  • Wow. Stood the hair on my arms on end. Beautiful, wish I had been there to hear it in person.

  • Absolutely beautiful. You do an excellent job of keeping a unified tone and moving the peace from unease to rest and back again.

  • such a beautiful sound!

  • lovely

  • simply ethereal...

  • Thanks for reminding me as to why I am a choral director. :) There's just some things that words cannot describe...

  • Absolutely enchanting ladies:)

i dare say Morten Lauridsen would be proud of your rendition!

    cheers:)

  • just simply amazing.

  • Simply amazing.

  • By whom is this setting written? I like it very much!

  • i believe its an arrangement that they did themselves. it's in a higher key, i think. the original piece is by Morten Lauridsen. =)

And yeah. I LIKE IT TOO!! :D

  • This is actually Morten Laurdisen's version for TTBB taken a half-step up. We actually didn't change anything except the key :)

  • AWESOME + WONDERFUL= Amazing! Great job ladies.!! :D

  • Very well done.

  • Amazing!!! never thought that all female voices would work for this song, you proved me wrong, you women have such great control, never wavering. love it, you should record this ladies. thank you for posting this wonderful work.

  • Only one thing I didn't like about this performance: it was a bit too fast for my liking. And some rubato would've been nice. Other than that, amazing! ^.^ I played this in my middle school band, and we listened to the choral version almost every day. ^.^

  • I was a little skeptical when I saw it was only women... but DEFINITELY proved me wrong. Beautifully done. I do not think there is one thing I could pick out to be wrong. MAGNIFICENT!!

  • Close your eyes, and drink this in. It's music like this that makes me thank the Lord I have ears to hear!

  • Great Job Ladies!!!

  • We played this last year for state orchestra.. It's such a beautiful piece, I think it sounds best when the Choir sings it! This is such a great recording.. Everyone's voices sounds great.... So awesome. :)

  • If I was only there to listen to it live...

By far the best live video here on youtube!

Beat SATB recordings I have seem here:)

I too never thought it would be a succes to have only women sing it... I was wrong!

2 thumbs up, and shared love for the music sent from Mark.

  • I start to wonder.....are those altos men...they were absolutely stunning.

  • Heavenly. I would guess that the angels sounded like that when they were praising the infant Christ on the first Christmas Day.

  • I sang this as a tenor in my chamber group! This sounds beautiful... I almost cried too...

  • Nice Sound!

  • Those are some damn fine sopranos. Extremely bright and clean in the high range.

  • I almost cried...

  • Absolutely amazing.

  • Having sung this piece a number of times in SATB setting (as a second bass) I would never have believed that it could work so well for women alone. A fabulous performance!

If you are ever in Brisbane, Australia and searching for a choir, look up Brisbane Concert Choir.

If you have done any SATB stuff you might like to have a look, listen and (hopefully) laugh at my humorous piece - A Choral Menagerie - Cheers, Ian Maurer

  • Wow yes i agree...surprisingly nice moved up and sans men. "beata virgo" from 2:26 to 3:00 was particularly pretty.

  • this almost put me to sleep...

in a good way! :) i liked it

  • Chills, every time... Lovely :)

  • This is an amazing performance. Such control and expression.
