  • soul personified

  • Built like a linebacker.....voice of a God.

  • Fantastic song and singer. But the trousers Oh My. Please ladies close your eyes!

  • I was 14 in 1966.. England Won the World Cup... & Otis Redding was one of my 1st influence on music...Could life get any better? just wish i could have seen him live, unfortunately he was killed the year i had planned to.

  • Holy shit - how can anyone hear this and not realize what's been missing in this world??? Three minutes and thirty nine seconds of perfect "couples counseling"...

  • @zepploid amen you got that right

  • @zepploid Mr. Pitiful himself. This guy was one of the pillars of soul music. What presence. No glamor or posturing. He's a template of masculinity: Strong but able to acknowledge his sufferings and share his sorrows with dignity. A credit to his race: The human race, that is. His music helps reduce human suffering.

  • @drjimiboy69 very well said friend . A soul brother of the highest defintion.Tough but tender ,strong but sensitive. All the good and bad of life expressed in the emotional, melodic beauty of a voice which is otis redding.

  • I wish these pants were in style now. Anything is better than sagging & skinny jeans. Yuck!

  • damn , perfect sound, perfect soul

  • Those pants yes hahaha...Otis my hero...and this song ..this breathtaking song is my all time number one..uno...ein..een..!!!

Die broek ja.....Otis is mijn held...en dit nummer is mijn alltime nummer 1..! Thanks Crimevalley...Bert ...

  • i fucking love Otis..but damn! those pants! LOL

  • Wow....speechless.

  • L' inarrivabile soulman più grande di tutti !!!!!

    Otis sei immortale !!!!

  • Caso alguém esteja em dúvida: isso é o que a gente chama de CANTOR. Com todas as letras! O resto é mentira, pode crer

  • I love this version, the band is so tight and Otis' voice drips with passion and urgency that nobody has ever matched and ever will. It nearly brings tears to my eyes

  • Chrissy!!!

    ...Get the reference?

  • Damn! That voice!

  • This is fantastic, I'm always thinking I've heard his best stuff and POW, off we go again, I could cry could I.

  • u can clearly see his dick there lol i kno i kno "why is he looking down there?" - it just pops out shit ! soulful singer though by far

  • @kabd45 yea man, i wonder if he wore underwear at all.. but well he prolly gained even more female fans with that...

  • That performance is almost powerful enough to bring those pants back into fashion!

  • @keetao1977 lol almost... i wonder if they were even in fashion back then

  • hes probably what made white women start liking black men. Dayuum what a singer

  • It's wacked, but this version makes this song my favorite song, ever. I feel every word in this song. It just slaps you in the face and punches you in the heart.

  • How in the world was he 25 years old in this video lol? He looks and sounds like he's 40 lol.

  • Wow!! I can still feel this song to bones! As for Otis's pants; that was a style back in the days called "Matadors". Usually, sharkskin, silk mohair...

  • Love him!

Now just to be comical - why those pants? Why are the pants up to his arm pits! Hilarious fashion....but nothing can hide his soul and fabulous voice! Wish we had these kinda of artists today.

  • Ahh Otis. I wish I had as much soul as Otis did. That brutha looked like he could just walk into a room and dominate it. I love how Otis can throw a few extra syllables into a word and give it a whole new meaning...00:57, "...whatchu-er gonna do tonight?" Absolutely nothing like that today. Ain't nobody tearin' up songs like this anymore.

  • Otis is the best performer ever! He is the only artist to have never of sang a bad song.

  • @dominusurfimus well, maybe Ray Charles too....still, Otis is my favorite of all time!

  • OTIS REDDINGS IS R. KELLY TODAY

  • @starofthesea58 lol not

  • as my grandmother(lord bless her soul)would say"THAT NEGRO SUNG THAT SONG"...LOL...CLASSIC!!!

  • THIS THREE YEARS BEFORE MY MOM WAS BORN

  • To the person who wondered what it would have been like to live in the oldies,i was overseas with some guys that went to school with Otis, and i saw them cry upon hearing of this death. We are now in our 70s now and i for one don't listen to this crap call music today.Nothing like the 60s /70s as far as music goes. Not only Otis, but other greats. Those were the days........

  • @TheGeorgia726 actually , it is ... music from 90s . Number of popple also was also crying over Kurt , we had such a trementous bands like Rage Against The Machine, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, The Fugees and rap music like Dr Dre, and Snoop first albums. For me is nothing like 90's , if its about Rock and Hip Hop . But if its about Soul - its Thrue -after 60/70s there was nothing else.Nothing like Otis or Marvin etc

  • This video really capture Otis Redding soulfulness. I stream it on my big screen t v and nearly go crazy watching him sing. It's like no way this man is gone. Thanks for posting because I have enjoy Otis Redding music since I was a teenager. 40+ yrs

  • This song is a must on a real soul party!

  • This man still makes you feel like he is alive! Miss me some Otis Redding, one the greatest Soul Singers ever!

  • What a pants

  • he is the definition of soul.

  • Hahahaha to the comment below me. I thought that same thing, verbatim!

  • Such a great song, such awful pants.

  • @Rominucka When this was recorded, he was considered a snappy dresser. What more can I say.

  • How does this only have 11K views?

  • astonishing

  • listen to the words...

  • CLASSIC!!!! MY LIFE IS SUCH A WEARY THING

  • Mi Gado!
