first of all, he specifically mentions horus and krishna (although there are many other pagan copycat examples). If one would do their homework, a virgin birth is never attributed to krishna and the Hindu scriptures never mention a crucifixion. As to horus, there are 2 separate birth accounts and neither depicts a virgin birth, horus is never said to have been crucified, and horus birth was actually during the month of khoiak (October-November).
@carogame There is enough to match up from other, older religions that a person can easily come to believe that they borrowed from those religions...characters who were said to be born of a virgin and/or baptised by another well-known figure, and/or was called "son of god/man", and/or was some sort of carpenter/stone mason/etc. It's very recycled and derivative.
@newguy33X did you know that many of the other stories are written after the Bible (not all) and most have been altered or changed throughout the ages? What sources have you looked at? You have to remember that there were prophecies about Jesus from about 1500 years before He was born. Look at the original texts of other religions. Just look at all the prophecies in the Bible to come true and all the archeological discoveries that verify the Bible.
@carogame I know that the bible has been changed throughout time. It's easy to edit to make prophesies come true. The fact that it has been edited and changed makes me more and more doubtful it's got anything to do with a god instead of just with people. It's got some history in it, city names, but some historical flaws too. Rome never had a census of the empire where Mary and Joseph would have had to go back to their hometown, for example.
What do I think? I think the interviewers got too emotional and obviously are irrational thinkers. Instead of letting the guest, who they invited, finish his sentences...they got personal and upset. first of all, he specifically mentions horus and krishna (although there are many other pagan copycat examples). If one would do their homework, a virgin birth is never attributed to krishna and the Hindu scriptures never mention a crucifixion. As to horus, there are 2 separate birth accounts and neither depicts a virgin birth, horus is never said to have been crucified, and horus birth was actually during the month of khoiak (October-November).

You have to remember that there were prophecies about Jesus from about 1500 years before He was born. Look at the original texts of other religions. Just look at all the prophecies in the Bible to come true and all the archeological discoveries that verify the Bible.

@carogame I know that the bible has been changed throughout time. It's easy to edit to make prophesies come true. The fact that it has been edited and changed makes me more and more doubtful it's got anything to do with a god instead of just with people. It's got some history in it, city names, but some historical flaws too. Rome never had a census of the empire where Mary and Joseph would have had to go back to their hometown, for example.

Many religious people won't keep it to themselves, or let god handle it, so they shove blame and hate down other people's throats. While I enjoy the process that eventually leads to reproduction I think the meaning of life is much more than that, for example love. Love can exist between two women or two men just like between women and man. Homosexual can ask donors to reproduce and live a happy family life, why should the human race disappear?
