you can't decide which faction...

Strange. Are you sure it's Tihr and not Tevarin Castle. Tevarin looks a bit like Tihr, but without the outer wall; There's only the castle wall.

Yes, you need to be at war with the faction.

Then you go to the castle and choose the option 'besiege'.

You need quite a few men. I would say at least 50 men if the castle has 100-150 in the garrison.

Well, this video is the native game. Nothing is changed. So if your game looks different then try fiddling with the settings.

But there are also some mods that feature overly shiny armour textures.

To film all over over the place you enable 'edit mode'. It's under:

Configure > Advanced > Enable Edit Mode.

When playing, you press Ctrl + E and move the camera with the mouse and WASD keys.

(remove selected obstacles by pressing H).

To do slow motion you press Ctrl + F9 - or do it afterwards in the video program used to make the video.

Hard to say. it depends on the settings and most of all how large battles (amount og men) you want. The official minimum requirements are:

CPU: 1 Ghz

RAM: 512 mb

Harddisk: 700 mb

GPU: 64 mb

DirectX version 7 (but also supports 9)

Windows 98 and up.

If you can settle for medium graphics and a battlesize of about 80-100, then an old Pentium 4, 1 gb ram and a geforce 6 series could do it. But it's really hard to say.

Yes, and yes. Editing your face is very detailed, but you can't choose your height.

You can choose which faction to support and become a lord. You can also choose to be a rebel or even overthrow a king by helping a claimant to the thrown - creating a civil war. You can do pretty much what you like, but you can't become a king/khan.

You can by becoming a masterless warlord. First choose which factions you want to claim, take it and your king/khan. But thats is the most difficult of parts and you need to be very defensive just to stay alive. And have lots of money.

you're forgetting how to be able to besiege castles/towns as a masterless warlord. You need to have cheats enabled on the loader
