  • what a pathetic plane. they actually hope to replace the p-3 with it?

  • @TheMsdos25

What do you mean "hope" to replace? It's a done deal, and the P-8 is MUCH more capable. You just sound like a disgruntled FE.

  • @83rkt WTF they already did it? now i gonna have deal with these flying over all the time now

  • @TheMsdos25 They'll be in JAX in 2 years, then HI, Whidbey gets them last.

  • @83rkt thats good if Whidbey airbase gets them last then i wont have to watch them fly over for a while. i guess the p3 is still used for training which is all that airbase dose

  • it's gonna suck when the bear and P-3-ski can do better ASW than us :-/

  • P8 is a WHITE ELEPHANT.

It is IMPOSSIBLE to replace a naval 4 engine turboprop, with a wide body airliner with 2 jet engines.

    IMPOSSIBLE

  • love the sound of those CFM56-7B's!

  • @HIllCarver The p-8 has raked wingtips instead of the blended winglets used on some variants of 737

  • could he climb any slower? lol jk.

  • i work on the AP-3C orion and there great but way to old we will still be flying them for almost 15 more years. and with the turbo prob they can fly very low and slow for Anti sub which is why the p8 will suck because its not slow.

  • would it be better if they could have just given the p3 a new airframe with advance composites, turbofans are faster than turboprops yes,,but turboprop driven aircraft are maneuverable then turbofan powered, correct me if im wrong

  • so if they build the new 737's with winglets why not the p8?

  • its kind of sad. i dont see why the navy has to replace the p-3 orion. if you ask me, its just waste of time.

  • My son is an AWO and can't wait for these to hit the fleet. P-3s are breaking down faster than the mechs can fix em.

  • @jjaagg5050 i work on the P3 and its awesome do good maintainence and they last for ages just getting spare parts is how trouble.

  • @GuyWillo Thanks Guy! I know it's a difficult job to "Keep em flying", and I appreciate the work that you do. My son is with VP-45 in Jax. They just received the Battle E and finished up their quals. The Pelican newsletter said that all flights launched on time or were early. So Bravo Zulu to you and your crew!

  • Is this down in Seattle?

  • @MrBeastieBro yeah well kind of it is in Renton.

  • better off going with the new C-130J instead of the P8

  • @brent52 do you even know what these are used for?

  • @DivineBetrayal

yeah....since living NAS Moffit and working around P-3 and C-130 stationed back East.. So, getting the P8 is a jet engine mistake. The Navy would be better off using the C-130J model.

  • i cant wait to fly in this!

  • Nothing against Boeing, but a jet aircraft as a maritime patrol aircraft doesn't seem right the me. I personally think a prop is a better fit, but that's just me. Intimidating aircraft none the less!

  • @sixxgunxquota I agree. Turboprops are better for low altitude loitering than are turbofan jets. Someone bought some High Ranking Navy guys some expensive hookers , I suppose.

  • @jasong19711 I second that........I wonder how high would it fly and if it has to fly lower for how long could it be and at what speed

  • I have to say, that 737 looks very intimidating.

  • Awesome! Brings back memories of working on the 737NG on the Renton flightline.

  • Ah, right in my beautiful city of Renton! :)

  • submarine sandwiches

  • The P-8 eats subs

  • Is P8 a next antisubmarine patrol aircraft of U.S. Navy?

  • yes...

thats right, US, AUS and India as well.

    はい、そうです

    アメリカ合衆国(アメリカ海軍) オーストラリア(オーストラリア空軍) インド(インド海軍)

    でしょう

  • it really looks like B737.

    right??

  • Yeah, it is a Boeing 737...with a shitload of missiles and bombs, for anti-ship and anti-sub warfare.

  • i see, how come US decided to make P-8 for B-737 base!?

    money resource geting so bad??

it really does parformance good enough to work??

but, anyhow we proud of own technology to made Kawasaki XP-1.

    sorry, its no oppression...

  • Cannot wait to see these things flying around North Florida!

  • hahahahaha deadly 737

  • Beautiful. I can't wait to see it with its missiles loaded. That and watch the torp test.
