i love, love, love this style, i wish you were in nyc so i can come and spend some money with you. love this style, and my loc's are like hers thin but healthy. do your thing.
My hair is thick and long and I like this style a lot! The longer my locks get, the more styles I can wear like the one in the vid. I like updos and the complements I get are always positive. Beautiful style, I will try it this weekend!
"locks" guys not "Dreads"... When Europeans went to Jamaica and saw the Jamaicans with Locks they called them dreadful that's where the term cam from.. but any ways!! love the style!!!!
I have decided to get dreads, but I want to do them myself so i'm needing advice on what products can I use to get started, I mean I heard of wax called knotty boy but I cant find any in my city sop is there any other wax i can use. Please respond.
Finally got my parts done like this lady on the video and it came out so beautiful! I love the fact that with the long parts they lay better and almost look like flat twist when you style them. My locs are right above the shoulder and I can't wait until I can have a ponytail lol in a few more years I guess. Anyway thanks again for this vid and I hope you make some NEW VIDEOS soon :-)
@LadiiOri Hey i am getting locs in January and I wanted to know.. how do you explain how you want uyour parts to be.. is there a certain name for these kinds of parts... do they have pictures.. please help me cause i want it to come out exactly like this lady also!!!! loved her parts!
i'm in love with video! all the negative comments need to stop...obviously the loctician knows what they're doing....WAKE UP! educate yourself...yall looking like fools thinking yall know it all. RINNY KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK..YOU'RE A BLESSING
PEOPLE CAN BE SO JUDGEMENTAL WITH OUT KNOWING WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT ARE YOU A LOCTICIAN JUST CUS U DO UR HAIR 1 WAY DOSENT MEAN THAT THE OTHER PERSON IS WRONG ANY WAY LOVE THE STYLE ITS VERY NICE AND I PERSONALY LIKE SMALL LOCKS
I have hair texture that is not fine due to the spiral curl but is not coarse either (staying away from the "good" and "bad" since that seems to offend people). I do not have thick hair but because of the curl, you might think so. I have had locks for about a year and a half now. When my locks are freshly twisted, they are just as thin. As Rinny2002 stated, it's the texture and the volume the hair has naturally. I hate to see people criticize when they don't really know.
that look very nice, keep up the good work ms lady. can't wait until mine get that long so i can do something like that to it. stop hatin people cause ur dreads are wack doesn't mean u have to dish out negative comments

You should've washed your hair after 4 weeks. Pls wash your hair ASAP. It helps in the locking process. In the meantime use witch hazel and saturate your scalp and wipe off excess.
WASH WASH WASH and use anything to clarify your locs cause i'm sure you have a lot of buildup by now...
@uniqueqt2 The key is NOT to wear updos too often or make them so tight that it looks like you have a facelift LOL.
I only do updos once every few weeks and I make sure they're not too tight cause my hairline doesn't take well to that much tension. Maybe if you do them but loosen the 2 front and back rows on your hairline, you won"t weaken those delicate babies
@rawgameplay thats kinda gross..ive had my dreads for like 6 yearss i think...you need to wash ur hairr...thats wheree ppl get stereotypes that "dreadheads" dont wash their hair!
this is what damaged my hairline permanently wouldnt recomend it the retwist itself is already pulling and thinning out the hair and then on top of that to braid it and add that extra pull is hairline suicide
been growing mine since 01 and my hair line was fine until the updos and other braided styles now i just grow mine naturally without any retwisting and i wash em every 4 to 5 days - WATER LOCKS AFRICAN HAIR AND MAKES IT NAPPIERjust pull the roots apart and you're good
I agree...these styles are pretty, but the less you manipulate your locs, the healthier and thicker your locs would be. Styling is nice just dont overdo it.
This model has similar hair texture to me that is quite soft. This means that when you do a retwist even with a fairly large amount of hair it will look thin. Mine are the same so i have combined my hairline with my second row. My locs were all started even at the same size and due to the rear texture being extra soft they are thinner at the back and may need combining. If you look at the end of her locs they are not that thin they plump and fill out like all locs eventually do.
To: Rinny2002, I love your locs! What type of locs are they? How do you maintain it? How much did you pay to start the locs? You look like you have a perm. How big are teh locs?

LOL! No, I do mean "canerow". My parents are West Indians, and that's what we call it. Actually, UK blacks either say cane row (since that's what our forefathers were mainly dealing with in the Islands) or we say cornrow, since that's what a lot of our family in the States were dealing with.
So, is he flat twisting then? I really can't make it out. I'm so impressed and would like to use this technique on my own locs.
