@FluxCapacitor2008 B.S. where is the money that the investors (civilian pension funds) lost because they were forced to sell their preferred stocks and preferred bonds? Their contracts were violated so the unions could keep their pensions.
This is how brainwashed people have become by the fox news right wing mouth piece; they have numb nuts like this guy fighting to drive down union wages instead of fighting for better wages for themselves.
@FluxCapacitor2008 I guess we have a different idea of what "fighting for better wages" means. To most of the 88% of people in this country not in unions, "fighting" for a better wage does not mean running to government and having them pass laws to force your bosses to do your bidding, to most people, "fighting" for a better wage means bettering themselves and competing for the best job out there. There's a huge difference, your wages are legislated to you, our wages are earned. HUGE difference.
Think about it, the UAW has set the benchmark for middle class wages over the years people need to wise up and look past their own anger and jealousy and fight for union jobs. Union busting is a way to divide and conquer (Put aside your anger over your own low wage and look at this from a different angle) BASHING and BUSTING UNIONS will not make your life better!!!!! It will drive down all wages!!!! Think about it!!!!
@FluxCapacitor2008 I worked for a closed shop and it is system based on the lowest common denominator. You work hard to get ahead and the shop steward taps you on the shoulder and tells you to slow down or you won't be considered part of the union team (and bad things can happen).
@FluxCapacitor2008 Unions are for lazy, the UAW pushes a social agenda. Tell me what would happen if the government passed a minimal wage law of $200 an hour?
@FluxCapacitor2008 12% does not set a benchmark for 88%. The only thing you people know how to do is lie, isn't it? Again, 88% teaming up on the 12% that has rights legislated to them, is by no means dividing and conquering, it's casting a light on your extortion. You never have been, and never will be part of the working class, you are part of the union class, which really, is just the top echelon of government welfare. No different than a work program, doubly so for public unions.
What are we suppose to do work for 50 cents an hour and be japanese? I dont know what the answer is but it dont look good for the usa.To my knowledge ford closed its last american truck plant last year in rancine missouri also the ford focus is made all over seas.Parts of the truck are stil made here but all assembly of the vehicle are done overseas.
Try buying any car today and there expensive. So maybe you can explain what was wrong with the cars that were built in the old days? You can take an older car apart and put it back together with a few simple tools. Ford back stabbed the whole entire country .There is no ford truck assembly plants left in the USA. Plus they have virtually no car assembly plants left. You got to be kidding me, the unions had nothing to do with the big 3 leaving the US. Corporate greed is why friend.
Absolutely right. I see your cap...I was in the 101st ABN, college graduate. i worked hard in the UAW and was set up to get fired, I hated it so much, membership was compulsory! I was forced to join! These fat lazy sweat hogs drag their asses to get weekend overtime and bully you for 'killing the job.' They hated my guts for doing my best. Screw the anti-American UAW! Amen...so happy to hear you say this stuff!
He;s dead on about how most unions work,....unions at one time were needed,...but now they just keep lazy workers from getting fired and drive the price of the product way up,.....I say END ALL UNIONS!,....I worked in a union shop for a few years and because of the union the company folded after 80 years in service,...the company could no longer afford the workers!,....just look at the other countries who are going bankrupt because of unions
UAW built your car poorly? UAW workers stand on assembly line and put together the pieces exactly like GM tells them to. They have zero conrol over the design of the cars or the engineering involved or the materials or tolerances. GM decides how long your Hummer lasts and how good it is, not any UAW member.
You've been where? You have obviously never been in an auto plant and have no clue how one runs.
People on assembly lines have to keep the lines moving. If a line stops because you don't keep up, numerous managers will visit you promptly to see why.
If you run a machine a large display shows your part counts, if you are behind quota your boss will visit to find out why.
A few times falling behind and you get an unpaid "vacation". A few more times and you get a permanent vacation.
You're absolutely right. Someone said that since unions support Democrats that they will always have pull. I voted for Obama but let me tell you I will vote Republican next time. My family feels the same.
@sueishere25 you and millions of other informed Americans,....the unions and the obama administration are so corrupt many people still find it hard to believe,...but the sheep are waking up!
@sueishere25 ...problem is,...the "other guy" is worst,...bush did make some mistakes,..thats for sure,.....Bush got kinda Liberal at times,....did not stick to his conservative ways,,,,,,,,we need a Ron Paul or Newt!
Great News for America & mankind A man from San Juan, Puerto Rico Selling T-shirts 22 dollars 1000 sold in three days The T-shirts have my photo of me from online The Shirt says: Google: Jeff Bootstraps Fisher Friend for all of Puerto Rico y mankind I will be at the cigar store if anyone wants to take new photos. M-F 2 pm to 5 pm 140 Mulberry Street Little Italy I am now meeting people all over Manhattan & bumper stickers are shoiwing up in over 28 nations now.
In my experiance an "open shop" dosen't make a difference except the guy working next to you gets the same pay and benifits without paying union dues. If I were the CEO's I would make a deal with the union to cap my wages at 500k a year inturn for the union to help the company rid the rankes of those people that can only be described as a cancer. By doing this the union would not only make a stand for the "real" working man/woman. They would improve there public image.
Whats up Jughead? You are correct about the lazy a## people in a union shop. I have to stomach them everyday. But, to paint all the workers as lazy is wrong. I know for a fact im not lazy. As far as your Hummer being a piece of junk....Well, traid that thing in on a F-150. I can still score ya a discount. :)
I know that there are many as yourself that work a full day for a days pay but Ford or GMC should be able to fire the 40% that ride the gravy train.
It's like in government jobs, 10% do 90% of the work. And it gets to the point they can't promote the real workers because there would be no one left to do the work.
That has been my single biggest bi**h about the uaw. You wouldn't belive how many people I have seen get fired for doing just stupid crap that nobody in there right mind would attempt. Just to have my union dues used to get the worthless bastard there job back. But, once again. It isn't all of us. People like me want to just work, get paid, and raise our families.
High End Lifestyle? Im not a detroit auto worker...rather a Missouri auto worker so it may not apply to me. However, I live in a 60 year old home. I drive a 10 year old car. I havent missed a day of work in the 10 years I have been employed with Ford. I use my money to save for my two childrens colledge so that hopefully they dont have to work in a shit hole like assembly plant.
I'm not sure what part of my lifestyle is conciderd "high end" but I would classify it as average. I realise that there is contempt for all autoworkers right now. But, you can't paint them all with such a broad brush. With that said there are the "lazy" people in the union shops. Trust me I have to stomach them everyday.
No sir there is NOT contempt for ALL auto workers..just the detroit UAW & gms buyouts..the arrogance & attacks toward foreign plants here in the South from them for THEIR failures.
I work for Ford so I may be ouside the loop. But, what attacks are you speaking of? The only time I reacall anything publicly being said was when Toyota was givin millions upon millions to build there new plant in Texas. They said this in a sort of defence to the "bailout."
Also, I would like to clairify this "bailout." It is a loan. It has to be paid back. Coroporaitions have looked to the government for help for years. Not just the automanufatures. Toyota has taken more than there share of government hand outs. Just because it isn't all over the news dosent make it any better.
The trouble hoardpm is that once they declare bankruptcy (and they will) those "loans" will never be paid back. If they did pay back the loans it would be by adding onto the price of their product.
Very true. However, even if they didnt take the loans and filed bankruptcy the tax payers would be flipping the bill anyway. We at Ford really worry about GM filing bankrupstcy. Because of our "mirror" contracts. Fords management will come after us to give up some more as to remain "competitive" with GM. And once again the IUAW will not give up anything. So I do agree with you to a degree.
the Americans have favored the Detroit autos for 40 years and they let down the country by putting themselves into debts beyond their ability to pay despite selling more cars than anyone else . Now that is a loser format
I buy Nissan Maxima and frontier
I have no remorse I refuse to support losers
now the people working at Gm are not the losers it is the upper management and the engineers that are not worth their salt
I would like to thank you for your video response. I do not agree with you entirely, but respect your view. Ps. I hope you don't believe that. The EFCA simply giveseveryone the right to choose whter or not they want a union. People should have the right to choose, yes?
As for Ford I hope we can survive without assistance as well. We are voting to take the cutbacks, to help the company.
I hope we can do the same thing. I was proud of the company I work for when they didn't take any money. But, I would like to put out there that all the Forigen manufatures have been in your pocket for years. Each one of them have taken million upon millions in tax breaks from our government. Who do you think makes up the difference? Its you and me.
It's a Loan not bailout!!! Chrysler has paid back $7.6 billion worth of high-interest loans to the U.S. and Canadian governments.
