i have not gone up against Jaguarandi, (mostly because of i chose to attack than retreat with Fei-yen.) but Bal bas bow just drives me lunatic. everyone i know whos played Virtual On never play as bal bas bow (and i should know, its not very good) but the computer seems to be an expert.
The Sega Saturn was completely ahead of its time, i got one when it came out around the same time the PlayStation and it really aggravated me when i found out that the system couldn't continue to make games. Bug, Clockwork Knight, Virtual On, The horde, all of these games were awesome, i can't believe what happened to this console, it practically disappeared in existence. Anyone who agrees say something. And if you disagree, too bad i had BOTH systems, haha.
@TakeYorTen, man i grow up playing SEGA systems since the Genesis, good days man, i miss Sega,i still watched the evolution of the 2D to 3D, and man, games like this, Sonic Adventure, Shenmue, Panzer dragoon,Bug, Clockwork Knight, Nights, Daytona, Afterburner, Outrun, man, and this list goes on and on... It brings memories from the times when life was simple, we were little kid's growing up and playing our games and being blown away by epicness,
Those joysticks on the arcade machine sure could take a beating. I damn near broke them off several times until someone finally did and they replaced it with Cruising USA.
the only 1 iv ever played is cyber troopers cuz one of my local arcades has it set up iv never played marz force or ontario tangram r any of em good cuz i luv cyber troopers and temjin
This...was my fav theme ever from the Saturn. Too bad I only had the demo to this game though, but this song is so beautiful to the point I played the demo literally everyday then. Could even beat the demo with my eyes close literally and I'm still hunting and playing the arcade machine till this day.
Woud be awesome if they could partner with Bandai, then they could use some corporation politicking to get the orginal VO crew back and work a miracle of the century with Banpresto.
Well so far Banpresto is only featuring them in their latest SRW series for the NDS, and if I remember correctly: series spotted in the SRW saga usually don't get a revival, but then again I'm sure some SRW savvy person out their can easily spot series that were re-polished after being cameo'd or spotted in the SRW franchise, so who knows, we can only hope, right?
Well comparing OM/OT to Force/MARZ is like comparing a fresh orange to a rotten one. Alot of fans think that Force/MARZ slowed general combat to a crawl and MARZ, while returning many famous enemies (Jaguarandi, Ajim), dumbed down their combat value. And also the excessive Temjin love. (:3
From all the youtube's Force/MARZ vids show that they slowed close combat down alot and the tracking for dash-fire has been nerfed. It makes a player more tactical, but many couldn't stand being so... slow.
I had heard about the re-make of the series for the PS2 as being "slow", but I thought that was mainly based on how you customized the mech's, but from what your saying: it was just plain slow...
Still, from the looks of things: if the makers wanted good looks and speed, they should of hired Kojima, the maker of ZOE, he seemed to pull that off quite well.
hey mate you do know you can just download the emulator and the rom for the game and play it ^^ i thought you should know because im .like you when i got the full game i was playing it none stop i would race home from school just to play it
I know you can get the Rom. But it wouldn't be the same feeling as playing on the actual system itself. I'm still playing the arcade everytime I get the nchance, but the noise level in the arcade does not allow me to listen to such good music, so I may have to get either the PC version or the rom...
well you could always ebay for the game or if you live in the uk go to any retro game shops and they have it there but i guess you could get the pc version
Damn this music is hella nostalgic. Used to go to the arcade and play this game a lot.
fuck, i miss my youth

I played this at the arcade, I lost at the first round, but listening to this and playing the game. 5 minutes of gameplay was enough for me.
(though beating the game would've been nice, playing the game and listening to this is just a whole different experience)

I hear they arent making any more sequels to this series x.o
Well, they got put into the Recent K series of SRW...=p

Sadly Sega went nearly bankrupt, turned into a third party pubnlisher, and sadly seems content by churning out Bleach and crappy Sonic games.

Well, hopefully they partner up with a few friendly companies, that'll keep this franchise alive...maybe along the lines of Capcom, and Konami?

We'll need a lot of hope for that, I think Force and MARZ smashed alot of fans' hopes. :P
Which is pretty sad, really, because they had an excellent concept going for both games.

I actually love Temjin, even though the first Virtual On is the only one I've ever played.
StarFoxAutobot 2 years ago
Temjin is my beloved machine as well(LOL), but from a design viewpoint, two Temjin model lines (T-707, T-747)with four Temjin variants each?
Also, regarding the 747 variant, it seems to have a armor-castoff function in Force, but they took that out in MARZ.
